Bienvenue au centre vétérinaire The Oaks Vet, ou les soins de vos animaux et le service a la clientèle sont notre prioritée.
On your arrival at the Oaks Vet, you will be greeted by one of our dedicated team members who will strive to provide you with the absolute best veterinary care possible.
Our staff is highly qualified and conscious of the many facets involved in visits to the veterinarian, from explaining vaccination protocols to understanding the stress felt during an emergency situation. We pride ourselves in our love for animals and the special care we take to make visits enjoyable for them. We also offer longer than average appointments to get to know you and your pet better and luxury boarding.
The Oaks Vet is a different kind of veterinary hospital, that is why it is called a medical centre. Our general practice caters to annual exams, vaccinations, and surgeries such as spays and neuters. For the patients who aren’t feeling well, our doctors offer advanced care in internal medicine, surgery, dermatology, acupuncture, cardiology, chemotherapy, behaviour and exotics medicine.
The Oaks Vet is fully equipped to diagnose and treat ongoing illnesses. We are staffed 24 hours a day to provide care for hospitalized patients and for emergencies.
The referral practice provides the above services for animals, who require 24 hour care or advanced testing not available at their regular vet’s office. We see referral cases from Moncton as well as the rest of the province and Nova Scotia.

The Pros: It's easy & fast to get an appointment, good location, lot's of parking. Clean. Honest staff. Friendly secretary. I think her name was Alison. The experience I had with my leopard gecko did not meet my expectations. After a recommendation from a friend, I brought my leopard gecko in because one of his eyes was stuck shut, he wasn't eating and was lethargic. The innitial session was okay. I felt like Dr T was honest about what he could(or couldn't) do and only made a diagnosis based on "what he could see with his eyes" as he put it. He did show me that he removed a ball of tissue from my geckos mouth, looked at it under a microscope and it was infected. I left with antibiotics and eye ointment ($229). The next day my gecko was a lot worst and swollen but on the opposent side of his face . I was very worried so I made another appointment. I wasn't exactly sure what they did or which side because I wasn't allowed in the room. When I went back, they took my gecko away from me as soon as I got there and let me sit in the "waiting area" by myself. After about half an hour I inquired as to why I couldn't be with my pet and was told "covid". I can't help but feel that if it had been a dog, things might've been different. I have never experienced this at any other vet unless it's for surgery. Even after Covid. This follow up was $104 (reduced to $70- Thank you.) On my 3rd "progess exam" the vet, Dr T seemed kind of annoyed with me and made me feel like he was in a rush, that he had more important patients. This lizard is my little buddy that I have taken care of everyday for the past 15 years. I am paying a lot of money to talk to you because I am concerned. Eklipse should be treated with as much love and understanding as any other animal that they see. I dont think they are liscenced to treat reptiles - I don't think anyone in Moncton is. I do appreciate that they gave me a discount on my second visit, but the prices are still outreageous. On my last progress exam, Dr T looked into my geckos mouth(in a different room), told me the same thing he told me the last time and it cost $85. The last thing he said to me was "if he's better in 7 to 10 days you don't have to bother me anymore"... Did my Leopard Gecko get better? Sort of yeah... Could the experience at this clinic have been improved? Yes. Overall I did not feel like some of my concerns were taken seriously. I will not be taking my gecko or any of my other animals to this clinic. I would not recommend this place. Especially not for reptiles. Read Less

I had a appointment on March 5 2018, for my companion, best friend, as I am alone and also a senior that is also handicap. my small Shih Tzu Poodle, had some lumps on mostly her belly, and her hair was thinning on her backside and her neck.. I was very scared and was worrying all the time. I also wanted to get her shots. I even brought in a stool sample just in case. The appointment was set for first in morning as the only way I could get there was with my care giver who I had for 2 hours. I was taken into exam room and was told the vet would be right in. When she entered, I mentioned my worries and concerns.. She checked the lumps and told me they do not feel like anything bad because they were not connected to anything, likely fatty lumps even though she is not fat only 15lbs as for the hair loss she said it was likely something she was missing in her diet, advised omega3 fish oil in food.. I also asked if lumps may be ticks for that she said no, but she would get her a treatment go put on her neck, I found out it was only good for 1 month also she advised 2 pills for worms, even though none were seen, she never even looked at the stool. She then told me she wanted to check something out back and she would she me out front when done. I kept asking all the assistants about senior discounts before I went in and when I came out, as well as the vet before Babes was seen as I was on very limited income. They all said they would check.. I still don't know... I left there with her shots and a lot extras that I couldn't afford. I was charged for the shots which I went in for @ $21.40 each & Thyroxine @ $48.59 and then they charged me for the office visit of $78, blood work $112.19, revolution $32.96, 2 worm pills $19.96. With taxes my total for my dog Babes came to $384.68, and all I went in for was her needles and to ask about her hair and the lumps under her skin. Now I don't know how I am going to pay for my rent and hydro. Now I understand why seniors cannot afford to live when its people like this taking advantage of us. Very disappointed with the level of service I got from this establishment. My dog (son) had passed away and brought him there to get cremated. I had asked them when I could pick him up and I was told after my vacation. I dropped him off on Feb 1, and went back on the 20th and they had NO IDEA WHERE MY SON WAS. I went to the SPCA myself to ask where he was, and I was told that I could not pick him up that he had to be released to the vet. When going back to The Oak vet clinic at 3:45pm, I waited 15 minutes ringing the door with no one their after they had just called me to come down and get him... Very disappointed with the way they treated my son and the way they served me. I have 2 other family members and won't be going back. Read Less

Our dog stopped walking and eating over the weekend. We called to get an appointment and the staff were very prompt in responding. We had an appointment that day. After a few questions and physical the staff ordered blood work and an x-ray. It was suggested he needed hip surgery but we were given a few options from medicine to full surgery. Dr. Tremble took the time to explain all the various options and possible outcomes given our dogs age and condition. We opted for surgery as we felt very comfortable with the explanations and outcomes. Dr. Tremble did a fantastic job and kept us informed of the progress. The staff at the clinic were very understanding and called us to give us daily updates on Jake's condition. They have a very nice hospital with state of the art equipment. I had to go out of town and needed to pick our dog up at 4am. The staff were happy to accommodate my request. When I picked Jake up they gave me excellent discharge information with clearly printed medication information and what type of activities we could do to help rehab out dog. The clinic even called the next day to check on his progress. Jake is walking around and doing great just a few days after surgery. The Oak's did a great job and I would highly recommend this clinic to any pet owner. Read Less

I obviously dont want my lil geck baby to die, but I dont have 300$ just for them to check her and than whatever amount of money to pay for them to help her. Words can't describe how wonderful this emergency centre truly is.. My dog was suffering from a severe infection and her health was deteriorating rapidly. I was in a hysterical mess in Saint John, everything was closed because of labour day weekend. Once I got a hold of staff at Oaks Vet, they reassured me right away, and told me to bring her in ASAP. My dog Kavik had a 50/50 chance of surviving with surgery, but even so, I still felt reassured that I brought her to the best care institution that I possibly could have. All the staff showed empathy, and I felt safe leaving her in their care. They were supportive and kept good communication with me throughout the 3 days she spent in ICU, and were so helpful whenever I called back with questions post discharge. I cannot truly expressed how grateful I am to have my best friend back. Her recovery is going great, no complications and she's almost back to her old self again. <3 Thank you so much for all your help, care and compassion.Read Less

Called on a Saturday night with a frost warning out after finding 2 young kittens whos mother had been killed. Explained that we were a regular customer and the situation and hoped they would take the kittens. They refused and said we'd have to wait until Sunday at noon when the SPCA opened. We finally found a cat rescue that came and got them at 11:30 at night. The most un-caring vet clinic we've ever dealt with. And the last time we ever used them. Read Less

My dog was hit by a car and his front leg was destroyed I'm thousand of piece I rushed them to another vet that told us no one in NB could do the surgery to fix my dog. They sent my to PEI were they told me it was going to cost around 2000-2500 after a long day of surgery it come to little over 5500 and that's not counting the 600$ it cost at the other vet to tell me that his leg was broken and they couldn't do anything. Couple months after the PEI surgery it failed and they told us we can either leave it as is or another surgery. Well I had no more money max out the pet insurance and a dog in pain . I called oaks vet and they took him in they fixed him and now you couldn't even tell he was hit by a car. And did I mentions the price and work they did was much better than PEI and WAY cheaper. Called every vet in town to make payment arrangements as im a single mom of 2 and with Christmas less than a week away money was tight. I just paid the previous vet 300. For pretty much nothing. Oaks vet were the only ones willing to help me. They made extremely reasonable payment arrangements they took amazing xrays and got down to the cause. Unfortunately my lil man was put down in the end. However the staff was amazing. They gave me time with him before the procedure and so much time after. These people are truly amazing and would recommend them to anyone that truly cares for their animal cuz they do the minute you walk through the door.

Read Less

I've been bringing my pets to the Oaks for several years and have nothing but praise for the work they've done. The frontline staff are consistently friendly and informative; and the vets have always gone above and beyond in the care they've given my critters. Their hours of operation can't be beat, which makes it easy to get an appointment when needed, or right away during emergencies. Brett and his team are worth every penny! Read Less

These guys seem to be out for money more than anything. Overcharging for simple procedures, performing extra work that isn't necessary, and taking 4 times as long as it should. Plus, they now want to charge another $58+tax for a simple follow up... which of course is going to last about 5 mins if that. They are nice people, but the amount they charge will mean I won't be going back there if there is any other option. EDIT: adding a couple of stars because they did a good job and our cat is healthy and happy. I was angry with the total cost. Read Less

I love my cats, 2 out of the 3 we have are rescue kitties. They are indoor only cats my oldest is 7 and my youngest us around 4. Some how they came inti contact with fleas and one developed worms. Having small children this thought scared me. After speaking to the nurses and staff at Oaks and getting the proper medication for all 3 cars to be on the safe side, I can definitely say they answered every possible question I could think of, put my mind at ease, very pleasant to talk to. :) Read Less

Daughter of the vet started calling me poor and saying I shouldnt have my geckos if i cant afford to save them because theyre going to die, but only seems like theres something wrong witg her eyes but because Im 16 and dont have 300$ just for them to tell me whats wrong with my gecko, im poor?? I obviously dont want my lil geck baby to die, but I dont have 300$ just for them to check her and than whatever amount of money to pay for them to help her. All the reviews on this vet is horrible. 3.2, lowest ratings for all the vets in moncton NB. This place probably shouldnt even be open. I dont even want to give this place a 1 start but its the only way to let you guys know about how this place only cares about the money. Read Less

Way to go Oaks vet ! Thanks for helping my puppy Tank!Read Less

This establishment and its staff is completely amazing. my cat who was seen at a previous vet the night before had xrays done and they just gave him pain meds sent us home all night my little boy was in pain. Thank you from the bottom of my heart the staff at oaks vet.Read Less
