All vets charge in the same way, $40-$50 bucks for the appointment, no matter what the problem or how long it takes to diagnose. I recently lost my my dog to a terrible disease, and the support, time and genuine care and concern that I recieved from all of the staff at Antigonish Veterinary Clinic was amazing. We had a series of appointments and blood tests, and every single staff member knew what was going on and was pulling for us. When the tough decision to put him down came, they gave us all the time in the world to be with him. I know that they see animals being put down on a regular basis for a variety of reasons but I felt their compassion. This was not a routine day at the office, they are true animal lovers and they greived with us. That kind of service does not come with a price tag. To feel that kind of support on one of the worst days of my life was invaluable.Yes, the vet bill stings...every time you go in, whether it is for a surgery, a shot or just a check up. I cannot disagree with that. I have lived in Ontario, British Columbia and now Nova Scotia and it is the same everywhere. I've decieded to suck it up, and continue to have pets and care for them with professional medical support. Afterall, what would we do without our furry friends. RIP Harley Dog xoxoxo Read Less
