Best clinic I've been to, I went through so many terrible vets before I had this place recommended to me as I prepare my pets to travel overseas. But I wish I'd found it sooner, the vets and staff are friendly and organized and above all know what they're doing. They don't push endless extra services and medications without giving you anything for the money you're already spending, and their prices are extremely reasonable considering the level of service you get. I had my lovely bichon put down a year and a half ago. Dr. Hare and her staff were very sensitive and kind. I have a new pup and would not go anywhere else. The staff are welcoming and all the vets are amazing. Dr. Hare is top notch she even takes time to engage with the pup before doing any procedures. I've been taking my pets to White Rock Vet since I was a kid and now even though I've moved from the lower mainland to Squamish I still bring them to this vet.  They provide virtually every service you would need and the staff and the vets are extremely knowledgeable about animal health and well being.  My current dog has some special orthopedic challenges and a very sensitive stomach, I've not once been disappointed with the service I've received from any of the vets here and believe me I'm there a lot!  My dog just recently had a dental done there and although she is normally very quiet she apparently was having a bit of a hard time waking up and was feeling uneasy in her surroundings so the vet techs and a couple of the vets (Drs Hare and Woods) and the receptionists spent the rest of the day carrying her around and cuddling with her to make her feel safe and comfortable, I couldn't ask for anything more. White Rock Veterinary Hospital is a caring competent group of veterinarians and your pet's health is always their first concern. Their hours are very accommodating and appointments are easy to book. My husband and I took our cat to this clinic to assess a cyst on our cat's face.Dr Hare indicated it was likely benign and certainly could be removed during a future dental exam when the cat would be under as opposed to putting him under twice- made sense. I then asked if they could drain the cyst and was told yes and did I want the fluid sent out for lab results- I said yes-We were there less than 20 minutes...$299.0055.00 to remove the fluid ( took less than 2 minutes) $179.00 for the fluid lab tests and $64.00 for the general examHere's my issue : why charge $55.00 to draw the fluid out AND $179.90 for the fluid test?? Seems VERY excessive. My fault for not asking on pricing in advance. Read Less

Our cat is almost 16 years old now (as we have been taking her to this hospital since she was a wee kitten. We have nothing but praise for the staff here including Carol, the very kind receptionist at the front desk. Even today Carole took her time to explain something to me regarding  our cat's last visit. Chiquita has seen various vets at WRVH and we have always been very pleased with the results. Our family has used White Rock Veterinary Hospital since the 1960's when it was run by Dr. McDonald. The doctors and support staff are kind people that love animals. The place has a good vibe and is clean and spacious. Excellent prices and lots of parking space. I tried one of the local discount vets but never again. Horrible technicians. Particularly one named Leanne.  She did a review on our dog prior to her surgery to get spade. She was wrong and on the day of surgery (after they had already sedated with an IV) the Vet realized she still had a baby tooth that needed to come out.  After I arrived to pick up my dog and expressed my disappointment with the situation - Leanne tried to blame my husband for not holding her down during examination (which she never requested). Her review of our dog lasted less than 3 minutes.  She then told me she didn't appreciate being hung up on last week when she was explaining the surgery.  And that I was rude for hanging up. It was the Children's Hospital calling on the other line and I had to take the call (I did tell her there was another call coming through on the other line before hanging up). Unbelievably rude with no apology by management for her behaviour.  It's one of those situations where you leave and think to yourself "Did she REALLY say that to me?"  Will NEVER go back and as a national journalist will be sharing this story with everyone I encounter. Dr. Kennedy and Dr. Heir are awesome and nice. I like this place :)   I didn't like Dr.Wood though (very unsympathetic and "dry"  when he said I might needed to consider euthanasia).... he wanted to do a bunch of tests, but I kept insisting on an x-ray to see if my dog was bleeding internally.  I was right ......and the xray showed it.... all his extra tests (which didn't help prove or do anything) cost an extra $300.... Other than him I like the vets.......Oh but one of the front desk girls (younger, thin and fairly pretty (don't know her name) was very rude. She misquoted a price to me about my dogs neutering surgery... and so when I went to pay it was an extra $80. She was snotty and rude about how she was right, and I was mistaken, and when I asked her name ... she wouldn't give it.... They lost a star  because of her...... Make sure you get the price in writing before hand, because there is no point trying to talk with her..... she is apparently always right... Read Less
