I came home on Friday night to find out that my 15 year old gurl kitty Patches vomited and thought she had eaten a mouse. It was very unusual for her to be sick at all. I called Saturday morning and managed to get in the afternoon to see Dr. Hill. She was very gentle with my elderly critter and kind to her. She was also very compassionate when she discussed Patches' diagnosis to me. Sadly, she had kidney failure and diabetes and had to be put down. 😢 I thank her for medicating my special bff in such a way that her last few days were good ones. ☺ The staff were very friendly and patient with its customers especially the teary eyed like myself. Good friendly service. They had to refer me to a different Vet because they don't do the type of operation that my cat needed BUT they fully explained what had happened to my cat 'Neko' and my file was forwarded to Alpine Animal Hospital. I have a good review of them as well.Read Less

Staff at front desk was friendly. The woman vet there was 100% rude and cold. Not to mention they charges me 2 times for a check up when I only needed the one......Never going here again. The vet made us feel unwelcome and like we were stupid.....it was our first puppy. Read Less

We have taken our furbabies to Machray for over 20 years. I absolutely trust Drs. Keddie and McDonell wholeheartedly and wouldn't think of taking my babies to anyone else. From routine exams to more serious procedures like surgery, they have always offered the absolute best care. Like at all Vet Hospitals, I've had good and not so good experiences here. There are some Dr's at Machray that I prefer not to deal with but I cannot recall their name's. Dr. McDonell is great! She is nice, patient & never condescending like some of them tend to be. I stopped taking my animals there abt a year ago when I called in for an emergency appt for my dog. I was abruptly & rudely told that there was nothing available. I understand that they may have been busy, but the male who answered didn't seem to care and made me feel that I was an inconvenience to him just for calling to ask. There had been a few other instances previously where I had called in to ask a simple question on a recent visit with my pet & was given a snotty response. It was a very emotional time for me as I knew my dog didn't have much time left so getting attitude was not something I appreciated. I called another vet (Southglen) who was also busy & had no appt's, but the lady took the time to ask me what was wrong. She was able to squeeze me in so my dog could be seen between the other vet's appt's. If the guy would have simply asked what was wrong or showed some sort of empathy, I would not have moved Vets. Would I take my pet's here again, yes if I had absolutely no other choice in the city, but their customer service definitely needs some improvement. Read Less

Had an amazing first experience there. We were looking to change vets to one closer to home and our budget. The reception team and Dr McDonell were informative, caring and were able to offer exceptional care for all 3 of our dogs in a way that we could afford to give our fur babies the best quality of life possible. The vets are great, but the receptionists are very curt and bitchy on the phone.  I inquired about home visits and I was cut off saying that they didn't do them (which in the past they had done) o.k. fine perhaps they didn't do them anymore - so when I asked if they knew of places that did home visits - the receptionist cut me off and said "you'll have to look in the yellow pages for that".
