As I stare at the remains of my pet, I realize that I must write this review. I wasn't going to go public with this matter, but it would be an injustice to the memory of my dog if I stay silent. I am hoping that this saves another family or person the trauma and pain that I have experienced with this establishment. My dog had to be put down on June 19, 2018. I entrusted Greenwood Animal Hospital to have my dog cremated. I paid them and signed the forms for this to take place believing that they would respect my request in the time frame that they had promised. I waited a for the call on the day that the ashes would arrive but no call. I called the next day to find out why I hadn't received a notice for a pick up time. They told me that they needed to call the cremation facility to find out. Instead, I called the cremation facility and spoke with staff. They said they had no record of my dog. I became horrified thinking that perhaps she had been discarded. When I hung up with them, I received a phone call from Greenwood Animal Hospital. They told me that my pet hadn't even been sent and was still in their freezer because their staff had forgot to sign the necessary paperwork. I was angry, hurt, and disappointed that they could betray my trust and not even initiate the call about their error. I had to track down the body of my dog. I requested to see her frozen body, not by choice but to confirm that they were really sending my dog and not just making me another false promise. I was really devastated having to say goodbye to my pet again, over a week after her passing. I had to break the news to my family who were also hurt by the lack of care and respect for our pet's life. This was our loved one. They just forgot about her in a freezer, as if she meant nothing. I am livid right now. I requested cremation for my pet and paid $400 for the service. Because staff did not fill out the paperwork when necessary my pet's body has been in a freezer for over a week and not sent to the appropriate location for cremation. I was supposed to receive her remains yesterday but she hasn't even been sent yet. They are saying she will now be sent tomorrow, and I will receive the remains next week. That will make it 2 weeks. Do not request cremation services here. I feel so disrespected as I grieve this loss. They did not even initiate the call to tell me of their error. I had to do the tracking down of her body. I have taken my cats to the Greenwood Animal Hospital for the two years I've had them for their annual checkup and shots as well as getting the one microchipped that wasn't. Service was friendly and professional in a clean environment. Kitties were handled in way that didn't scare them. Prices were reasonable. Incredible visit today with staff at the this vet! My dog needed her booster and a yearly exam. Price was reasonable compared others vet we've been to and Jennifer answered every question I could possibly have. There was no judgement that we could only afford the visit for the dog and she coached me up on weight control for the older cat at home. I was sent away with a smile on my face and free samples in my pocket. I am very happy I decided to give this place a try, even after reading the other negative review. I know you guys are doing a good job of doing the right thing, it is just that I had a dog named Rory and he got token there by my dad for reasons I do not understand(he was not sick.) That weekend we were at our moms. When we were driving home to my dads he told us that he had to take Rory to the vet where he had to be put down. Now I can not have another dog because I can not suffer through the same thing again. Of course my dad got another dog. Her name is Chloe. I do not spend much time with her.
