My partner and I purchased a puppy that had a physical assessment completed by Dr Kelly Hodder at his 8 week vaccinations. Kelly Hodder marked all her findings as “normal”. We got our puppy when he was 11 weeks old and within 5 minutes of seeing him ambulate we knew something was seriously wrong. Within another 5 minutes, we were able to correctly diagnose his condition (later confirmed by another veterinarian) as his features/symptoms were so pronounced. We took the puppy for an emergency appointment where he was not only diagnosed with the “severe” condition affecting his front extremities, but also an eye condition affecting his bilateral eyes, that may also require surgery. We phoned Kelly Hodder after this emergency appointment to review her physical assessment and she was very RUDE, SHORT & DEFENSIVE. TAKE YOUR ANIMALS ELSEWHERE!

My cat, Tux, was a patient at Abercrombie Animal Hospital on November 23 and 24, 2021. Dr. Hodder treated me and my pet with such compassion and gentleness. It was a great comfort as I faced the inevitability of losing my cherished kitty. I am truly grateful to have had the time I needed to be with Tux before she passed. THANK YOU, DR. HODDER!

I cannot even fathom the last terrible review! I have been going to vets with animals and pets for many years in many provinces. Dr. Kelly is among the most amazing vets I have used for my pets. We have been going to her for at least twenty years. She understands our two Maine Coon cats are our children and she treats them with dignity, compassion and respect. When we have had to say good bye to pets she has been up front about their prospects when we long to keep them with us and very compassionate when we have had to let them go.
Do not listen to the reviewer who said not to take your pets to this clinic! No vet is more knowledgeable or caring than Dr. Kelly and if she feels she needs to discuss very serious issues with someone else in the veterinary field, she does.
Thank you, Dr. Kelly for your love and understanding of our precious fur children!

DO NOT GO HERE...Took our cat in to be fixed, ended up paying just over 700 dollars and had to go to another vet office to make sure that she was treated with any sort of dignity and respect as a resu...
DO NOT GO HERE...Took our cat in to be fixed, ended up paying just over 700 dollars and had to go to another vet office to make sure that she was treated with any sort of dignity and respect as a result of pure incompitance...to go into detail we were NOT notified before bringing in our cat for her surgery that they had been dealing with alot of very sick animals over the last few weeks and that they were contagious, instead they chose to tell us that there was no sick animals that she could have come into contact with when the vets secretary told us the complete opposite. On Saturday evening we had to call an after hour line to have our kitten looked at because she would not stop vomiting pain meds were given along with an xray and an anti nausea shot...24 hours later she started vomiting again we took her back to the abercrombie vet office where she had her surgery and we were told that they would like to monitor her overnight...to which we were fine with...the next morning I am told that she had spiked a fever and did not eat anything all night, I am told that once again they just want to monitor her no treatment had been given. I then call another vet to seek a second opinion...and I was told to bring her in asap so they can start assesing her properly with blood work, urinalysis, and put her on a iv drip and anti biotics once they find out what exactly is wrong..I then go back to inform the vet of the secondary info i was given and was given nothing but attitude and was told that they want to use iv fluids and blood work as a last resort, I was shocked to hear that and needless to say took our kitten to the east side animal hospital and after 2 days of being in a proper vet clinic and being on anti biotics and a IV drip she is now fine from an infection that she had one hundred percent recieved from the filthy abercrombie animal hospital...do not take your animal to the Abercrombie vet it is sickening to see that they would rather make 150 dollars versus Informing pet owners that there could be a risk of their animal becoming sick because she will be around contagious animals

I have had a lot of vets over the years being from the Halifax Regional Municipal area. I am now driving over an hour and a half to save lots of money.
The Vet is very in-tune with the animals.

I have had a lot of vets over the years being from the Halifax Regional Municipal area. I am now driving over an hour and a half to save lots of money.
The Vet is very in-tune with the animals.
She does not overcharge for services and operations.
She tends to be able to find the root of the problem and treat it efficiently unlike what I have experienced from other vets.
I have 3 Medium/Large Dogs and 3 Cats FYI
I highly recommend this hosiptal

Few years back my cat was taken here to be de-clawed and fixed, prices were horrible, and my cat came back tormented, he was very friendly and playful but when we got him back he wouldn't leave his cage unless he needed to use the washroom and could be touched, to this day he hates strangers and hides places and it doesn't help that he has only been there 3 times in 7 years and has the nickname " the Satan cat" when he goes there, he has turned from a kitten that never bit or clawed anyone to vicious and has to be put on anastatic for a simple check up so he doesn't try to attack.

I cannot even fathom the last terrible review! I have been going to vets with animals and pets for many years in many provinces. Dr. Kelly is among the most amazing vets I have used for my pets. We have been going to her for at least twenty years. She understands our two Maine Coon cats are our children and she treats them with dignity, compassion and respect. When we have had to say good bye to pets she has been up front about their prospects when we long to keep them with us and very compassionate when we have had to let them go.
