Called at 7:56pm Friday (Jan 8 2017) for an emergency with my turtle which ended up completely dislocating her "thumb" and needing surgery. Receptionist asked who was the regular doctor for the turtle but my turtle has never seen a doctor before and they told me they couldn't help me. Gladly will never go there.

Very knowledgeable and kind people working at this clinic, I wholeheartedly recommend them. My dogs and I personally go see Dr. Berry and I could never say enough good things about him. Not only is he a great vet, he is extremely kind to our pets and makes them feel relaxed and happy (and us as well) which can be very hard to find. Our dog Patch was not feeling well last week, she went off her food for a few days and seemed to be in a lot of discomfort. Patch is an older dog so when I took her to the Douglas Animal Hospital I was prepared for the worst. Dr. Jewett was amazing, she spent time to explain what my options were and gave me hope. Patch ended up having emergency surgery to remove a blockage in her bowel. She is recovering very quickly and is almost back to her old self. Thank you to Dr. Jewett and the staff who assisted her for operating on Patch. A special thank you to Dr. Jewett for her dedication and kindness and professional manner in which she showed me. Also thank you to Dr. Barry for looking after Patch while she remained at the hospital until the next day. The vets and the staff at the hospital are all friendly and very knowledgeable. I would recommend them to anyone who cares about their pets!

Our Lily had taken sick a few months ago and took her to another clinic. Not much was done to find out what was wrong. Took her back again and still didn't get what we needed to know. So we decided to get a second opinion. Turned out what we thought was a minor issue turned into a a cancerous lump. Lily has had 2 treatments of chemo and meds in there every day and she is doing so much better. The trip to Douglas has been a great thing for all of us...especially Lily. She went from not eating or drinking and sleeping all the time to wanting to play, snuggle, love us, drinking and eating 3 meals a day. She is like one of the family. We really thought we were going to lose her but with the help and care of all the staff and vets at the Douglas Animal Hospital, they have brought her back!! We are all super thankful!!
