I`m not happy with the service, the front desk needs better training at customer service, jagwant singh needs his veterinary skills reviewed in the 12yrs that I owned my dog I have never heard him whimper/cry, that`s what he`s doing after his visit and all night long plus did a shitty job on cutting his nails. We have taken our dogs here for a least the past 15 years. Always found the services to be professional and the primarily Vet was DR. Standish who is excellent. Last week we had a very unpleasant experience with Dr. Nicol who after attempting to exam our 15 year old pet and working his back and hind legs his reaction was to snap at her. She then told my granddaughter and me that we were not responsible pet owners. She would not complete the examination and gave him his Rabies shot.  The bill however indicated a few of $63. for the service. This old dog spent 5 years going to a nursing home daily visiting my wife with Alzheimer and when there visited other residents. He never once snapped at anyone. This will be our last visit. dr.nichol told me my dog wasn't properly trained simply because he tried biting her and we didn't do anything about it. he is 15 years old with back pain i'm pretty sure he doesn't like being held in weird positions for an exam. she didn't perform a full exam for this reason yet he didn't even bite her. we usually have dr.stannish but he was away. extremely disappointed in her amount of patience and respectfulness for customers. will not be seeing her again. I have taken my pets here for many years started seeing Dr van at the Spay and Neuter Clinic when it first opened. I prefer to see Dr Standish, the other 2 Vets are always pleasant and friendly, they have a tendency to interrupt me when I am trying to tell them something pertinent to my pets welfare.  The last time I went I was told my cat had food allergies when in fact I had an infestation of chiggers from a dead mouse. Costly, too although veterinary medicine has never been cheap. I will keep going as my senior cat is terrified in the car and this is 5 minutes away from home. Read Less

The took really good care of my Dog. I was upset to leave him over night after surgery. But he was a really good boy and the Vet Techs took good care of him. Dr Standish is friendly and I am really impressed that he uses invisible stitches rather than staples. They dont force you to purchase anything that they recommend. Read Less

Let me tell you a story I'm a young adult, early 20's and was not prepared to put down my 17 year old dog alone. I noticed my best friend not doing well health wise, not eating, lost weight and so on. I take him in and can't get an appointment with his usual vet, who I hear is fantastic, but I book a check in with Dr. Singh. I fully expect to put my dog down that day, he looked horrible, was 17 years old and I knew it was time. Dr. Singh checks him out, sees if he's interested in eating, does a physical exam and a blood test. Tells me he looks fine, has an interest in eating and it'll be a couple days for the results of the test. I'm thrilled, but hesitant, I know my dog, and he was not fine. But I figured I'm a kid, who am I to not trust a vet? So I take Dr. Singh's advice and go home with hundreds of dollars worth of vet recommended food to help his tummy and lots of different meds. I set up a schedule, give him his meds and special food, see how it goes over the weekend. He ate once, and was getting worse. I took him back on a sunday and told them to hold the klinic open later for me because my dog needed to be put down and I was not going to see him suffer anymore. His usual Dr was the one who put him down, I don't remember her name but she is wonderful. She took one look at him and asked if he got checked out at the same klinic earlier, he had. She said just by looking at him, she could tell he had a massive tumour growing inside him. I had no idea, I'm not a vet, I was devastated. She sedated him and showed me the size of the tumour, which was the size of a large apple, growing on his liver. Just by looking at him she knew all this. She put him down and all was well with her. I was pissed. How could a vet have missed that. There's no way Dr. Singh missed that, but I was naive enough to believe he missed it. What my naive, young stupid mind finally figured out, he knew my dog was dying, vets make a commission off food they sell, he figured this dog is gonna die, might as well make a few bucks. He lied to me, got my hopes up about my dog and took advantage of how stupid I am. My dog, who I have had for 15 years, suffered because of this Dr for longer than he should have and it took me 7 months after his passing to write this review because it eats me up inside. I cry everytime I think about him suffering because I believed that man. My parents were on vacation and once they got back, chewed them out, but that's not enough, other people need to know to avoid Dr. Singh. I feel horrible for this review as everyone else was amazing, the female Dr (can't remember her name) and everyone else I came into contact with. But that man made my dog suffer and people need to know. Read Less

Doctor standish is amazing! Would highly recommend him. The only thing negative I might add, is the lack of professionalism from the receptionist. God forbid you have to deal with Kesha from the front desk as she is super codescending and rude. She even hung up on me when I was explaining my situation with my dog. Alpine animal hospital in Winnipeg seems to think they can do whatever they want and talk you up to more costly procedures.  If you complain or challenge the partners they will tell you to take your pet somewhere else using the reason that there is no longer the trust relationship between the client and business when in fact the business created the lack of trust. The vet I take my Bichon to is Dr. Standish--and I think he's fantastic, if slightly unconventional. Dr. Standish is not a "pill pusher" type of vet--he will prescribe medication if needed, but is also very open to alternative (more natural) types of therapies if he thinks it will benefit the animal and if the human is open to it. Food-wise, he is advocate for whatever is best for your pet--be it raw-feeding, kibble--he's not the sort that will try to sell you what's at the clinic. Dr. Standish doesn't rush you through appointments--and I've learned a lot from him, both through the appointments and the free information sessions Alpine was offering in and around 2015. When my dog got deathly ill and the other two male vets were the only ones available (can't remember their names) I also had a very good experience. Not only did my dog survive, they were very pleasant, professional and competent. Recently I saw Dr. Nichol when Dr. Standish wasn't in and I thought she was very good too. I highly recommend Alpine. I have had occasion to use Alpine Animal hospital on several occasions. Most recently for surgery for one of my little dogs. I found that the level of expertise varies depending on the doctor you see. In terms of the surgery it went off without a hitch. The techs sent me pictures of him throughout the day which I thought was amazing customer service. My little dog is doing wonderfully and has made a full recovery. The front end staff is amazing as well and very helpful. They have a lot of handy tips for various situations. Should you use this veterinary clinic I would suggest Dr Standish. He has a lot of experience and is very intelligent as well as kind. Read Less

Once was a loyal client, but cannot bear to return. Still have nightmares on how a previous euthanasia was preformed on my sick and dying cat. Would best describe it as a painful death by the attending vet and with a VERY rude receptionist who shoved papers in front of you and demanded that you fill them out yourself. This one should consider employment elsewhere and not with humans. I have now found vet care, for my other pets, elsewhere. Read Less

Alpine Animal Hospital is the best! The staff are one big happy family and you feel like part of the family when you're there. They treat my dog as if he were their own. Each of my dogs have always been more than happy and excited to arrive at the vets office! I drive across town just to use this clinic, I can't imagine taking my boy anywhere else. Had my dog cremated here. They failed to get a paw print made after I specifically asked for one. Went here for 15 1/2 years and barely got an apology due to their disastrous mistake. They took something away for me they could never give back and gave me a half assed apology. If you love your dog do not go here. Read Less
