It's been two times that the vet has advised me to take a blood test, the cost of $ 400 for each of my visits. I ask for the results, I am told that my cat's toxins are high. I ask why, I'm told we do...
It's been two times that the vet has advised me to take a blood test, the cost of $ 400 for each of my visits. I ask for the results, I am told that my cat's toxins are high. I ask why, I'm told we don't know. I ask why her toxins are high. I am told, it is not known exactly. I ask does she have cancer? I am not answered. My cat was having difficulty eating. I asked did you check her throat and teeth? Again this has not been done. With a blood test one should be able to have answers. I was never given the results of his two tests for $ 800 and no results. I am told that another test can be done for $ 300-400. During this time, my cat is wasting away. He receives an antibiotic and appetite pills, I am given an anti-vomiting agent which I return, because my cat did not vomit nor had diarrhea(30$for three pills). I am really disappointed, when we pay such a large amount of money and we ask for results and we have nothing, it tears the heart. Today, a simple prick on the finger can tell us if we have diabetes. Did my cat have diabetes, did he have traces of cancer, just had an infection, an abscess in his mouth, how much money should I have paid to find out what his blood was showing? I'll never know, because I never got to see the results.

We couldn't have asked for better care. The staff was very accommodating with our emergency visits. Dr. Bill was with us every step of the way and right on track with his diagnosis. His love for the fur babies is evident, making his own personal sacrifices for them. They were also more than fair with the vet fees.
Unfortunately, we eventually had to say goodbye to our little Mia but I'm so glad she was under such good care and received the very best. Thank you to all the staff for your love and care toward us during such a difficult time.

I have been here several times and have NEVER been disappointed. Their obvious care is evident in every staff member. It feels like your are with family so you know you never need to worry about your babies. I've had quite a few sad experiences where I have lost my kids; Hometown vets and staff have been a rock for me to help me get through it. Wouldn't take them anywhere else.....

I took my kitten in to have him checked. He was having some issues and just didn’t seem himself. We got him to the vet all good and they kept him overnight to be sure he was okay. They performed several procedures and tests to ensure he was okay, but told me they couldn’t get a sample of pee because he just wouldn’t. I live not even 2 minutes from their clinic and he peed in his crate on the way home, so I found this hard to believe. But, they sent me home with pills to crush up in his food and a liquid medication for him. After finishing the round of medication, I noticed the same behaviour in him, this time worse. I took him in in the morning, and they told me when I picked him up that had I left it until I got home from work, I would have found him dead. They treated him for a UTU when in reality he had crystals (similar to kidney stones). They treated him for this UTI and made his condition worse, almost to the point of death,which they admitted. They then told me I had to have him on a special vet recommended food that cost 150$ a bag, and told me he would be in danger of death if I fed him anything else. I bought the bag, and have since switched his food from the formula to a simple wet food, and he’s doing better then when I’m the recommended formula. After all of this, they made me pay for the procedures and tests they performed the first and second time, including paying for the medications both times, when the first time around they put my baby in danger. The nurses, however, are very generous and lovely women.

My dog loves him, she lets him pick her up and she doesn't let anyone (especially men) pick her up. Seriously shes known my sisters for 15 years as children and she doesn't trust them that much. If I think something's wrong, I'll come in any time and not feel like we're a waste of their time or an inconvience. I like feeling like my dog is the priority because she is to me. Always a call for a check in, always free to give me information. I like a straight up answer, not a beat around the bush.

If you're looking for a veterinary hospital in or around Fredericton, Hometown Vet is the best spot to go. Moving from PEI to Fredericton we were nervous on finding a reliable vet that we could trust, and we had one bad experience at another vet when we first moved here. We quickly needed to find another vet to rectify the issue that arose from a misdiagnosis at another vet and Hometown did it. Not only has Hometown provided the absolute best care for our dogs, they've walked us through the steps after and the recovery every step of the way. What is even better is how much they all genuinely care about your pets, with check up calls and after surgery we needed to e-mail the DR and he responded promptly to ensure our dog was OK. Our dog has now gone through 2 surgeries at Hometown Veterinary Clinic, our new Puppy has had all of her needles and the other dog has her 1st appointment coming up. Going to the vet doesn't have to make you nervous or anxious, not if you're at the right vet, one that you can trust that is honest and reliable but more importantly puts the pets first. So far we've dealt with Dr. John and Dr. Bill, and I imagine the other vets and staff there are just as phenomenal as they are.

He is always trying to do the best thing for us (for our pets and for our pockets) and he really looks out for your best interest. I honestly could not recommend any one more!

Amazing experience with Dr. Bill and staff at hometown veterinary clinic. After dealing with another not so great vet in Fredericton, Dr. Bill and his staff took my dog Sadie in and took great care of her after getting hit by a car the day before then turned away with nothing done from another vet. I would highly recommend Hometown Veterinary Clinic to anyone looking for somewhere to take their fur babies

5 stars to all of the staff at Hometown Vet Hospital! It may not have ended in our favour, our poor Chloe crossed that rainbow bridge, but she was in extremely good care through the whole process. Dr. Chelsea and Dr. Bill were truly invested in figuring out what was wrong and helping our girl. They did everything they could do, and was very considerate of our financial situation. Unfortunately our Chloe had an incurable disease, and as soon as they found out they didn't want her to suffer any longer. Thank you Hometown Vet Hospital for everything you did for Chloe, it will never be forgotten or surpassed the effort you all put into her case.

Cannot say enough wonderful things about these guys. After moving here with our 7yr old Rotti, who has a really hard time with vets, they bent over backwards with their availability to help us with some sudden issues; showing lots of patience and creative ways to sedate her for xrays and surgery. Very grateful for the love and care they showed our baby girl. You can absolutely trust them with the care of your furbaby.

It is without reservation that I endorse Dr Huttges and his team for doing their best for my 12+ yr Golden Chow, whom passed last week. The doctor stayed late awaiting my flight home to say my final goodbye and took such great care in arranging for my dog's cremation. My partner, equally impressed with the doctor's compassion, will change vets and should we add another, adopted from the SPCA, Hometown Vet will be our go-to for our pets' needs. Thank you again for helping me and my older dog.

We couldn't have asked for better care. The staff was very accommodating with our emergency visits. Dr. Bill was with us every step of the way and right on track with his diagnosis. His love for the fur babies is evident, making his own personal sacrifices for them. They were also more than fair with the vet fees.
Unfortunately, we eventually had to say goodbye to our little Mia but I'm so glad she was under such good care and received the very best. Thank you to all the staff for your love and care toward us during such a difficult time.

I've had quite a few sad experiences where I have lost my kids; Hometown vets and staff have been a rock for me to help me get through it. Wouldn't take them anywhere else.....

I took my kitten in to have him checked. He was having some issues and just didn’t seem himself. We got him to the vet all good and they kept him overnight to be sure he was okay. They performed several procedures and tests to ensure he was okay, but told me they couldn’t get a sample of pee because he just wouldn’t. I live not even 2 minutes from their clinic and he peed in his crate on the way home, so I found this hard to believe. But, they sent me home with pills to crush up in his food and a liquid medication for him. After finishing the round of medication, I noticed the same behaviour in him, this time worse. I took him in in the morning, and they told me when I picked him up that had I left it until I got home from work, I would have found him dead. They treated him for a UTU when in reality he had crystals (similar to kidney stones). They treated him for this UTI and made his condition worse, almost to the point of death,which they admitted. They then told me I had to have him on a special vet recommended food that cost 150$ a bag, and told me he would be in danger of death if I fed him anything else. I bought the bag, and have since switched his food from the formula to a simple wet food, and he’s doing better then when I’m the recommended formula. After all of this, they made me pay for the procedures and tests they performed the first and second time, including paying for the medications both times, when the first time around they put my baby in danger. The nurses, however, are very generous and lovely women.

If I think something's wrong, I'll come in any time and not feel like we're a waste of their time or an inconvience. I like feeling like my dog is the priority because she is to me. If you're looking for a veterinary hospital in or around Fredericton, Hometown Vet is the best spot to go. Moving from PEI to Fredericton we were nervous on finding a reliable vet that we could trust, and we had one bad experience at another vet when we first moved here. We quickly needed to find another vet to rectify the issue that arose from a misdiagnosis at another vet and Hometown did it. Not only has Hometown provided the absolute best care for our dogs, they've walked us through the steps after and the recovery every step of the way. What is even better is how much they all genuinely care about your pets, with check up calls and after surgery we needed to e-mail the DR and he responded promptly to ensure our dog was OK. Our dog has now gone through 2 surgeries at Hometown Veterinary Clinic, our new Puppy has had all of her needles and the other dog has her 1st appointment coming up. Going to the vet doesn't have to make you nervous or anxious, not if you're at the right vet, one that you can trust that is honest and reliable but more importantly puts the pets first. So far we've dealt with Dr. John and Dr. Bill, and I imagine the other vets and staff there are just as phenomenal as they are.

Amazing experience with Dr. Bill and staff at hometown veterinary clinic. After dealing with another not so great vet in Fredericton, Dr. Bill and his staff took my dog Sadie in and took great care of her after getting hit by a car the day before then turned away with nothing done from another vet. I would highly recommend Hometown Veterinary Clinic to anyone looking for somewhere to take their fur babies

5 stars to all of the staff at Hometown Vet Hospital! It may not have ended in our favour, our poor Chloe crossed that rainbow bridge, but she was in extremely good care through the whole process. Dr. Chelsea and Dr. Bill were truly invested in figuring out what was wrong and helping our girl. They did everything they could do, and was very considerate of our financial situation. Unfortunately our Chloe had an incurable disease, and as soon as they found out they didn't want her to suffer any longer. Thank you Hometown Vet Hospital for everything you did for Chloe, it will never be forgotten or surpassed the effort you all put into her case.

Cannot say enough wonderful things about these guys. After moving here with our 7yr old Rotti, who has a really hard time with vets, they bent over backwards with their availability to help us with some sudden issues; showing lots of patience and creative ways to sedate her for xrays and surgery. Very grateful for the love and care they showed our baby girl. You can absolutely trust them with the care of your furbaby.

It is without reservation that I endorse Dr Huttges and his team for doing their best for my 12+ yr Golden Chow, whom passed last week. The doctor stayed late awaiting my flight home to say my final goodbye and took such great care in arranging for my dog's cremation. My partner, equally impressed with the doctor's compassion, will change vets and should we add another, adopted from the SPCA, Hometown Vet will be our go-to for our pets' needs.
