I was doubting I wanted to spend another second thinking about this very unpleasant experience we had at Roblin Animal Hospital, but this incident warrants a report, so I will get this off of my chest. I thought after this incident that Fisk would call to at least apologize but no sign of that happening.
I have been a customer of Dr. Fisk for about 10 years with our dog and cat. All has been well up until now. We dealt with Dr. Fisk until the last two visits.
To give context to what occurred this day, I need to mention a single email I sent the clinic in response to their "Update on restrictions" policy from August 4, 2021. When I received this email I was upset that they were not allowing customers to be in with their pets on appointments. I know full well what this plandemic was all about then and now, so this upset me quite a bit. I am prevented from seeing my own mother in the nursing home and now I cannot attend with my pet. Whether or not these policies were set just so they could stay open to me was irrelevant, I am entitled to my opinion so I responded with ONE email and that was it. I never received any response to it in return. This is what I wrote.
"All the more reason never to give you business again. Keep promoting the globalist hoax. If you have not awakened at all yet, you never will. Do some bloody research." This was it. My opinion in ONE email in three simple sentences. No name calling. Just my opinion. My response.
Fast forward to March 2022. I was out of the city and my wife had to bring our 11 year old dog Jupiter in, to find out why he was not eating well and his decline in energy. She brought him in and saw Dr. Kusa. I spoke to Kusa on the phone after he checked Jupiter. He explained what he thought may help, he recommended xrays and some drug treatments. He mentioned possible inner ear infections and other things. He said the heart sounded good with no murmurs. The blood tests did not show much. After all was explained we decided to go with the meds and decline the xrays mainly due to cost and the fact they mentioned they may have to sedate him for an xray which we cannot do. Jupiter is very heavy and my wife would not be able to get him home if he could not walk.
I returned to town, on March 17. Jupiter was hardly eating and it was hard to get him to swallow his meds. He was less mobile by the day. We called the clinic and they told us we could bring Jupiter in for xrays at 2pm on March 22. Since the provincial mask mandates had changed, we were unaware the policy at the clinic had not changed with the locked door policy. Since we were just on time for the appointment due to Jupiter mobility issues I quickly got the ramp out and coaxed Jupiter out of the truck. He could hardly walk at this point. He did manage to get to the clinic door and plopped down in front of it exhausted, as I realized the door was locked and was able to read the sign.
I called them and was told they had to finish with a dog to clear up an examination room. She told me to wait in the vehicle but I explained we were already at the door so we would have to wait right there as Jupiter could hardly walk.
After a few minutes someone came to the door and my wife motioned to them to wait and let her open the door slightly to coax Jupiter to stand up which he did. The vet assistant poked her head out and told us we have to wait. I asked her to just allow Jupiter to step in and lie down as it was so hard for him to walk, let alone get back up. This person, whom I believe is the one on the website, Jasmine Reeves was displaying a very cold and rude attitude from the get go. Just let the dog walk in and lie down I begged, you can see he can hardly stand, if he lies down again it will be almost impossible for him to get up. She refused with a very rude, obnoxious tone. I said that if this was the level of compassion she had for animals maybe it was time for a new job. I told her I would be certain to give her a good review for this. Her response was, "Oh, I have read all your emails". I asked what the hell she was referring to....ALL my emails??? I said, " you want to show me those emails because I sent you only one a while ago." She refused the request and left us and the dog outside, shut the door and locked it. Some animosity there? Some retribution she was getting off on getting for an email that got her all butthurt? Jasmine had no problem collecting over $800 from my wife for the last appointment which solved nothing. All about the money, eh?
A short time later Dr. Kusa opens the door and starts this long winded explanation about their policies and masks which was odd. I stopped him and told him I did not get why he was stuck on this subject. We did not say we would not wear masks if required. He offered us new ones and I said no thanks, we have them here in our pockets. Okay he said, let's go in.
Jupiter could not get up. Dr. Kusa brought the roller stretcher and we slid Jupiter on and wheeled him into the examination room. We continued this conversation about the email and why he was giving us the long winded mask speech. We should be tending to the dog here, but look at all the arguing. Should the animal not be the focus of attention at a veterinary clinic? Not at this one apparently. The attitudes of the butthurt employees must come first. Even if your animal is extremely ill.
The answer I got from Dr. Kusa, is that after Jasmine locked the door on us, she marched up to Dr. Kusa and reported to him that there were two customers outside that were refusing to wear masks to enter. Oh, well that explained the long winded speech on regurgitating their policies and the right they have to implement the mask policy although the almighty government had lifted the requirement. This was not the issue ever. We had our masks with us, which proves we brought them to wear them if necessary. What a low life lie, designed to satisfy her anger towards me and my email.
Then I mentioned that this Jasmine was whining about ALL these emails I was sending and that I recalled sending only one short email. Dr.Kusa said "yes, I read that email and you were calling us a bunch of idiots". I responded that I did not recall calling anyone any names. I told him I was entitled to my opinion as anyone is. I even apologized before leaving if I did call anyone names in the email, which at the moment I could not recall word for word, but after checking confirmed my memory was indeed accurate.
Anyway, Dr. Kusa recommended we take Jupiter in to an animal hospital to put him on an IV, get the xrays and be able to be observed over night. I agreed and we wheeled Jupiter back to the truck, shook the Doctor's hand and thanked him. We took Jupiter to Pembina Animal Hospital. I put that dog through hell dragging him around that day and will always regret that.
The three girls at Pembina were very helpful, Jupiter actually forced himself to walk as they supported him with a towel. We left him there to get his xrays. Shortly after we arrived back home I got a call from the female vet there, I did not catch her name. The prognosis was very grim. The xray showed a very enlarged heart surround by blood. The only humane option was euthanasia. So my wife and I and our two daughters returned to hug and kiss our boy for as long as we could before sending him to heaven.
Everyone at the Pembina Animal Hospital were very kind and compassionate to us and to Jupiter. I am so grateful for that. Thank you all.
I was trying to forget how this day was stained by the behaviour at Roblin animal hospital, but today I decided to get this off of my chest. It caused my wife and I a whole lot of pain we should not have had added to that day and will not be soon forgotten. I was hoping to get a call of apology from Dr. Evan Fisk, who I have been dealing with for a decade, but that call never came. If I was a vet there and heard the bizarre behaviour of an employee was at that level of lies and contempt, I would have either fired her on the spot or had her write a sincere letter of apology or both.
So congratulations Jasmine. You helped cause a family an added unnecessary level of grief and pain, not to mention more pain to an innocent and very ill animal on the last day of his life, which should have been your one and only concern on ANY DAY, not just on the day a family had to decide to put their sweet Jupiter down. Instead you ran to the Doctor to instigate and inflame your personal issue based on a lie. Hope you are proud of yourself. Here is the review I promised you. I am a man of my word. Read Less
