Wouldn't trust this vet at all. Only dr brar is supposed to touch our animals but when he went in for a neuter they got another vet to do the job and completely botched it. Now they gave me another quote of 550 to fix the pancake flap that used to be his balls that we originally asked to be removed.

Brought my 15-year-old cat who was under 5 pounds to the St.Norbert Animal Hospital because she wasn’t putting on weight. She got her blood tested and the results showed that her UREA aka her kidney health was almost maxed out at 19.5mmol/L (should be between 5.7-12.9) and that her TT4 aka thyroid level was 73 nmol/L (should be between 10-60).
Clearly seeing that her kidneys were already extremely high, Dr. Narinder Brar still prescribed her 2.5 Felimazole, two tablets a day for one month. Side note - The bottle had 38 days-worth of pills, so over his prescribed amount.
After a month, my cat became highly vocal, had lost her balance and could barely stand; let alone walk. She had blood in her urine and completely stopped eating. Knowing that she was in pain, I booked her another appointment and they did another blood test.
This time the results showed that the pills brought her TT4 (thyroid) back to normal range at 12 nmol/L but her UREA (kidney level) to 35.9 mmol/L. Way above normal levels of between 5.7-12.9! Also, her ALT (liver levels) were previously at 87 U/L which is normal (12-130) but after the pills, it has dropped to 10 U/L. It’s amazing that she’s still alive at this point.
All this time, the vet Narinder Brar, recommended her the wrong dosage and now she’s paying for it. He tried to fix one problem by worsening and creating another. A simple Google search says not to give cats with high kidney levels this medication and that it should only be used for 21 days.
We have now stopped giving her the 2.5 Felimazole pills in hopes that her severely damaged kidneys will heal. I now have to force-feed her food through a syringe and carry her everywhere she goes. If she doesn’t heal we’ll need to end her suffering by euthanasia.
I am extremely disappointed and frustrated that this so-called expert gave her the wrong dosage and hopefully it doesn’t cost her, her life.

Being from Alberta and knowing the prices there we were amazed at the affordable rates and excellent service at this clinic. This is the second visit here and the staff and vets keep getting better. Definitely a caring environment for our pets. Very pleasant experience with absolutely no surprises on the bill and a lot less than we expected to pay for the services performed.

Amazing front staff (professional, friendly and helpful). The vet we saw was exceptional. She was knowledgeable, super friendly, handled our nervous dog perfectly and administered a shot without so much as a flinch from our dog. Their fees are much less than our previous vet. All in all we had a great experience at St. Norbert Vet and glad we switched.

I told him she wasn't constipated. He said after this, if it doesn't work a blood test has to be done. What does a blood test have to do with a hairball? The receptionist told me normally an xray is done when a hairball is suspected. Yet, he kept ignoring that I'm certain she's got a hairball, and she very well could have a blockage that could kill her. He'd rather give me false diagnosis so he can get another $180 for the blood test, then, what, another $180 for an xray? I know my cat, and I am not stupid, this guy is a complete sham, and honestly I wouldn't be surprised if he let your pet die just to get the most cash from you.

Took my cat in about 8 months ago because of an ear infection. Infection came back this week and I asked to buy more ear drops. Was told over the phone I needed to bring my cat in for an examination to make sure it wasn't anything more serious and if it turned out all she needed was more ear drops I wouldn't be charged for the examination. Brought my cat in and was told all she needed was the same ear drops but they insisted I pay for the exam. I ended up paying because I didn't want my pet to suffer but I feel lied to and taken advantage of. On top of being lied to about not charging an exam fee I also could have ordered the medication online for a fraction of what they charged.I really liked this vet before but will not be going back ever again.

We've been bringing our dog, Ross here ever since we got him. The front staff and Technicians are super friendly, compassionate, and knowledgeable. Dr. Braha is always very gentle with our dog and very thorough. He explains everything very clearly and doesn't do any unnessecary tests or procedures to tack on charges. Their prices are incredibly fair. Many times when I go up to pay I'm pleasantly surprised to know the cost wasn't nearly what I thought it was going to be. I also purchase our dogs food from them and they always recieve the order quickly and let me know what it's ready for pick up. I've also seen the same food in the same size bag that I buy for almost $20 more at other vet offices. Love this office and will continue to come here. Highly recommended.

OVERCHARGED AND LIED TO Took my dog in because there was a huge red mass protruding from the inside corner of her eye. Dr Braha told me it was conjunctivitis (false) and did a 5 second scratch test that cost $25. He then told me it was from trauma and prescribed $40 anti-inflammatory eye drops. Then when I got home, I looked up some pictures online and realized that this was a very clear case of “cherry eye”. Called the vet back and brought my dog in to see the other vet... in the same office. This vet told me that it is cherry eye and that surgery is the only solution. He looked back in the notes from Dr Braha and said that the original diagnosis was cherry eye. Strange, that’s not what Dr Braha told me. I asked why was I told it was conjunctivitis and sent away? Why was I given drops? Why was a scratch test done? He said he didn’t know. I called three other vets and asked them about the scratch test and eye drops. All three told me that for cherry eye, both are completely unnecessary and would not help. Surgery is the only solution. I then spoke with Dr Braha and he told me that there was no cherry eye when I was there originally. Which is false, because it was the only reason I even brought her there. So I asked why his notes stated that it was cherry eye. I asked whether he was lying about the cherry eye or whether the other vet was lying about the notes. He refused to answer the question. I cannot say enough good things about this vet clinic. My 8 week old puppy was sick and they were able to fit her in quickly. Three days later she became very ill so we rushed back and they took such good care of her, told us everything that was going on. They were so caring and helpful. Both vets (depending on who was working) called me multiple times to discuss results and when we finally took her home they would call to see how she was. When I found a sore on her hip I was able to email a picture and the vet called me to tell me his thoughts without having to bring her in. I highly recommend this animal hospital.

Very dissapointed in St Norbert Animal Hospitals service and customer service. We took our dog to get spay, they left her tied in her full harness all night to sleep (which makes no sense she must of been so uncomfortable) Because of this she chewed right through it. I got the run around for 2 weeks then when I finally get a hold of the manager they say it's not their fault and blamed me the customer. Ridiculous. They declined replacement of our harness.

Then in Nov of 2015 she went into heat again, I looked it up and read it could be a phantom heat once but if it happens again to take her in as the doc could of missed something. She went into heat again March 2016 so I took her in the doc said it was impossible for her to go into heat again. And basically told me I my lying or nuts. He told me to take her home and call them "if" it happened again.
Well as I expected June 2016 she went into heat for a 3rd time. I called right away on a Sunday and they schedule me to take her for surgery at 8am Monday morning which I was happy about.
I told the vet tec man when I brought her in I would be back to pick her up after 8pm and he confirmed they were open till 9pm.
He also mentioned someone would call me when my cat was up from surgery.
At 2:11pm still no call I called them my self to check up. The lady transferred me to the back to check on my cat and said she was awake and doing ok.
I told her I would pick her up after 8pm.
I received a call at 3:30pm to "follow up" with me on how she was doing and told me the same info the first person said. I told that person too that I would pick my cat up after 8pm.
I missed a call from the Vet reception at 7:11pm and called them just after 8pm.
She was frantic wondering when I would going to come get my cat as they have been trying to call me "ALL DAY" to schedule s pick up or my cat.
I bluntly said "bullshit" I have spoke to a number of people today and told them all I would be there after 8pm, which I was there by 8:30pm.
When I got there yes indeed they missed taking out part of her ovary and kindly showed me the quarter size piece they took out of her.
It is tragic enough to get fixed once never mind twice.
From the lack of organization with the reception staff and the lack to attention to detail with the doctor I will not be back to this vet .

We brought our cat Tito in for a teeth cleaning. They were quick, to the point, and didn't add a bunch of charges to our bill, which usually happens at other vets. I can tell that they're truly passionate about animals which made me feel relieved as we had to leave Tito there for the day. They gave great service and advice. They even gave us a free bag of cat food as a part of a promotion. I will definitely be going back for future services. :)

Wouldn't trust this vet at all. Only dr brar is supposed to touch our animals but when he went in for a neuter they got another vet to do the job and completely botched it. Now they gave me another quote of 550 to fix the pancake flap that used to be his balls that we originally asked to be removed.

Brought my 15-year-old cat who was under 5 pounds to the St.Norbert Animal Hospital because she wasn’t putting on weight. She got her blood tested and the results showed that her UREA aka her kidney health was almost maxed out at 19.5mmol/L (should be between 5.7-12.9) and that her TT4 aka thyroid level was 73 nmol/L (should be between 10-60).
Clearly seeing that her kidneys were already extremely high, Dr. Narinder Brar still prescribed her 2.5 Felimazole, two tablets a day for one month. Side note - The bottle had 38 days-worth of pills, so over his prescribed amount.
After a month, my cat became highly vocal, had lost her balance and could barely stand; let alone walk. She had blood in her urine and completely stopped eating. Knowing that she was in pain, I booked her another appointment and they did another blood test.
This time the results showed that the pills brought her TT4 (thyroid) back to normal range at 12 nmol/L but her UREA (kidney level) to 35.9 mmol/L. Way above normal levels of between 5.7-12.9! Also, her ALT (liver levels) were previously at 87 U/L which is normal (12-130) but after the pills, it has dropped to 10 U/L. It’s amazing that she’s still alive at this point.
All this time, the vet Narinder Brar, recommended her the wrong dosage and now she’s paying for it. He tried to fix one problem by worsening and creating another. A simple Google search says not to give cats with high kidney levels this medication and that it should only be used for 21 days.
We have now stopped giving her the 2.5 Felimazole pills in hopes that her severely damaged kidneys will heal. I now have to force-feed her food through a syringe and carry her everywhere she goes. If she doesn’t heal we’ll need to end her suffering by euthanasia.
I am extremely disappointed and frustrated that this so-called expert gave her the wrong dosage and hopefully it doesn’t cost her, her life.

Definitely a caring environment for our pets. Very pleasant experience with absolutely no surprises on the bill and a lot less than we expected to pay for the services performed.

Amazing front staff (professional, friendly and helpful). The vet we saw was exceptional. She was knowledgeable, super friendly, handled our nervous dog perfectly and administered a shot without so much as a flinch from our dog. Their fees are much less than our previous vet. All in all we had a great experience at St. Norbert Vet and glad we switched.

I told him she wasn't constipated. He said after this, if it doesn't work a blood test has to be done. What does a blood test have to do with a hairball? The receptionist told me normally an xray is done when a hairball is suspected. Yet, he kept ignoring that I'm certain she's got a hairball, and she very well could have a blockage that could kill her. He'd rather give me false diagnosis so he can get another $180 for the blood test, then, what, another $180 for an xray? I know my cat, and I am not stupid, this guy is a complete sham, and honestly I wouldn't be surprised if he let your pet die just to get the most cash from you.

Took my cat in about 8 months ago because of an ear infection. Infection came back this week and I asked to buy more ear drops. Was told over the phone I needed to bring my cat in for an examination to make sure it wasn't anything more serious and if it turned out all she needed was more ear drops I wouldn't be charged for the examination. Brought my cat in and was told all she needed was the same ear drops but they insisted I pay for the exam. I ended up paying because I didn't want my pet to suffer but I feel lied to and taken advantage of. On top of being lied to about not charging an exam fee I also could have ordered the medication online for a fraction of what they charged.I really liked this vet before but will not be going back ever again.

We've been bringing our dog, Ross here ever since we got him. The front staff and Technicians are super friendly, compassionate, and knowledgeable. Dr. Braha is always very gentle with our dog and very thorough. He explains everything very clearly and doesn't do any unnessecary tests or procedures to tack on charges. Their prices are incredibly fair. Many times when I go up to pay I'm pleasantly surprised to know the cost wasn't nearly what I thought it was going to be. I also purchase our dogs food from them and they always recieve the order quickly and let me know what it's ready for pick up. I've also seen the same food in the same size bag that I buy for almost $20 more at other vet offices. Love this office and will continue to come here. Highly recommended.

Dr Braha told me it was conjunctivitis (false) and did a 5 second scratch test that cost $25. He then told me it was from trauma and prescribed $40 anti-inflammatory eye drops. Then when I got home, I looked up some pictures online and realized that this was a very clear case of “cherry eye”. Called the vet back and brought my dog in to see the other vet... in the same office. This vet told me that it is cherry eye and that surgery is the only solution. He looked back in the notes from Dr Braha and said that the original diagnosis was cherry eye. Strange, that’s not what Dr Braha told me. I asked why was I told it was conjunctivitis and sent away? Why was I given drops? Why was a scratch test done? He said he didn’t know. I called three other vets and asked them about the scratch test and eye drops. All three told me that for cherry eye, both are completely unnecessary and would not help. Surgery is the only solution. I then spoke with Dr Braha and he told me that there was no cherry eye when I was there originally. Which is false, because it was the only reason I even brought her there. So I asked why his notes stated that it was cherry eye. I asked whether he was lying about the cherry eye or whether the other vet was lying about the notes. He refused to answer the question. I asked if he was just running up my bill with the test and drops, knowing that I would have to bring the dog back for another appointment when it didn't go away. this clinic is one of the few open on Sundays. I have had to use this clinic several times when my regular vet close to home is closed. This clinic has always been welcoming and the vets have been kind. special thanks for helping my baby girl forever sleep on an emergency basis after losing her painful battle with osteosarcoma. because you were available and willing to see her, she did not have to suffer another night and was allowed to go with dignity.

I cannot say enough good things about this vet clinic. My 8 week old puppy was sick and they were able to fit her in quickly. Three days later she became very ill so we rushed back and they took such good care of her, told us everything that was going on. They were so caring and helpful. Both vets (depending on who was working) called me multiple times to discuss results and when we finally took her home they would call to see how she was. When I found a sore on her hip I was able to email a picture and the vet called me to tell me his thoughts without having to bring her in. I highly recommend this animal hospital.

Very dissapointed in St Norbert Animal Hospitals service and customer service. We took our dog to get spay, they left her tied in her full harness all night to sleep (which makes no sense she must of been so uncomfortable) Because of this she chewed right through it. I got the run around for 2 weeks then when I finally get a hold of the manager they say it's not their fault and blamed me the customer. Ridiculous. They declined replacement of our harness.

I took my female cat to get fixed a little over a year ago , that experience went well.
Then in Nov of 2015 she went into heat again, I looked it up and read it could be a phantom heat once but if it happens again to take her in as the doc could of missed something. She went into heat again March 2016 so I took her in the doc said it was impossible for her to go into heat again. And basically told me I my lying or nuts. He told me to take her home and call them "if" it happened again.
Well as I expected June 2016 she went into heat for a 3rd time. I called right away on a Sunday and they schedule me to take her for surgery at 8am Monday morning which I was happy about.
I told the vet tec man when I brought her in I would be back to pick her up after 8pm and he confirmed they were open till 9pm.
He also mentioned someone would call me when my cat was up from surgery.
At 2:11pm still no call I called them my self to check up. The lady transferred me to the back to check on my cat and said she was awake and doing ok.
I told her I would pick her up after 8pm.
I received a call at 3:30pm to "follow up" with me on how she was doing and told me the same info the first person said. I told that person too that I would pick my cat up after 8pm.
I missed a call from the Vet reception at 7:11pm and called them just after 8pm.
She was frantic wondering when I would going to come get my cat as they have been trying to call me "ALL DAY" to schedule s pick up or my cat.
I bluntly said "bullshit" I have spoke to a number of people today and told them all I would be there after 8pm, which I was there by 8:30pm.
When I got there yes indeed they missed taking out part of her ovary and kindly showed me the quarter size piece they took out of her.
It is tragic enough to get fixed once never mind twice.
From the lack of organization with the reception staff and the lack to attention to detail with the doctor I will not be back to this vet .

We brought our cat Tito in for a teeth cleaning. They were quick, to the point, and didn't add a bunch of charges to our bill, which usually happens at other vets. I can tell that they're truly passionate about animals which made me feel relieved as we had to leave Tito there for the day. They gave great service and advice. They even gave us a free bag of cat food as a part of a promotion. I will definitely be going back for future services. :)
