I have a female dog that was in heat and a male dog that I took into the hospital to be neutered and had taken precautions to make sure that my female was protected so he could not get her pregnant , I know she should have been fixed too but I was doing him first, the very first thing as soon as we got home from the hospital he went after her and started humping her, I called the hospital and was told that the hormones stay for a few days but there is no way that he can get her pregnant, just keep them away from each other because he should rest which I did , they later on a few hours later he gets her and they lock together and won't come apart, freaking I called the hospital and was told that there is no way he can get her pregnant and I will ask the dr here what to do to get them apart but don't worry he can't get her pregnant ,once the castration is done it's done , they are still stuck together 10 or more minutes later. I call the hospital back and I am told I don't know what to tell you, all I can say is he can't get her pregnant , a few minutes later I get a call back and I am told I have some bad news, he is still able to get her pregnant, should you not have told me this the first time I called right after I got home with him, I advise them that he is her sone and they tell me that they are dogs and dogs don't know or care, puppies will be fine other problem is whether you want puppies or not , I ask is there anything we can do to stop the pregnancy like with women the morning after pill and I was told to google search it, how NICE . I paid 300.00 dollars there today because I didn't want puppies. Very dissatisfied with the service there , should have stuck to animal medical hospital were they are professional and know what the hell they are doing, Sydney Animal hospital was quite a bit cheaper so I took him there just for that, I know why now they were cheaper because they don't know what the hell they are doing Read Less

Looking for a new vet after 2 terrible experiences in a week. Dr Mesher prescribed my dog antibiotics without weighing her, I brought her attention to this when she said the therapeutic dose was 20-30mg/kg and the record said my dog was 9.4 kg when she is in fact 11.3 kg, I said the 200mg dose wasn't in therapeutic range and Dr Mesher said it was "fine anyway" Dr Ramey did a tooth extraction on my dog, the very kind receptionist had to ask her more than once to come speak to me prior to her operation. After her extraction I was given no instructions, pain medication, and wasn't informed she was given stitches -- I'm still on hold trying to find out if these are disolvable as no vet or vet tech spoke to me after her procedure. Byron Buick was my vet for nearly 30 years, and when he moved to Sydney Animal Hospital, I went with him. I was heartbroken when he retired. But I knew Dr. Nicholson before he even became a vet, and I know that with him, my dogs are in good hands. Also, yesterday I had to have my ancient English Mastiff, Artie, put to sleep. Dr. Ruth Parker came to my home so that Artie could leave his life where he felt safe and comfortable. I can't say enough good about Dr. Parker right now. She made a horrible situation almost bearable. She took the time to talk with me and share memories, and she and her technician even helped my husband and me carry Artie to the spot where we were going to bury him. Dr. Parker was so gentle with Artie, and so compassionate with me. I didn't like her much at one point, years ago, when she wanted me out of the examining area when one of my dogs was being x-rayed. I mean, hell, Byron was always cool with me being there! But right now, Ruth, all is forgiven. You were simply amazing yesterday, and i can't thank you enough for your kind, caring manner.
