This clinic is located in the middle of nowhere, with a rather plain and humble exterior look that may make one think this might be a third world animal clinic. However, you don't judge a book by its cover, and as you enter into it, it turns out to be much better than I had imagined. It is clean in the lobby, the receptionists are passably friendly and attentive, and the lab behind the front desk looks well equipped, techy, and organized. There is no odour, no barking or screaming, just staff chattering mildly. The veterinarian, his student, and the technician struck me as professional, friendly, and patient, also playing the role of an oral heath educator, which I appreciated very much. I see many pet owners complain about the high costs at this clinic. Yes, the bill has exceeded my expectation, and none of the staff seemed to have any sympathy or empathy toward the client who struggles with financial burden and their deep love for their furry kid. Maybe their charges are reasonable, maybe overpriced--I'm no expert to make any judgement, but what I want to share with other pet owners is if you don't have a big wage, and if you are under the pressure of rent, mortgage, or special levy, then this place is, sadly, not for you. I wish that all furry family members in BC, regardless of the economic status of their owners, had the right to receive the dental care provided at this place. I do not want to see only wealthier pet owners can give their pets a better and longer life, while financially challenged ones have to see their pets losing all their teeth and suffering from diseases. I couldn't be happier with Dr. Judy Rochette & the lovely staff at WCDS with my young GSD. We had a tooth issue with an adult canine that involved gingival reconturing. Not only was the price far lower that what was initially quoted to me on the phone, the procedure was far less invasive than the treatment plan my regular vet had initially recommended. Always get an opinion by a good specialist, people! That said, what I really appreciated, above all, was the obvious care and concern by the staff that my dog's experience was a good one. I highly recommend WCVDS. Read Less

Got recommended here for tooth restoration on a 5 year old cat who has a small hole in her tooth. The last time she had that it took 3 weeks to develop an abscess and these people want to book me 2 months later? After mentioning she is already in pain and I don't want her to have an infection, the receptionist says I should make the appt anyways and she'd be fine. I asked how much it was as an estimate and they said 1200-1500. For one small hole? Then got told that I need to see the guy first AND then make an appointment... so my cat being in pain waiting and I am supposed to be okay with that? Then I asked an estimate on an extraction instead and was quoted the same.... both my vets do it for $500. What kind of rip off is this? And once I mentioned this to the receptionist, she ignored me and still tried to make me give information for an appointment. This place is just out for your money. I found many places doing the same for 1/3 the money. Shop around and avoid if possible. Read Less

Had a tough situation as my rabbit had a serious jaw fracture and could not eat anything. Although the outlook was pretty bleak, and was told so by my vet, as rabbits don't always do well with surgery, my only option was surgery to fix it. Dr. Legendre was honest and professional with me in terms of what we were up against with the surgery. I would recommend anyone with a rabbit that has teeth or jaw problems to see him. He even called me before surgery and directly after to say he was okay. The costs, while expensive, weren't anything shocking when you own a pet that is considered 'exotic'. They gave me the worst case scenario cost and it ended up being almost half that after the surgery. My rabbit made it through just fine, thank goodness, and ended up being able to eat on his own after 2 days. It's tough trusting anyone with your pet so I was very happy with how everything was handled by these guys. Read Less
