Can I say that Dr. Davidson and his staff are amazing!! It was an unfortunate situation that brought me here as my dog suddenly wouldn't get up in the morning. I was frantically calling my usual vet and others in the neighbourhood, but no one would take her. Luckily for me Acadia did. Not only was Dr. Davidson completely wonderful with Coco, but he explained everything to me regarding my options, the various things that could be happening with her, etc. He discussed a plan of care for her and followed up the next day. This is based on the awesome and really helpful front staff, and the doctor who gave me his free time on the phone. Really great! Further, people have complained here on Yelp of the cost. The first appt is $ 45 and the follow ups are about 70 or 80, which is still one of the cheapest in the city. If I lived closer to them - this would be my vet! Read Less

This is my favorite clinic of all time! Dr. Davidson and his staff are extremely thorough and helpful; they take the time to answer all my questions and carefully examine my pets. When my cat was diagnosed with heart disease my previous vet made me feel very insecure and I was left in the dark about what was happening. I switched to Dr. Davidson and he explained what my options were, what I can expect long term, and referred me to a specialist to get further diagnoses. He also helped me feel like I'm the ultimate decision maker which is a nice change from pushy vets who don't give you options. Anytime I call with questions they are ready with answers. The vet staff are very friendly and helpful. I have called many times and been given suggestions over the phone. Its great to get tips of things to try for the health of your dog instead of just being told to "bring him in". Fraser has been a great vet to my cat Beatrice. I first brought her three years ago to be euthanized bc another vet had told me she needed 4000$ worth of treatment, including spleen removal (due to cancer) and dental work, yet refused to euthanize her. Fraser checked her over, reviewed the X-rays from the other clinic and could not find anything wrong with her. She is still alive and healthy with spleen intact, and a clear blood panel. His treatment is minimally invasive, with a clear awareness of the expense of pet care, and does his best to keep treatment simple. The support staff is equally caring and friendly. I took my dog Bruno to Acadia clinic after picking him up from a boarding kennel as he was feeling and looking sick, the staff there were so so friendly and gave us an appointment for 30 minutes later. Dr Fraser took time to examine and explain everything in detail, gave us the meds and really put me at ease as I was quite concerned. He even called me 2 days later to see how Bruno was doing. These people really care and it shows in the way they treat you from the moment you walk in the door. And their prices are more than reasonable. I recommend this place and would never think to take my pets anywhere else. Thank you Dr Fraser and your staff firstly for helping Bruno feel better and secondly for putting me at ease as to my dogs health. No one could ask for a better vets & support staff than the ones at Acadia! I've seen both Dr. Fraser Davidson & Dr. Alex Kirkham and they are equally fabulous. I have a hyper-overprotective and wary (of males especially) pitbull cross rescue that other local vets have immediately muzzled the second we walk in the exam room for a checkup and/or vaccinations. Not the vets at Acadia. They care enough to spend a minute to put my dog at ease . As a result, every visit to Acadia has gone without a hitch. We've seen Acadia vet Dr. Alex Kirkham for vaccinations and a bad dog bite as well as Dr. Fraser Davidson for more vaccinations and a REALLY bad & painful dog bite. Acadia is extremely thorough, they don't rush you out and they are honest. I know that they are honest because when I brought my dog in for her second dog bite, she was in a lot of pain and couldn't put weight one her foot. Dr. Davidson could've told me that it was broken and that she needed xrays and I would've agreed as she couldn't even walk. Instead, he asked me a few questions to determine the likelyhood of her not being able to walk being attributed to infection or a broken bone. From my answers, he told me he thought that her lameness was due to the infection and and xray wasn't yet warranted. He was right. After 24hrs on antibiotics, she was walking around fine. 36hrs later, she was running. AS FOR THE NEGATIVE REVIEWS....those are all pertaining to the previous owner/vet, Dr. Murray. Read Less

The team at Acadia are amazing, friendly and very easy to deal with. We have an senior dog, Texan who is 17 years old and still going strong. A few health issues, but what do you expect for a 17 years old and a Jack Russell.Fraser and his team are wonderful and we are glad their is a good vet on the west side of Vancouver. Texan is comfortable with Frasier and his team at Acadia. I could not see us going anywhere else, Texan enjoys his visits to Acadia and they treat him very well. It is hard to put into words how grateful I am to have found Dr. Fraser Davidson at Acadia Veterinary. My dog was recently diagnosed with an enlarged heart, or Cardiomyopathy and I was looking for someone who would give me options other than Euthanasia. Being a health clinic owner myself, I knew I needed an experienced vet who was willing to be open to other avenues of complimentary care. Dr. Fraser Davidson immediately impressed me, by understanding what we felt comfortable exploring and within two days brought my dog back from near death. Then over the next two months worked closely with me, staying in contact with me by phone and email, as I introduced other complimentary care options. His willingness to provide his experience, feedback and honesty was beyond my expectations. He demonstrated such a high degree of professionalism, support and caring along with his great staff that I have rarely come across even in human medicine.When the time came to make the difficult decision to send my sweet boy over the rainbow, again Dr. Fraser went above and beyond. They made his passing a gentle, respectful, and caring experience for the whole family, even down to the hand written condolence card I received in the mail today.
