Amazing! My furbaby is happy and comfortable again. I went in to ask about spear grass in the ear and if I could pull it out. They educated me on the issue which I love, I always dislike being told prices but no information. Here they told me all the information so I can make the best decision for my furbaby. He took the time to explain to me exactly what was going on with my dog, and most importantly, how to fix it. My family has taken our pets here for more than 20 years. Free parking, beautiful neighbourhood, and nice premises. Staff are lovely, helpful, and compassionate. The vets have always been not just professional and compassionate, but also practical and honest. When you are faced with the worst choice, they do not try to pressure you into spending money out of guilt and for the wrong reasons. Pet food and treats available for purchase and a bathroom for use by customers. This will remain my veterinary clinic no matter where I move in this city. Read Less

Hidden fees and the highest prices I've ever paid. New to Victoria and the neighborhood I took my cat to see the vets at the Cadboro  Bay clinic. I called to ask about pricing before going and was surprised to see extra fees tacked on that were not originally quoted. When I questioned the fees I was told that the fees are their charges and that's just the way it is. I argued saying that the fees weren't transparent and should have been quoted when I called. I was shrugged off. Not ok. When the owner of the clinic Dr Benloulou called to discuss my cats results he had no time to give me any further information accept that my cats thyroid is double its level and I needed to up my dosage of tapazol which was already two pills a day. He had no patients for my concern or questions and told me to try and get a hold of his assistant Dr Pemble. Why would I try and get ahold of Dr Pemble? When I asked him to please get Dr Pemble to call me, he replied with: I don't know when Dr Pemble is working and he's a busy man, he's a Dr, he doesn't have time to call you. You have to call him. Wow! Really? Am I not the client? Every other vet I've ever had has had the time to explain my pets ailments and medication. Very bad business. He told me to take my business else where. Which I assured him I would be doing. He then argued that I was a bad client because my new number had not been updated on their file.  What a joke. Do not go to this vet, I'm sure there's a ton of other vets who care about their patients and their animals more than these guys do. If you know of a good one in town please let me know. Read Less

When we saw first the vet for our dog's ongoing health issue (we had moved from another province and just wanted to continue the same treatment), the vet was unwilling to give us the prescription before looking it up.  He then printed off a few documents for us from the first hit on google and the proceeded to prescribe us the wrong dosage (waayyyy too much mg - and no, this was not about being able to cut the pill in half).  Not only was the vet incompetent but the secretarial staff always seem to forget to call us back when we have asked them to regarding food and medication pick-ups.  I would not recommend this place to anyone - we are currently in the process of finding another clinic. When we moved to Cadboro Bay from Pr George six years ago we were very fortunate to have discovered Dr. Benloulou and his clinic. His professionalism and care has always been first rate...so much so that now that we are living in Langford we've never given a second's thought to changing vets, preferring instead to make the drive to Cadboro Bay where we know we will get the best care. On more than one occasion we've had to take our pets to the 24 hour animal hospital because these things always seem to happen after hours or on weekends, and we have been generally unhappy with the care provided, however Dr. Benloulou has always been able to provide the proper diagnosis and care that we weren't able to receive from the hospital. He's always calling us after hours to inquire about our pet's health. Whenever we're asked if we know of a good vet in town we always refer pet owners to Dr. Benloulou. Read Less

Terrible little place in a gorgeous setting. Really tacky in the way they push their high-margin dog food.  There's a terrible sense of bad ethics and that they're just out to get as much of your money as they can. I felt they were experts at preying on worried pet owners, saying whatever they can to scare you into spending a lot of money.  The female vet there shows zero regard for your pet.It feels like a ripoff, period. If you just need one prescription, it'll cost you $100 or more and you'll have to endure knee-jerk diagnosis threats of other more serious ailments/and don't forget to be told your dog food is partly to blame for any problem your dog may have.What a shame how this industry has evolved. A place like this, with one vet working, could easily rake in more than $10,000 per day, just pushing dog food, prescriptions and unnecessary tests. I'm sorry to have to say this. Read Less
