I had a very different experience at Vetcetera. My dog is a rescue and has only one eye. I got home at around 4:30 p.m. on a Friday afternoon in the fall to find that his eye was really red with a lot of discharge. I tried to take him to my vet but the doctors had already left for the day. So, I tried to take him to Vetcetera. First, I didn't realize that the front door is actually the door to the surgery area and I walked right in (it wasn't locked). A vet was there speaking with the owners of an animal who obviously was receiving care. The vet politely but firmly told me I was in the wrong place and to go to the side door. I felt very awkward about that the whole thing and found myself apologizing and backing out. I went around to the side door. When I entered, there was a very charming man leaning against the counter talking to the vet technician about his cat. They were having a long and very friendly conversation. I stood and listened and listened and listened. When she finally asked if I had an appointment I said no and I tried to explain what was happening but she did not appear to be interested in my dogs plight. She told me she would be with me shortly and continued her conversation with the charming man. My dog cut his foot badly which involved a trip to the emergency clinic late on a Sunday night. The staff at Vetcetera where very helpful and regularly squeezed us in to check his foot . I was not charged for these checks that were for my peace of mind. I am very grateful for all of them and am completely confident in their abilities. Read Less

I was formally a client here, I received a notice in the mail saying it was time for my dog to have his annual appointment. Once I got there, it wasn't for needles, just a overall check-up. At that time they asked if I wanted a lyme test done, I agreed because I did remove a tick from him about 2 weeks prior. I paid for the voluntary test & check up. A couple days later, I got a devastating phone call informing me that my dog had lymes disease. Back to the vet I went to get more tests done & get medication to treat this lyme's disease along with soft food for a 60 lb dog, followed by urine & stool samples. My dog was so sick from the meds, he was puking & crapping all the time & everywhere. After about a week, I got another call from Vetcetera informing me that he does NOT have lymes disease, he has KIDNEY FAILURE and needs to go to PEI asap. I told them at the time, "screw you" - That was 7 - 8 years ago & my dog has been great every since. He's now 12. I wouldn't recommend this place to anybody!Read Less

When my lab passed away 6 years ago, I swore I would never have another pet....I now have 2 dogs. I decided to use a new vet clinic when I adopted Riley the Puggle and discovered Vetcetera about 6 years ago. I have continued that care with Rocco, the second dog I adopted about 3 years ago. My boys love going to the vet!!! They are pampered and loved by a courteous, professional and knowledgeable team. Through skin conditions, eye surgery, weight loss programs and yearly check ups, the staff at Vetcetera have provided outstanding service!! There are no surprises, everything is itemized and identified and all associated costs are reasonable and fair. These guys deserve a 5 star rating and I would highly recommend Vetcetera to anyone!!! My cat is a 12-year-old cranky pants feline. We were going away for nine nights and there is no way she could be left at home with a visiting petsitter. One of her favourite displays of displeasure at being left alone for long periods of time is to poop on our bed. I'm not kidding.Our previous cat boarding kennel had closed so I was relieved to discover the friendly animal-loving staff at Vetcetera. Plus Vetcetera was recommended by our former boarding facility which had high standards.From the moment I called, I could tell these folks would look after my cat perhaps better than myself (well not really because she won't let people touch her), but they wanted to make sure they had all the cat's relevant health and personality information before we showed up.Upon showing up, they did a throrough assessment of my cat's health,made sure she didn't have fleas and, most impressively, weighed her to create a baseline for food consumption while she was there. I also had to initial that if her weight fell below a ceratin limit that the vetcetra folks could take measures, in this case tempting my cat with wet food, to keep her weight up.The "condo" was a bit small but my cat only weighs 7 pounds so small spaces suit her fine. If you have a larger beast, you might want to book a double. The staff is very caring and the price was right. Less expensive than our previous spot although here you have to provide your own food. The environment was super clean and the staff true animal lovers.I returned to discover that my cat had been well cared for and paid a lot of attention despite her cranky disposition. If you need boarding for your cat, definitely give them a call. Read Less
