My experience here is same as other clients. I felt like i was getting pressured into expensive invasive options when there were much cheaper and safer options on the table. I'm glad i called another vet for a second opinion and I promptly left, my animal was treated that night by the other vet with the non invasive procedure first and was successful. I had the best experience possible with them!! Everyone is awesome!!! After a series of problems with my cat we finally found Burrard Animal Hospital, when he had to go through a surgery. Not that the previous place was not good, but they are just another business looking for our money. Not Burrard Animal Hospital, they treat us as lives, not dollar signs. Everyone treat us and our furry baby in the best possible way. That is my go to place. Dr Manjot Sran and Dr Linda Cheng were amazing!! And also Nikki, one of the assistants. The staff and vets here are super friendly and take great care of the animals that come through. We've taken our puppy here several times for emergencies and for shots. Would highly recommend this place for your pet emergencies. That being said, every time we've been here there's been an issue with admin that we've either caught right away and had to have fixed or else something that's come up and that we've had to call back and ask to have fixed after the fact. For example, we've been billed wrongly several times, or our vaccinations paperwork and sometimes paperwork for insurance claims has had the wrong dates. They've all been relatively easy fixes and the staff are very helpful at changing things, so this is more a forewarning: if you go here, just make sure you check any paperwork you receive before you leave because it's way easier to get it fixed then and there then weeks later over the phone. We've also found that their prices are a little higher compared to other vets in the area and there can be high waiting times if you go in and there's an emergency. Still a great place! Read Less

I would give this clinic 0 stars if I could have. We were the first ones here and ended waiting from 10:30pm-2am. I called before coming in to check on the wait times and it took them probably 45 min to get us in their room without any other patients coming in the clinic. I understand it is an emergency clinic but he took 2 and a half hours for another patient and skipped us and went to someone else. I brought my dog in because he needed the help or I would have waited. The doctor didn’t even acknowledge us and the nurses did not check up on us at all. I had to go out several times to see what was going on. It was always oh 10 minutes or another 20 minutes. My family and I tried to stick through but the service was terrible and I would not recommend anyone ever come here. My dog is ill and the doctor didn’t seem to carry but put us aside. My dog is still very sick and we are trying to find another office ASAP. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND! Read Less

I want to show my appreciation and thank the staff of the Burrard Animal Hospital for their kindness and support. I got there last Sunday evening for the first time in my life trying to save my old 12 years old Cocker Spaniel Nina who was seriously ill and collapsed at home; when I got there Nina had unfortunately already passed away and I was a total wreck. They helped me bringing the body in, helped with the paperwork, checked on me multiple times, showing compassion and respect. They also sent me a card home signed by the entire department a few days later. Can't rewiew their technical expertise but they are very nice and compassionate people who have great respect for their patients and their owners. They took care of the last moments of my cat a few weeks ago. My cat ended up needing two surgeries and intensive care until we decided that it was best to let him go. They followed up with me every single day or night, gave me directions on what was the best path to take and what was happening. They answered EVERY CALL. I loved how caring they were during the whole process. It's incredible to see how a 24h animal hospital can keep the quality level AT ALL TIMES - everyone in there, from the veterinarians to the receptionists and technicians LOVE what they do. I will definitely come back, not only for emergencies and would recommend the Hospital for anyone looking for what's best for their pets. Read Less

Everyone here was amazing with my dog. She is usually nervous and a bit reactive with strangers, and the staff were very acomodating for her. Never taking my dog back there again they just want you to come in to charge you money last time took him in a cost me 1500$ just to find out what I already knew and I told the vet before starting but he still wanted to do every test under the sun. I was really worried from what the vet said so I went along with it and in the end I just left with some anti inflamatory so misleading. Also today I called in asking more questions and they told me to just bring him in to charge me more money so I called vancouver animal emergency and referral and they were way more helpful over the phone and gave me way better feedback Read Less

UPDATE: The hospital called me the same day I left this review and they were very apologetic! The manager was very concerned with the situation and made sure that the issue was taken care of. We ended up sorting out any problems and I'm happy with how the entire staff handled the situation. They seem to be good people, and helpful that they are open 24 hours for emergency. I'd like to thank Corina personally for being so friendly and helpful. Took my cat in for ear mites, the first vet found ear mites and let us even look at them through the microscope. He then decided the best thing would be to give her a dropper of medicine between the shoulder blades, which did absolutely nothing to help the ear mites. Charged us for the medicine, when three weeks later I had to take our cat back in AGAIN because the ear mites had not gone away. The vet then gave us the proper medication, and charged us again for another visit and the medicine, when it was the first vets fault. Read Less

I have brought my elderly cat and also my dog here to this clinic for both emergencies and regular appointments. My cat has since passed away but the care they have given to my pets has been wonderful. Lisa at the front desk is fabulous, very attentive and caring. Very good facility for pets. Clean, new and well appointed to handle pet health issues of all kinds. I brought my Frenchie there on a couple of occasions because her regular vet was closed and the service was very professional. The entire staff team was amazing, vet took her time to answer all our questions thoroughly and explain options, and the bill was extremely reasonable - appreciated during the holiday season. We have been going to Burrard Animal Hospital since it opened in Vancouver and we have received nothing but great treatment from the veterinarians, front desk, and vet techs. Although each time we go it usually is not the same vet/vet tech on duty, our dog has been treated with care each time. Prices are high as it is an emergency hospital, but the vet techs will always go over the costs before you give them permission to proceed. I do want to mention one incident where they went above and beyond. My dog was on a hike with her regular walker when she had an accident involving a deep gash on her arm. The hiker rushed her to the hospital and they took care of her until I was able to be reached. In such a horrible time, the doctors and vet techs made sure that our girl was going to be OK. My husband and I have two Chihuahuas who can be very finicky when needing to go anywhere that they aren't comfortable, but whenever we need to take a visit to the vet they are treated with a lot of patience and acceptance making us feel very grateful to have found this great staff !! Our First time visiting was in the evening around 10pm . our 8year old Chihuahua Was experiencing impacted anal glands and was in pain. Usually when we take him into a vet they want to sedate him to work on him as he can be difficult , but not here .. they had the whole issue dealt with in less than 30 minutes. I was so relieved! WORST VETERINARY PRACTICE IN THE GVRD. Forget about taking your dying animal to this place in the event of an emergency. They will ask you to make an appointment!!! WTF!? We called at 10:30pm to ask if they could see our pet, who was having respiratory issues. We explained the severity of the situation. They told us that we had to make an appointment and the earliest available was 12:30am that same night. Needless to say, our pet died while waiting for our scheduled emergency appointment. What kind of veterinary practice schedules EMERGENCY visits?! I have never heard of anything so preposterous in my entire life.. RIP little buddy. Read Less

2 of my animals have had surgery here. The doctors and staff genuinely care about the wellbeing of my animals. Prices are comparable to other clinics, no surprises there. And they give you 2 quotes for medical care, one standard and one 'in case of complications'. Dr Khoo has been amazing. I have nothing but nice things to say about this place. You can tell they care. I lost my cat suddenly without any warning late last Saturday night. There was no place to park because Burrard St. is blocked off still so I drove up on the sidewalk and around the cement blocks. April was at the door to greet me right away. Unfortunately there was nothing they could do for Jada but they made me feel supported and let me spend as much time alone with her before saying my last goodbye. Great service, highly flexible hours. You have the option to be notified on the types of services available before being charged. Only (trivial) downside is there seems to be a limited number of vets on hand who are experts with exotic animals. However, the vets are all directly upfront about their limitations so you know what quality of service you are getting when you go in. Highly recommend it for anybody who needs to take their pet to the vet but have trouble finding the time outside of busy working hours. Read Less
