I'd absolutely take my cat or dog, good vet with a good heart! But I'd never take another rat to him, unless he personally wrote & assured me he learned from my StevieJoe's death after a neuter in Oct'06, and my Alfred's 2 mo's of suffering after his Dec '06 neuter. Not every great cat & dog vet is rat-capable without experience, Be aware of that when you have exotics! When I picked Alfred up he assured me he'd done a different procedure on him than he did on StevieJoe (wh...o died), but Alfred suffered multiple issues after and didn't eat solid food for 2 months. Dr. Brar was very giving & caring thru Alfred's after-neuter issues, but he shouldn't have done either procedure at that time as he obviously was uncertain how best to do it (by his own admission). I expect (hope) he's learned from my boys. It's been 11 yrs, I still ache over Alfred's suffering, but moreso StevieJoe's death, he went into spasms minutes after I got him home, then died.. I JUST wish Dr Brar had told me what he learned from the necropsy (if he did it) when I took StevieJoe's body back to him, he said he found nothing, He & I know that's not true, StevieJoe bled to death internally, but he denied me that closure. We all make mistakes and we learn from them, any honest mistake can be forgiven, unless you have someone else carry it for 11 yrs when it was your onus. An excellent vet. An A-1 human being. He's the only one who knows what I say is true, but that's all that matters to me. That I speak for my StevieJoe, and Dr Brar knows why.We all just Need answers to move on sometimes.
