Disappointing and terrible.
I have had this vet for 2 of my cats. I booked a vaccination for my newly added kitten, it would be his 2nd needle, I spoke to the clinic earlier in the day to confirm the appointment and then they called me back an hour later to do their own confirmation (odd, I know).
We drove the 20 minutes to get there and the receptionist came out and said they were sorry but they cant accept us because they cannot give an animal their 1st needle at this point, I said it was his 2nd needle, I told her I explained this on the original call and I am a long time client, she went back in and came out 5 minutes later saying because I didnt have papers to backup that it was his 2nd shot they wont take me.
I had some complaint to her and told her to remove me from their client list and they care so much for their clients that she had no problem doing that, great customer care right?
If the paperwork is needed then perhaps you should inform your clients of that when the appointment is booked, not after they show up on your doorstep.
Try to spin it any way you like, I was treated badly and left to scramble to find another vet Read Less

We came to Clayton Park Veterinary Hospital when our dog was nine (he's now 12.5) and it's the best decision we made for his well-being. We brought our cat here for a couple years. He was very healthy and usually just needed a nail trim or checkup to have his anal glands expressed, which we were told should happen every couple months. Every time we visited they provided us an estimate for a dental cleaning that was well over $1200 (+tax) but our cat is getting older and we weren't sure we wanted to go that route. The last time we were here, we were told that he needed root canals on 2 teeth and that our cat was in extreme pain. At this point we decided we needed to get a second opinion since he seemed to have no problem chewing and biting his food/toys and seemed very active and happy. Thank goodness we did because we have found a vet who is truly interested in the welfare and health of animals. We found out he didn't need to have his anal glands expressed at all, and his teeth were in great shape, with the exception of some tarter and plaque. We asked for an estimate for the cleaning and it was $450. We still have the estimate from Clayton Park and can't believe the difference in price for the same service. We were also shocked how much cheaper all the services were, including a checkup. To this day, every time we pass this place, we wonder how many people are getting ripped off and told misinformation. Never again will we ever bring our animal here, and I do not recommend this place to anyone. Save your money and head over to Cobequid Animal Hospital where they will take wonderful care of your pet, and your wallet. Read Less

This place is excellent! Β All the staff are very caring and give the best customer service!I had to take my cat in for an emergency exam on Monday morning. Β The first vet I went to told me basically that I had to "wait in line" for over 2 and 1/2 hours before any vet could examine my cat. Β Wait that long with a cat with an oozing sore on her face - not likely!!So off I went to CP Vet Hospital where I was told they almost always have a couple of emergency appointments available most days for emergencies like mine. Β A technician examined my cat first and told me that a vet was due to arrive in about 30 mins which is a far cry from 2 1/2 hours. Β Upon arrival the vet examined my cat promptly and made a diagnosis and recommendations for treatment and medicine. Β He was very caring and kind to my senior cat of 16 years. Β The staff made sure I understood completely about how to give the medicine my cat needed and to call anytime if I had questions. Β It is a no-brainer for me that this place will always get my vet business!By the way if you have any leftover towels, sheets, pillowcases and blankets your vet or shelter can use these for the animals Β - they appreciate it! Β They always remember my pet's name (and try to pronounce it correctly!). Β Their care for animals is evident in how they handle pets, always taking care to make procedures as low-stress and least-invasive as possible. The prices are reasonable and perhaps even a little better than their competitors. Β Plus, their hours are accessible to people working full-time, which can be difficult.Tip: Β Most times, they'll board your pet for free the night before a surgery. Β Check to see if you qualify. Thanks so much for a great experience for Deke (and I). You have gained a new client when I adopt my next fur-baby because of your great service and care! Happy New Year! Read Less

My son's cat became extremely ill over a short period of time and when I called to ask if any emergency appointments available I was told to come immediately. ( I had never been to this vet before). When we arrived our cat was taken inside at once for examination. I won't go into details but suffice to say after an examination we were presented with options and we decided, with difficulty, that it would be best to say "goodbye" to our Audrey. Β My son and I were overwhelmed by the kindness, sensitivity and generosity of the staff. It made a horrible day much less horrible. Read Less

I was thoroughly impressed with the entire staff of this vet in relation to my experience this week. My cat was diagnosed with diabetes and the care Pixie and I received was outstanding. Dr A called me at home with the blood work results and scheduled an appointment the next day. Dr Mackay saw pixie the following day and it is obvious that she cares about the animals I have been bringing him to this vet for almost 11 years and will never turn to another clinic for care. We bring our rabbit to Dr. Farrow and our dog to Dr. Mackay. Everyone in this clinic is absolutely amazing! Not only do they treat our animals like they are their own, but they always make us feel welcome right when we walk in. We love the Clayton Park Veterinary Hospital! Dr. Farrow is amazing; our furbaby, Lilly, has been seeing him since she was a puppy. He takes the time to thoroughly explain things, and always helps us find an affordable route to care for our pup. He truly cares about the wellbeing of people's pets, and the staff members who work with him are quite awesome as well! Read Less

I adopted 2 little abandoned kittens from this clinic 13 years ago. The staff were careful to ensure both kittens were healthy before we took them home. Also, they spayed the 2 of them for the price of one, when it was time to have that done. The cats had a 2 night sleepover at the vet during that time, and when they came home, they were ready to bounce around the house.Today, I still have 2 happy cats, and although one of them has had a tougher time health-wise than the other, they have received great care from this vet. We came to the Clayton Park Vet on the recommendation of my boyfriend's father, who had taken his cat there. The staff are friendly and attentive, and greet you warmly upon arrival. Β They always remember my pet's name (and try to pronounce it correctly!). Β Their technicians are unflappable, dealing with even the most reluctant kitten as if they'd been doing it their entire life.
