We have 2 years experience with Blueridge Cove hospital taking our 3 years old chiwawa for getting spayed and dental care. Dr. Alberto Schlicht took a great care of teeth removal, the only thing it's been a bit expensive to get 20 teeth removed for over $2000. Dr. Christine Kim is the best vet, EVER!!! She is caring, sensitive, keeps you informed, is genuine, never in a rush, takes her time to make sure you are comfortable with the care your pet is given. She is completely dependable - always called me when she said she was going to - to keep me updated as to the progress of the treatment of our beloved family dog, Koda. Koda suffered from a "mystery" illness and Dr. Kim was determined to figure out what was wrong. A week after my dog recovered and returned for a follow-up appointment; it was obvious that Dr. Kim cared about the well-being of my dog almost as much as I did. This vet is fantastic and I would recommend her without the slightest of hesitation. The staff at Blueridge is fantastic - caring, organized, and friendly. I've been a customer of this clinic since I moved to the North Shore 5 years ago. I've been taking my 2 cats and dog here and have been happy with this clinic -- up until today. It appears that this clinic has been sold recently, and it's all new vets in here. I brought my cat in for what I thought might be an ear infection (which it turned out wasn't the case), and the vet tried to convince me that my cat needed expensive dental work: possibly an extraction of one of her premolars (the estimate was $1100-1600). The vet said they'd have to x-ray in order to know for sure. I asked, "If you do the x-rays and it turns out there's no problem with her tooth, then what?" And the answer was that they'd do a full dental cleaning and scaling. That's when my scam radar kicked in. It felt like I was being "upsold" to pad the bill. She's 4 years old, and at her last (recent) appt here, the (different) vet said her teeth were just a little tartar-y, but if we started giving her dental food a few times a week, it wouldn't become a problem. So that's what we've been doing. There's no way she should need a full dental scaling so soon.The whole interaction just gave me that feeling, you know? Like someone was trying to pull a fast one. And I've never gotten that feeling at this vet before today. So I'm now looking around for a new place to take the kids. Read Less

Not happy at all! I was quoted almost four times the price for the same dental procedure my pet ended up having done at another veterinarian . They then attempted to justify their ludicrous price by trying to convince me thier service is superior ! I also ended up paying in advance for a blood test that I found out was completely optional. I cannot say enough about how great the team at the Blueridge Cove Animal Hospital. When we arrived to town 3 years ago - we originally went to them because of positive reviews on-line and they have NEVER disappointed. The staff (doctors, technicians and reception ) are all very friendly, kind, caring and knowledgeable. We have 2 cats , one of which has required constant monitoring over the past 8 months and the care they have provided has been incredible. Vet bills can be expensive and yet, they try to help make things affordable whenever possible with a variety of options - which I appreciate . To give you an example of them going above and beyond - on December 24th - they called out of the blue to check up on our chronically sick cat and make sure everything was going well and to let us know they would be closed for the next 48 hours. I was blown away by how kind it that was - they truly do care... and you can tell with all the animals who come and go while you are in the reception area of the clinic. Blueridge-Cove Animal Hospital is the best animal care place for Rosie and one of the best care that she has had ever she has had and still has. She has been under their care for the last eleven years and still going strong. The doctors and care staff are very caring and loving to Rosie always and all of their furry friends and when it comes to Rosie who is hard to please and stubborn at times she always looks forward to going there and I know that when I leave her there whether it be day care or a sleep over I know she is in good hands and I can rest easily. By far the best veterinarians office around! They truly care about the animals and making the care affordable. I've unfortunately had to bring my pup there quite a few times this year under stressful circumstances and was amazed by how compassionate they were, and how I was able to work with them to keep the costs down. From past experiences I know I wouldn't have gotten this kind of care anywhere else. My bills literally would've been double what they were going anywhere else. Unlike a lot of other vet offices they also don't recommend services you don't need. All of the vets there are amazing especially Dr.Kennedy, you can tell she loves what she does. We just switched our pet hospital to Blueridge-Cove Animal Hospital for our chocolate lab fur baby and could not be happier with the decision. The staff are amazingly nice and caring. Our vet took her time explaining everything to us in detail so we get the understanding of why we need to do the things she wanted us to do for our dog to get better. For the first time in 18 years of owning dogs, we didn't feel like they were just prescribing her medicine and doing test for money and purely for the health of our dog. I asked around for vet recommendations for my cat after my long-time pet hospital closed down. Several friends recommended Blueridge-Cove, especially Dr. Kim Kennedy. I called around a few different places and found that Blueridge-Cove offers competitive pricing. The receptionist was kind to provide me with this information and answer my questions over the phone. I was able to make a next-day appointment. Upon arriving, the receptionists were incredibly friendly. They even took a picture of my cat for her profile! I was blown away by Dr. Kim's kind and professional demeanor; she listened to my concerns, answered my questions honestly, offered professional advice, and gave me a website where I could do some of my own research (I try to keep my cat as healthy as possible). She was gentle with my cat, who tends to get spooked when she is out of her environment, and my cat was totally comfortable with Dr. Kim, which is not something I can say of all vets. One more thing! The receptionist accidentally overcharged me for the wrong service and promptly called to apologize. She offered to add the credit to my account for next time, or for me to return for a refund. Overall, it was a great experience. It was actually a blessing in disguise that my former pet hospital shut down; otherwise, I wouldn't have found Blueridge-Cove. Read Less
