Could not recommend this clinic enough! I have taken both of my cats here for regular check ups, vaccines, neuter and most recently for an emergency.I called at 9 pm at night and was told I could come in right away as my cat was experiencing what was thought to be a blocked urinary tract. The vet and assistants were amazing and walked me through the whole process before coming to ensure I knew fees associated with procedure and also what to expect. They took amazing care of him and updated me along each step - exam, x ray, bloodwork, meds. The vet then spent the time to review the report with us to ensure we understood all of the medical terms and what it was telling us. In total we were there for 3 hours - such amazing care and we left feeling so comforted. I called back today (3 days later) to ask questions about his care and if he was progressing enough. I have a huge story but wont go on about it, but all I can say is stay away!! Might be affordable but vets are money grabbers for things your pets DOES NOT need( eg. tests, xrays, medications) and rough on your animals and the staff, other than the nice vet assistant I had and the evening receptionists are rude. Vet made us wait 40 to 45 minutes in examination room. Left without seeing the vet as no one came by to apologize or say that they were dealing with something so it would be a while. No, just 40 to 45 mins waiting in a small, very warm examination room. We could actually hear the vet was taking a personal phone call at the time as he was laughing while taking his long phone call.Perviously (the 1st visit) when we saw the other vet on staff, he was quite cold and gruff. He didn't know basic knowledge about our breed. The other vet was very difficult to understand when he spoke as English must not be his first language. He has a strong accent but more so it was the poor communication skills and not using full sentences when he spoke. When I called and politely (I hate conflict and try to avoid it) asked to have my dog's file transfered to our new vet's email, the lady speaking on the phone was quick, abrupt, and rude. Read Less

A few weeks ago I brought my 16-year-old cat in for treatment on his leg. Within minutes of entering the hospital, and after explaining three times what his issues were, once to the counter staff, once to the assistant, and once more to the "doctor", Yassar Hammid, the guy was recommending drugs, x-rays, and "pain" injections for his "dislocated leg".One pain injection he said was "less strong" and might not help at all, while the other more expensive injection was certainly stronger, but has a high probability of causing stomach and other organ issues... I feel I should mention that while I was considering the injections, Hammid exits the back room with a syringe already sticking out of the damn bottle! After weighing the choices, I decided not to get either injection. So there was Hammid pushing for an x-ray ($385+) with no guarantee they'd even be able to SEE the reason behind his injury, and because my little boy was "aggressive", he would need to be sedated ($160+)... Excuse me, but if some asshole was pressing down on my sore body parts, I would be pissed off too! And they don't even have payment plans!When I told Hammid to "BE EASY" after he pinned my boy's torso and his sore leg to the steal, towel-covered table, he brushed off my concern and demanded I "let him work"! Needless to say, I didn't stay a minute longer. I didn't even pay for the exam cost, because FUCK THEM!! They don't care about animals, only about how fat their wallets get.*** *** *** *** ***I took my baby, the next day, to our usual vet. A quick once over and his doctor -- a REAL doctor, I should add -- assured me his leg was not dislocated, only sprained. She treated him and within 30 minutes, we were on our way home. A couple weeks ago I went to Lady Hammond Animal Hospital and the woman at the front desk was very rude and unhelpful. I went to pick up flea/tick medication and She kept saying she couldnt find my name or my dogs name in the system. She kept asking me, could it be under a different name ? Asked me What's me phone number? Could it be under a different phone number? Then asks me if I’m sure I’m not getting them mixed up with another hospital, and then she tells me, well your not in the system so I can't give You the medication, the only way u can get it is if the vet sees the dog first ...so I told her I'm not paying to see a vet just to get flea/tick medication and I've never had to do this before and this where I’ve always came. Then she was like I'm sorry I can't do anything. This was very frustrating because I’ve always got it from there and I waited a half an hour there and she did not help me. I went here after not only hearing recommendations of it, but learning it was a short trip away for me. Traveling with my cats is unpleasant for them and me. Once there, the staff at the desk were attentive and communicative. I filled out the information form and a few moments after we were on our way in for his checkup. This was a surprise, as the vet I used to go to had me accustomed to a twenty minute wait. I was notified before I went that one of the doctors could be an 'alarmist', someone who overexaggerates. My cat had a lump on his chin, which I was worried over, but the doctor we had expressed his opinion that there was no need to worry, but did offer a cream that would help. The best part was the price. I expected to pay in the triple digit range after the check up and medicine but the total was very manageable. Read Less

Brought my cat (Annie) in for excessive drooling. In my opinion, the vet failed to do a proper examination of her mouth. Instead suggested expensive blood-work and an X-ray to examine her heart and other internal organs. Was given thyroid medication, some antibiotics and a future appointment for another round of blood-work to check her thyroid and was sent on my way. Symptoms didn't improve after 2-weeks and the exam didn't sit right with me so I decided to go to another vet for a second opinion. This time they did do a proper exam and discovered an easily visible mass under her tongue (very likely cancerous). Annie is now on medications to help make her remaining time with us more comfortable. Had this been discovered earlier my cat could have been spared weeks of unecessary pain and discomfort. It goes without saying that I would not recommend this vet. Granted people can make mistakes and it not speak to their overall qualifications. I hope this is true in this case but I am unwilling to give them a second chance. I hope my story helps you make a better decision than I initially made. I will say that the women that I had the pleasure of speaking with in their front office were very kind and professional. The problem is you need that on top of excellent veterinary care. Dr. Hammid is the friendliest vet around. Both him and Dr. Khan have been extremely caring in the wellbeing of our dog over the past several years. They are also open to suggesting certain natural remedies at home on occasion, which I am extremely impressed by. On several occasions they have helped us in emergency situations with our senior dog and she has always come out fine. They always follow up on the phone after any bigger issues. Very compassionate. Our dog is 16 years old and some of her longevity is certainly due to their care. Now we bring our kitten to them and I’m sure she will also be in good care should any issues arise. The vet technicians were polite and kind, but the vet lacked any beside manner. Instead of going over options of what could be wrong, he immediately started at a drastic scenario of surgery, and tried to make me feel guilty. I should have trusted my instincts and left immediately. Instead I have a bunch of animal drugs that mine doesn't need as he's better now, the foreign object having passed through his system. By far the best animal hospital in the city. We took our boy Richard here for a minor surgical procedure and an ear cleaning, and to say we were impressed with the clinic and the staff would be an understatement. The clinic itself is immaculate, from the moment you open the door you can tell they take pride in the presentation of the space. The waiting area is open and bright and even has a clinic supurrvisor (which is an adorable little tabby named Cedar). Every time we are waiting Dr. Hammid comes out to greet us and check in, which I love. The vet assistants are so friendly and knowledgeable, they make you feel comfortable and reassured that your pets are in the best hands. Unlike most other clinics these guys don't push you to make unnessecary purchases on expensive food, or take unnessecary measures when it comes to your pets care. They are genuinely here for YOU and your PET, not your money. We will be transferring all of our pets files to Lady Hammond Animal Hospital, to go anywhere else would not be logical. Read Less

My dog, Bailey, suddenly became sick. I called the Lady Hammond and was able to bring him in immediately. He was quickly heen by Dr Khan and tests ordered. They put him on a IV. I had to bring him back the next day for an additional IV to help treat his gastroenteritis. When I picked him up at the end of the second day, he was 100% better and feeling good. Nothing but good experiences with this vet. My dad's cat has gone here since she was a kitten. Less than $700 for all of her first year care including an emergency surgery is very reasonable as other vets were wanting to charge $80 exam fees, $300+ pain medicine costs for the spay not including a microchip, and god only knows how much for the emergency surgery. I've have been bringing my family pet here form the time they opened, although my first cat of 16 years passed away I felt that Dr.khan did all that could be done including going beyond the call of duty with phone calls just to see how my cat & I were doing during this process . Since his passing I have decided to get a new furbabie and unfortunately has ran into a bit of trouble of his own however Dr.khan to the rescue lol .. Both doctors are fantastic! One of my dogs suffers from aggression and anxiety. Dr Khan has gone out of his way on many occasions for her. I've gotten calls at home to ensure that I understand her treatments after an appointment. He's great with patient follow-up. Yesterday, I brought my boxer mix in to Dr Hammid. While treating her, he asked about my anxious dog. He called her by her name, and asked questions about her current behaviours. And he reassured me that we are on the right treatment path. We realized our cat had fleas today and, overwhelmed by all the information that Dr. Google was giving me, I phoned the only vet's office open on Sundays for advice. They were able to see us that afternoon and both the vet assistant and Dr. Hammid were extremely kind and helpful. I decided to try this clinic because of the good word of mouth that has been traveling in the rescue community, and cannot say enough about the kindness shown to me and my cat Stuart by Dr Khan and the team here.
