Worst vet clinic experience ever! I decided to try this one out based on good reviews. The staff were super friendly so the visit was off to a great start until it came to treatment options. I have to agree with previous review that they do their best to tack on to the invoice as much as possible. I phoned my former vet clinic to find out the cost difference on the treatment provided; it was significant. I asked for a breakdown of fees prior to proceeding with the treatment and the vet said, "add about $200 in medication" to the technician..it made us feel like she was just throwing around numbers to meet a quota. The total fees were over $400 and once we refused the proposed treatment, our bill still ended up being over $400.00. That, however, is not the worst part of my experience. My puppy was barking at the vet at one point because the vet had been giving her treats and so the puppy wanted more. I was taken aback by the vet's comment regarding the puppy's barking which were said in seriousness: "maybe your puppy is racist... maybe she doesn't like white people. The staff are very friendly, and were excellent with my dog. Though I found they were always finding ways to add to billing. I was constantly being offered extra tests, sedation to clean ears, being recommended to buy their dog food as a post surgical supplement, etc. I felt as though they sincerely believed these offers were in my dogs best interest, and they did not belabour the point when I declined. I decided to move on to another vet after having agreed to a second set of shots when I brought my dog for her spay, to then have them refuse to administer the shot until the stitches came out two weeks later, and then be told I'd need a third round of shots due to the delay between the first and second shots, each being over $200. I found this interaction to be disingenuous and manipulative, as I would have made arrangements had I been informed the delay (which they caused) was a problem. I feel any pet would receive great care from Stonewall Veterinary Clinic, the staff are friendly and accommodating, the clinic is clean and welcoming. But I recommend being vigilant for unnecessary billings. Read Less

Very good place to go. I drive here from the city rather than trying to find a modest priced, and non-judging vet in the city. I am not a big believer in a lot of dog medicine most city vets push. I left my old one because I didn't want to give my dogs heart gard when there was snow on the ground only to be talked down to for it by the tech. When I phoned here I spent about 40 minutes on the phone with one of their vet techs who walked me through a ton of their practice, way the run the place, etc. I felt I was given very good service considering she had no idea if I was even going to come to them. I decided to take my dogs there. While they are not cheap, they are not pricey. I also found they are not quick to suggest meds which I absolutely loved. They actually suggested reducing the frequency of my pets prescription (until they realized it wasn't the exact pill they were thinking). I could see how they could come across as pushy with vaccines though as instead of asking if you want them they will just say "so for the visit, this vaccine, rabies, this vaccine it would be this much for you" instead of asking what vaccines you want. We have brought our 3 dogs there and have used them in the past for my cat. Dr. Mander and is staff have always been respectful and very informative. They rushed us in to perform surgery on Christmas Eve for a tumour that had developed and was visibly growing at an exponential rate. When one of my dogs couldn't keep water down, they rushed us in to give her the barium solution and did xrays. Another one of my dogs, they brought him in for xrays and diagnosed him with hip dysplasia and arthritis (after a different vet wasn't able to see him for at least 2-3 weeks). They've got excellent equipment and are very quick to diagnose, treat and explain to you in detail exactly what it is that you're looking at. I agree, they aren't the cheapest, but I care about the quality of work, and at the end of the day, I'll happily pay for it! I don't trust any other vet with my dogs! Read Less

This vet clinic has always been great with us. They are attentive and thorough and provide good care. They are responsive and always got us in when there was what we thought was an "emergency". In response to some of the other negative reviews here....as a satisfied and happy customer I feel those reviews are unfair. A Vet clinic is trying to provide medical care. Good care depends on proper diagnosis which relies upon testing and fact. How unfair is it to expect a vet clinic to provide you proper diagnosis and care without the benefit of scientific testing and fact? Unfortunately good care costs money. DON"T GO TO THIS VET!!!!! They just want your money and if they can't get it from you the stupid vet they call Dr. Brown (part owner) will call you and try to bully you into something you don't need!! They are terrible! Have been going here for a long time and find ALL staff professional and friendly. I have read some of the reviews and find some to be very harsh on the staff, calling them names etc. I understand you can be frustrated at the time but would it not have been better to call the manager and discuss the concern and problem and work things out rather than writing a nasty review towards their staff? Vets are only human. They along with all humans make mistakes. Things sometime happen. This is life. . People got to learn if you take your pet to any vet you have to pay. They do not work for nothing. We don't why should they. I do not like any Vet's prices but that is the price of owning an animal. As I said earlier I am very happy with Stonewall Vet and reviews should not be written to hurt staff. Stonewall vet should reply to these reviews. I am so thankful to Dr. Mander for saving the life of our pet. I go to clinic in city but that night our dog was not doing good. I called my vet ,they were closed. One of our friends suggested to call Stonewall Veterinary Clinic. Dr Mander came  out in middle of night to help us. Fortunately it was bloat not twisted stomach.He took x-rays and ran some blood test and was able to correct the bloat. Surprisingly fees were reasonable. I am so very thankful to him. I've been to this clinic for 3 times now for my dog and each visit is a different vet.  2 times was with 2 male vet and once was with a female vet.  The female vet wasn't too bad but she is no longer working there.I do not feel they are 100% knowledgeable and definitely not caring.  My last visit was the worst, Dr. Brar came in and had no idea when the last time my dog had her vaccinations or her history, he didn't bother to read her file ahead of time before coming into the room to speak to us.  It was really hard to understand his English and he didn't even explain much of what he was planning to do with my dog and charged me all these fees at the end.He told me to wait outside during the procedure which was fine but once he was done he never bothered to ask me if I had any other question or concern and expected me to pay for the vet bills and be done with.This is also the worst place to take your dog to trim their nails believe me, my dog never had problems with nail trimming until after taking her here.  I needed them to show me how to trim black toe nails b/c I couldn't see where the blood vessels are.They had 3 of their techs hold her head and body down on the table and have 1 other tech to trim her nails so she can't move.  This has traumatized my dog to hate nail trimming.  She has issue with this now and I have to take her to Canada's Canine Academy to get this issue fixed!  The owner/trainer Dawn even said that is the worst possible way to trim a dog's nail but they dint care, they just want to make your money fast.
