My 2 year old cat was having a problem with episodic, stomach-emptying barfing. After doing some searching on the internet, I was concerned it could be something significant (in addition to being icky) so I figured I'd better bring her into the shop.I brought her to see Dr. Ko, worried it might be something significant and expensive. I liked Dr. Ko's "first-principles" approach to the problem, wanting to minimize invasiveness until simpler things were ruled out first. So she prescribed a course of de-worming meds to address that common cause, and suggested a change in diet. A little over 100 bucks out the door including meds, which I thought was reasonable (and a lot less than I feared I might have to pay). It's been over two months now, and she's been 100% barf-free, and has become even more affectionate. So I'll call that a quick, cheap, and effective fix for a healthier, happier cat! That's what I went to a vet for, and that's what I got. It's also worth mentioning that I really liked Dr. Ko's manner: she came in to the examination room, introduced herself, and sat right down cross-legged on the floor with my cat to put her at ease. She began her examination of her body with almost a stroking motion, then as my cat got more comfortable, got to poke and prod a bit more without alarming her. This is a huge contrast to vets I've gone to before, where the vet stands behind a table and the animal is plunked down on a steel examination table. I as really impressed with her manner and how well she handled my cat and kept her at ease throughout the process. If I could give her 4 1/2 stars, I would. The only thing that keeps me from rating 5 starts is that the interaction terminated unexpectedly for me, as Dr. Ko left the exam room to fetch the medicine and didn't return (an assistant came in after a few minutes to talk me through how to administer the medicine). I got good info from the assistant, but I would have liked to have been able to thank Dr. Ko and end the exam that way--I fully expected her to return in person with the medicine herself. I expect she likely got called away and asked an assistance to walk me through the medicine so that I didn't need to wait, but it would have been nice to have the assistant make an apology for the doc. This had no impact on the care my cat received of course, but was a minor ding in terms of customer experience, hence the slight downgrade in rating.I will definitely be back should my cats need further vet care.
