Dr. Rick Cohen is a knowledgable, thorough and compassionate professional. He always takes the time to explain what he is doing and is very gentle with our pets. We have three dogs with significant medical conditions. Skin issues, GI issues, severe arthritis, and neurological issues. Rick has managed all our dogs various issues with skill and has always been willing to go the extra mile. He will always refer to a specialist when necessary. Rick and his staff are top notch and I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone. We moved here a number of years ago and we were lucky to have found such a wonderful medical professional to look after our beloved pets.

I was calling to make an appointment for my cat(I just moved to BC but took my cat in to a vet before I moved) he is otherwise healthy but for a little persistent problem. After explaining my situation, I was recommended a potential solution that I could try before taking him in.
They said of course if it makes me feel more comfortable I could bring him in right away for an exam, but since I have been to a vet prior I could try this potential solution before coming in for a full exam.
I'm really pleased that she just genuinely wanted to offer a solution instead of having me pay for a full exam to say the same thing.
Will definitely go here for my yearly exam from now on as the fees are really reasonable as well when I asked! I was surprised about this too, because they were similar to my Montreal vet fees and I know it's a lot more expensive to do anything on this island.

Rick has been our vet for our two dogs for a few years; he has been a tremendous help throughout any health issues that have arisen, and he genuinely cares about animals (not just in it for the money....
