In April of 2021, I had to bring in my 20+ years, who was dying. And I will say they were absolutely wonderful. And that's why I am not giving them just a single star. Now it's December 2021, and my second cat who's 17 years old, and who can barely breathe. I wanted her to pass with the same treatment my other cat got.
So, I called them and was greeted by a unsympathetic and indifferent woman on the phone. Who informed me that not only did the price go up $40.00. That they were also going to charge me 95.00 first for a "quality of life assessment". But when I mentioned that I wasn't charged that for my first cat. She very bluntly told me it was at the discreation of the vet at the time.
It's bad enough that you have to decide to put down something you love, but to be told that it will now cost me double, and in such an uncaring demeanor.
Found another clinic, who will do the same for my 17 year old girl, for the same cost as I paid in April.
Merry Christmas Cobequid.

I have been to a number of veteraniary clinics with my 3 dogs and 2 cats and for one reason or another i always keep looking for better care for my animals. I now only have 2 of my dogs and I have only been with Cobequid Animal hospital for about a year and cannot imagine my life without these dedicated people. I have been through hell in the last year with one of my dogs requiring major surgery to her knee and another having to be put to rest, and every step of the way no matter which vet or tech is over seeing me or my animals they have been there as a shoulder to cry on or offer some helping and friendly advice. They have never made me feel financially pressured and even though I carry insurance have always offered me options in the event my bill were going to be through the roof. Take it from nothing in life is free and this isn’t your fly by night cheap clinic, you pay for the quality of care your furry family member receives and it is exceptional and well worth it. Keep it up guys!!

One of the best veterinary hospitals in the city. The staff are friendly. The veterinarians and vet assistants really love and care about animals. The veterinarians also don't pressure you to spend more than you can afford, they find the most efficient way possible to treat your pet and leave any major decisions to the owner.
The veterinarians go above and beyond to care for your pet as well.
A couple of years ago we found out our furbaby, Angel, had cancer. They gave her some pain meds and we took her back home to make her comfortable. Later that night, we saw she was suffering too much, so I called Cobequid just before they were about to close. One of the vets stayed behind to put our Angel to rest. It was the most devastating night for us, but we didn't want her to suffer all night. We really appreciate the compassion of the veterinarian and staff members that stayed behind. We were able to spend the time we needed before and after our Angel passed away. About a week later the staff had all signed a card for us with our baby's paw prints and a clipping of her hair. I'll never forget the empathy Cobequid Animal Hospital showed during this difficult time. We still miss our baby Angel very much to this day and had the card, her pawprints, her hair clipping and a picture of her framed.
Our other furbabies are happy, healthy, and all still go to the Cobequid Animal Hospital for check ups and anything else they need. Even when we got our newest furbaby spayed, they kept in contact during the day as to how she was doing and they called a few times after she was brought home to check up on her.
I highly recommend Cobequid Animal Hospital to everyone with pets!

Place is huge with big lobby, 1/2 dozen exam rooms out front. Lots of different food and toys/accessories available. Behind the closed doors, I imagine there are the kennels and surgery etc.

I would give zero stars if I could. Been a client for several years and noticed the more they realized just how much we loved our cat, (right after the expensive dental cleaning they talked us into) the prices started to climb even higher. Wait times in their waiting room were getting excessive (sometimes up to 2 hours) but the most disappointing moment for us was when we realized the meds we were giving our cat wasn't the right dose. (although we were told they were.) Dr. Runnalls told us that would be the manufactures mistake if indeed it wasn't the right dose and claimed it was no fault of their office. (even though they dispense it, and we made it clear we did not want to switch to their new, cheaper pen, but were forced to.) $1000 later, we finally have him in a good place with his health, no thanks to the Doctors here. The receptionists are very kind, except for a couple who are extremely rude. Sandra, the manager not only lied to us, but swore at my husband and hung up on him as he was trying to figure this situation out with her. He then proceeded to go down to their office to speak face to face and was told she wouldn't come to the door. We ended up having to pay more money just to have a copy of our cats records and prescription. It is very clear this office only cares about you, until you have questions about things that don't match up. If you love your animal, take them somewhere else.

We adopted our English Bulldog, Duke, about a year ago and took him to Cobequid Animal Hospital based on numerous recommendations. I have been so impressed with all of the staff that have taken care of Duke, especially Dr. Runnalls for her kindness and patience with him.
Things were explained to us fully and we were all made to feel welcome (especially Duke, who left with a belly full of treats)! I love that I am able to call whenever I have a question or concern and they address everything so professionally and in a caring way. I've always been given great advice and have been reassured in my concerns.
Thank you all for making vet visits such a breeze! We appreciate everything you do!

Had never been here before today, I called this morning for an appointment and they got me in right away. I was so pleased with the vet she was great with my kitty and gave me all of the information I needed and then some. I absolutely recommend Cobequid animal hospital. Went here last week with my grandmother, we walked in and there was two women at the desk, neither acknowledged us. We continued over to look at different cat food, trying to find one for my cat, we were looking for ten minutes, discussing cat food types (my cat is allergic to most ingredients in regular cat food) and still, no awknowledgement or help from the assistants at the front desk. When I went over to pay, there was one girl at the desk on the computer and she absolutely refused to even glance up at me. Finally the other girl came from behind the dog food area and said she would take me. Overall, very unimpressed and not the first time I've dealt with this type of attitude here. Not planning on returning.

Love Dr. Moncayo, he helped keep my old dog pain free for the last 4 years of her almost 17 years of life. People were always surprised to learn how old she was cause she was a big dog and she seemed so youthful still. The staff members seem to not be as consistent they used to be but they are still helpful. That might be because I only go once a year now with my new dog not every month or so with my old one.

One of our cats came home with both front legs badly mangled about 3 weeks ago. We called and were taken in immediately. The docs and staff were able to stabilize him and bandage him up so we were able to take him home until we could see Dr. Draper in Bedford. He is a vet surgeon recommended by the Cobequid Hospital. Our little guy is making a slow recovery and he will take quite a while to heal. Thanks to the docs and staff at your hospital, he lived through whatever happened to him( he won't talk about it) Thank You and Merry Christmas

We have had 3 animals that have been seen over the years by our vet Angie Runnals and we could not be happier with the care our fur babies have received. The care has been exceptional right from the very first puppy stages(6 months old now) to the end of life care just given to our old fella in June. All the vets in residence have seen our animals at one point or the other over the years and this is a high quality practice that is dedicated to the health of our pets. We lost our baby Lacey on Friday. I have never worked with such kind and compassionate staff. The kindness they showed to my husband and I as we made the difficult decision to put our cat down was impeccable. To the wonderful staff (male and blonde) who let me cry next to her cage the night before she died and passed me a box of kleenex, thank-you. You were made to do this type of work. Thank-you to Dr. Burgoyne who came out and filled us in on extra details about her health to ease our suffering after she had passed on, this helped me to have some acceptance around the fact that we did the right thing.

Doctor's appointments never seem to be the highlight of anyone's day. That is why it is so important to me that when I take my dogs to see their doctor I want them to feel happy, safe and loved.That is why I choose the Cobequid Animal Hospital. Formally Richardson's Animal Hospital, located in Lower Sackville this is the place to go. The staff there is friendly, knowledgable and compassionate. One of my dogs is a frequent visitor as he likes to find ways to keep me on my toes. You know, eating 16 chicken bones, being stung by a bee, having HEMORRHAGIC GASTROENTERITIS, or Pancreatitis. He is always looking for attention.Doctor Runnals and the staff at the Cobequid Animal Hospital are my go-to saviours no matter the problem they are always the understanding problem solvers I need.

In April of 2021, I had to bring in my 20+ years, who was dying. And I will say they were absolutely wonderful. And that's why I am not giving them just a single star. Now it's December 2021, and my second cat who's 17 years old, and who can barely breathe. I wanted her to pass with the same treatment my other cat got.

Went here last week with my grandmother, we walked in and there was two women at the desk, neither acknowledged us. We continued over to look at different cat food, trying to find one for my cat, we were looking for ten minutes, discussing cat food types (my cat is allergic to most ingredients in regular cat food) and still, no awknowledgement or help from the assistants at the front desk. When I went over to pay, there was one girl at the desk on the computer and she absolutely refused to even glance up at me. Finally the other girl came from behind the dog food area and said she would take me. Overall, very unimpressed and not the first time I've dealt with this type of attitude here. Not planning on returning.

My puppy is very happy to visit here. She will even take a cookie if offered. Loves Doc Collard. Nice to know we have a first class hospital minutes away.

Price seems reasonable for a vet clinic. Great staff. Dr. Yazer is wonderful. The vets get down on the floor with my aging lab, not the trauma of trying to lift her To a table.

Love Dr. Moncayo, he helped keep my old dog pain free for the last 4 years of her almost 17 years of life. People were always surprised to learn how old she was cause she was a big dog and she seemed so youthful still. The staff members seem to not be as consistent they used to be but they are still helpful. That might be because I only go once a year now with my new dog not every month or so with my old one.

The staff is caring and compassionate and the hospital pristine. It's rarely a fun day when you have to go to the vet but they do their best to make it as pleasant as it can be.

One of our cats came home with both front legs badly mangled about 3 weeks ago. We called and were taken in immediately. The docs and staff were able to stabilize him and bandage him up so we were able to take him home until we could see Dr. Draper in Bedford. He is a vet surgeon recommended by the Cobequid Hospital. Our little guy is making a slow recovery and he will take quite a while to heal. Thanks to the docs and staff at your hospital, he lived through whatever happened to him( he won't talk about it) Thank You and Merry Christmas

We have had 3 animals that have been seen over the years by our vet Angie Runnals and we could not be happier with the care our fur babies have received. The care has been exceptional right from the very first puppy stages(6 months old now) to the end of life care just given to our old fella in June. All the vets in residence have seen our animals at one point or the other over the years and this is a high quality practice that is dedicated to the health of our pets. When something is absolutely necessary, they make it known, but if it's not or if there is something you can do at home, they will give you that option too.

We lost our baby Lacey on Friday. I have never worked with such kind and compassionate staff. The kindness they showed to my husband and I as we made the difficult decision to put our cat down was impeccable. To the wonderful staff (male and blonde) who let me cry next to her cage the night before she died and passed me a box of kleenex, thank-you. You were made to do this type of work. Thank-you to Dr. Burgoyne who came out and filled us in on extra details about her health to ease our suffering after she had passed on, this helped me to have some acceptance around the fact that we did the right thing.

Doctor's appointments never seem to be the highlight of anyone's day. That is why it is so important to me that when I take my dogs to see their doctor I want them to feel happy, safe and loved.That is why I choose the Cobequid Animal Hospital. Formally Richardson's Animal Hospital, located in Lower Sackville this is the place to go. The staff there is friendly, knowledgable and compassionate. One of my dogs is a frequent visitor as he likes to find ways to keep me on my toes. You know, eating 16 chicken bones, being stung by a bee, having HEMORRHAGIC GASTROENTERITIS, or Pancreatitis. He is always looking for attention.Doctor Runnals and the staff at the Cobequid Animal Hospital are my go-to saviours no matter the problem they are always the understanding problem solvers I need.
