We have used this vets for the past 6 years for our 2 dogs. We have only ever received the best care. Apart from one visit where I felt like we were slightly "over prescribed" for a vomiting dog (but, perhaps it was better to be safe than sorry) I love that the veterinarians at Elk Lake really think about what the animal actually needs. I am so happy with this veterinary clinic! Took in my sick ferret and the staff was so sweet to him. The vet, Petra, was very knowledgeable and made herself available for any and all questions we had. Her and the Elk Lake Veterinary staff really cared about my little man. I am so unbelievably happy that a veteraniarian clinic like this one exists and in my city. My rescue dog has never been treated better. I left my last vet because I felt so heartbroken and disrespected. Elk lake vet made me and my girl feel happy and respected again. This clinic has proven to be exceptionally terrible time and time again.  They are disorganized and poorly managed.  I have called ahead several times to book appointments and they have never been ready when I arrive.  The staff have told me one thing on the phone, and then when I get to the clinic, always appear to be completely unaware of what they had told me, and then have to disappear several times to check with the vet for long periods of time.  I have never been in there for less than half an hour, even when just picking up pill for my pet.  Dr. Warnock attempted to charge me $900 for exam fees when I brought my cat in because she was not eating.  He tried to bill me upfront before even processing any of the exams.  Luckily I questioned his proposed plan and had to argue it, before he reluctantly stated he would simply give her a routine urine sample first to see if anything showed up there.  When he did he noticed she had a kidney infection and that was it.  It still cost almost $300 for everything and took almost 6 hours of my time and energy.  I brought my pet in for a blood test and prescription refill.  They informed me on the phone that she would be given a few extra pills over the weekend while they tested her blood.  Today, they had no recollection of saying that, and I had to advocate for a measly 6 pills so that she wouldn't suffer from her thyroid issues.  They initially said no, they wouldn't do that, and then, after 20 minutes of leaving me standing in the reception area AGAIN, brought out 6 pills that the vet finally agreed to.  THEN they charged me $19 for 6 pills.  I paid the bill and then realized what they had done.  I asked for an explanation of the cost of the pills and they stated that the pills themselves only cost .35 cents each, but the dispensing fee about about $17! I had to argue the ethics surrounding this for 6 pills and they said that they would wave the dispensing fee when I come back on Monday for more pills.   They would NOT have said anything if I hadn't argued it and they would have happily charged me $40 extra just to take some pills out of a container twice.  They are basically thieves and do not care about you or your pet.  They just want your cash.  They are dishonest and should be put out of business.  AWFUL. Dr Randall and his wife are true humanitarians who care for there clients and there owners....they go above and beyond....They are truely angels ..My dog got very sick very suddenly and Dr Randell came to our house to see her...called me to let me know results very quickly..the following morning he called to see how her night was and with the information that we discussed he came to pick her up since i do not drive and took her to have emergency surgery...during the day he updated me on how she was doing , when she was going into surgery and after we talked about how she was doing and then he brought her back to the house...They always have time to spend with you in person or on the phone...you never get the feeling that it is a business but a calling that they have....About a month before this we had to have my sons cat put down very suddenly and they allowed him over two hours to make the decision without any pressure, answered all his questions, and when the time came to let her go there was compassion for our beloved family member and us...If you ever have any doubt about vets they will put that to rest immediately...I will never be able to thank them enough for all they have done for a furry family members and for us...They have become part of our extended family and we love them with all our hearts...Thanks you Drs Warnock.... In a city with so many animals, and therefore animal services, one would think there is very little difference between Vets....Elk Lake Veterinary Hospital is certainly the exception. From the moment you step onto the property, you are greeted with an environment that seems designed to make you feel both at ease, and around animal lovers. The office is clean, filled with a beautiful ambiance, and staffed by cheerful, loving people. Dr. Wormack, the Vet I saw with my own elderly rescue Pug Shilo, seemed as if she had raised my dog herself all these years, as the compassion and love shown was intuitive to the point of utter familiarity, although this was our first visit. Not only do they offer a FREE Dental Exam for your Pet, but unlike other Vets, they also offer discounts and options in order to go further with treatment. At no time did I feel like my Pug wouldn't be given the best care, no matter what the route we took was. Truly cannot say just how wonderful of an experience this was, and certainly will be the place I take any future furry friends of mine. Read Less

The staff at Elk Lake veterinary hospital go above and beyond my expectations. It is a very well kept,clean, and advanced facility. The front desk staff is friendly and welcoming. I was able to book an appointment for the same day. I had adopted my cat from the spca which also comes with a BC agreement of a free exam within 3 days of adoption. Elk lake was the only vet clinic that I was able to honor the agreement. They were very happy to make sure my pet was healthy. They cleaned his abcess very well and made sure not to be invasive and make him uncomfortable. She educated me on quite a few things for health care as well. Overall ot was a very nice experience and my pet left healthy and woth as little stress as possible. I will always bring my pets here for care. I recommend everyone do the same! Read Less
