My young daughter took her cat in to get spayed and was charged $740!!! And this is AFTER having paid $140 for a 5 minute (literally) consultation.
This is far more than we have ever paid for any of our cats (or dogs). She was prepared for a vet bill of $400ish dollars. We told her how much it would be based on having had 8 cats go through it (at different vets)- one of which was last month a one of the best clinics in our area on the Lower Mainland.
I looked up the recommended fee on the CVMA (Canadian Vet Association’s) fee guide- and this price not even close to what is suggested. I then went on to randomly google vets in the area…. All of which charged far less. This was not an emergency procedure, and there were not any complications.
I was sure that there was a mistake, and called for clarification, asking why it is so much higher, and the office just said “well I guess we are more money, but thats our price”. They were cold and unapologetic while our 19 year old daughter is in tears.
She was also charged for a microchip that no one discussed with her (ethical???). She was not given a quote for anything by the way. She was however sent a contract at 7am to approve the morning surgery, which she rushed to complete- only one signature was required. At no point did anyone explain or outline the cost or the addition of the microchip.
The price breakdown that I eventually insisted on was given to my daughter. The breakdown charged a fee for the “spay” which seemed reasonable at $216. But then went on to charge extra for: anesthesia (is this an option), fluids, pain medications, and a collar (that she was not given).
We encourage everyone to spay their cats (for all of the obvious reasons) but with it costing $900, I can see more people declining than going forward with it. :(
Lets just hope that from here, our cat will heal well in case the vet decided not to use stitches because it “is an extra” 🙄 or was not specifically requested. So brutal.

My cats ended up at VCA when my original vet, gave up his practice and joined them. When He retired I ended up with Dr James. I have no complaint with her.
My complaint is regarding the lack of communication between the other vets in this location who saw my dying cat during her absence. Each time he saw a different vet, they did not seem to have access to his records nor the information on his previous test results. When he was referred to get an ultra sound, the radiologist recieved very little information on him other than a recent blood test. Each vet had to speak to me to fill in the massive gaps of information.
Several months prior to this, I took him in for a urinalysis. 5 different staff tried to catheterize him and none of them were able to do it. I had to take him elsewhere to have it done by ultrasound. I question the training those 5 people had.

I have been bringing my dogs here for the past 15 years. My most recent experience was very disappointing. I informed the vet of my dogs symptoms and then the vet asked me what I'd like them to do. I would expect a vet to offer options and opinions on what the issue could be and solutions to try. This was not the case. The vet performed a minor, but unpleasant procedure on my dog and my dog was not given any treats or pats during or after. The total encounter with the vet was less than 5 minutes and the cost was significant. Seeming this was not the first poor appointment we have had, I will be looking for a new vet.

I have being going to this clinic & Heidi Rachlin with my pets for more than 25 years. The staff know my dogs names when we enter the clinic, even if I don't have an appointment. Her and her associates are always very considerate of the stress the animals are under. They offer choices of treatment & care, letting me make the decisions about my pet's care, after giving me medical advice that I trust.

I've been taking my dogs to this clinic for close to ten years. Dr. Rachlin and her team have provided excellent care for general wellness as well as a number of conditions we have encountered over the years. Front desk staff provide excellent personalized service, and have played a big role in helping my newest dog transition from being extremely stressed at the vet to pulling me in the door!

Dr. Rachlin is friendly and professional, and very good with my fearful dog (who actually pulls me into the clinic with a wagging tail, waiting for the team to share some treats:)). Feltham Pet Clinic is absolutely wonderful! We LOVE Dr. Rachlin! Always cheerful. Always smiling. She has been fantastic with all of our pets, but has been especially helpful with our Leonberger, who has some pretty significant allergies. We're finally on the right track with him due to her knowledge and expertise, and we're so grateful that he is much more comfortable now.
Most dogs are terrified to go into a vet office. Our Leo pulls us towards the clinic even if we're out on a walk and happen to pass near!
The staff are always very friendly and knowledgable and we always have a positive experience. Many thanks to all of you!! :)

Read all the reviews. Stunned at reading the very negative one. Did they get the right clinic? We've been bringing our Aussie/Springer cross here for over two years. At first it was because they were close by. But our experience here has been great. Never had to wait more than 5 min. They once stayed open for us after hours on a Sat to give us some flea medication. Our dog has been treated for torn dew claw, vomiting, and fleas. Plus the regular checkups and shots. I agree with previous review that they don't rush to do expensive tests but on the other hand wouldn't hesitate to give your dog urgent attention if needed. I trust this place. Our dog does not like clinics in general but she will tolerate Feltham. Highly recommend them.

Dr. Heidi Rachlin is an excellent veterinarian!! She cared for my dog so well for many years. She also gives you options in terms of what you could choose for tests, treatments, etc., gives good advice, and is sensitive to budgetary issues. She and her staff are remarkable!!!

My young daughter took her cat in to get spayed and was charged $740!!! And this is AFTER having paid $140 for a 5 minute (literally) consultation.
This is far more than we have ever paid for any of our cats (or dogs). She was prepared for a vet bill of $400ish dollars. My complaint is regarding the lack of communication between the other vets in this location who saw my dying cat during her absence. I would expect a vet to offer options and opinions on what the issue could be and solutions to try. This was not the case. She has been fantastic with all of our pets, but has been especially helpful with our Leonberger, who has some pretty significant allergies. We're finally on the right track with him due to her knowledge and expertise, and we're so grateful that he is much more comfortable now.

At first it was because they were close by. But our experience here has been great. Never had to wait more than 5 min. They once stayed open for us after hours on a Sat to give us some flea medication. Our dog has been treated for torn dew claw, vomiting, and fleas. Plus the regular checkups and shots. I agree with previous review that they don't rush to do expensive tests but on the other hand wouldn't hesitate to give your dog urgent attention if needed. I trust this place.
