This clinic is a complete nightmare. In general I feel the staff there are incompetent and the service was absolutely terrible and they are rip-offs. I regret ever taking my poor cat there and strongly do not recommend anyone taking there pets there for treatments. I cannot even give this clinic a one star rating. I work in the medical field. I speak up on behalf of my cat because if my cat was a human, this clinic would be sued. My cat was sick one Saturday morning and I did not mind to pay an extra emergency fee of 100 dollars for a vet to check him. My cat and I waited for 4 freakin hours in the waiting area before being seen. A vet technician came out then and just grabbed my pet out of my hands and told me she would be back in few minutes after she checks his temperature, etc. I was not happy that she was abrupt and just took my pet without asking and discouraged me accompanying my cat in the examination room. After the technician returned my cat, we waited for another hour before the doctor herself examined my cat. The doctor indicated my cat's bladder was blocked with fluid and the cat needed to be admitted for three days. She stepped out to work out Β an estimate of the costs. When she came back, she quoted a whopping $560. When I asked her if that total was for everything-medication, food and all the services, etc. for all three days, she said, Β "no". I asked her to recalculate so I get a true estimate. She recalculated in the backroom and then sent a technician to deliver me the quote the second time. The total was actually almost $900. What was the point of giving me a quote if you were not being truthful? Because of this stunt, I was suspicious if the vet was just milking me because my cat was not well and I love him very much. My cat and I were just left in the examination room. I had to go out after waiting 10 minutes to inquire if anyone was coming back to talk to me. When the vet returned, I asked the doctor to call me next day after they empty his bladder and I would decide if my cat should stay for a second and third night.Next day during my followup phone call, I asked the doctor to remove the IV and catheter and give me the necessary antibiotics and I would pick up my cat. Doctor called back and informed me there were complications with removing the catheter as they told me the Xrays indicated a stone stuck in his urethra. She highly recommended he needed surgery to remove the crystals and told me that it would cost an additional $1400-$1600 for this procedure. I picked up my cat to think about it overnight. When I went to the clinic, I Β requested to see my cat's x-rays. After seeing the xrays myself, I did not think that surgery was going to solve the problem. My cat's bladder was completely filled with stones and he is almsot 14years old . Β I am pissed that the doctor never showed me the Xrays until I asked. Instead she just suggested surgery. The vet probably has never had Β anyone ask Β her to go over Β the Xrays. Β Before I left the St. John's hospital, I prebooked an appt Tues morning in case I needed to put him down. When I saw how my cat was suffering on that Sunday after I took him home, I knew I had to put him down next day as soon as possible and could not wait til Tues.On Monday morning, I called the vet at 9am but only got their voicemail. I left a message requesting that they call me back ASAP to let me know if they have any appts available as I need the doctor to perform euthanasia. After 20 minutes, I still did not get a call back so I called another veterinarian clinic in town. Thankfully, the second clinic accomodated me and my cat within half hour.I turned off my phone during the euthanasia procedure. After I left the clinic, I checked my phone and there was a message from the first vet clinic. It was terrible; they left a message that they could offer payment plans for surgery but did not mention anything about euthanasia. I was courteous and called them to tell them that I had already put my cat down and to cancel the Tues. appt. That same afternoon, I returned a box of urinary SO wet canned food and packaged antibiotics to the St. John's hospital as it would be no use for me anymore. I reminded the woman at the front desk to cancel my Tues. because my cat was put down already. That same evening at 6:30pm, I got a call from St. John's vet hospital asking me if I wanted to still put my cat down? What the hell?I told the woman nicely that I had put my cat down already. This is not the worse of the comedy of errors. Next day(Tues afternoon), Β the St. John's vet hospital calls AGAIN. I ignored the call but listened to my phone message later. The doctor left a message asking how my cat was doing after the weekend. On behalf of my poor cat and also for all other pet lovers, this place is a horrible gong show and they should be very ashamed of themselves.I do not wish this to happen to anyone else. I am glad we went elsewhere in the end. Read Less
