I trust Dr. Sharon both my dogs. She gives balanced sound advice and isn't just out to make money. Bev is extremely helpful as well and can often give helpful answers to avoid a vet visit.

I've been trusting these folks with pets since my first visit in 1989 with a very sick guinea pig. Their compassion has been forefront from the very beginning. After a sudden and heartbreaking euthanasia at different clinic, and more recently after 2 Emerg visits with my current dog, I was contacted the very next day by the folks at Downsview to follow-up. As long as you treat your pets with the care and respect they deserve, these folks are there for you. (As for the complaints below about their neighbouring businesses...do you have any control over what your neighbours do?) Read Less

1 star for the way you treat your wellness center neighbors. They are providing a service just like you. I will not bring another one of my pets to your business.

Can't say enough good about this place. Took our one year old cat in expecting him not to come home. We dealt with Dr. Brittni Milligan and she's an amazing doctor. We're lucky to have her at the clinic. She went above and beyond what any other vet would of just to make sure Jasper came home with us. After spending 5 days in the hospital he's now home with his brother. These two brothers have a little story.  We adopted them a little over a year ago when they were 8 weeks old.  The two kittens were found abandoned as Jasper was dragging his dying little brother (chance) across the road.  These two cats are very close and when Jasper became ill we knew we had to do everything in our power to keep him alive after everything he done for his brother. We named them Chance (because he got a second chance on life) and Jasper (which is a synonym for Savior) and after this trip to the vet Jasper has found his Savior (Dr. Milligan)! This animal hospital has been looking at these two ever since we rescued them and everytime they're there, they get treated like it's their own animal. Thank you again! Read Less

I have been going to Dr. Sharon Helynck with two successive cats since 1996. I have always been happy with the service, and like Dr. Sharon's quirky personality and sense of humour. I also like the fact that while friendly, she doesn't waste a lot of time and gets down to business. When I had to have my previous cat put down, all of the staff present were wonderful during such a terrible experience. They are also a partner with the Metro Animal Emergency Clinic so the one time I had to take my cat there late at night I got a discount because this was my "home" vet. I've never considered going anywhere else. Read Less

Everything about Downsview clinic was sub-standard..I took my cat there after I discovered he was squinting and could barely open one of his eyes. He had a corneal scratch which caused a corneal ulcer. I was at Downsview for 3 weeks before going to a new vet at Cobequid Animal Hospital. Here's what I got for over $500.00 in those 3 weeks at Downsview:- A vet who seemed completely disinterested in my pet and thought it fine to leave an ulcerated eye for 5 to 7 days at a time before re-checking it. Week one was given meds- ulcer was bigger at week two; week two eye was de-brided - ulcer was worse at week three; week three was given new topical  antibiotic and told to ``bring him back for re-check in 5-7 days ìf he`s doing well`. HUH.......Of course he`s not doing well....he has a corneal ulcer that`s not healing. She exits the exam room as I am asking questions. She had no interest in me or my cat. - Dr. Sharon (owner vet) was rude and sarcastic. She rolled her eyes and told me on the second week``You need to have a  drink`` when I brought my cat in to have the tech`s put the eye meds in. No problem the previous week when I paid them $25.00 a day for them to board him in during the days I was working so that he would get his meds every 4 hours. Guess most cats are compliant and everyone else must have no problem putting eye drops and ointment in their pets eyes at home, alone. It took 2 requests and a week for Downsview to fax over my cat`s medical records to my new vet at Cobequid Animal Hospital.  I looked at the records. I was shocked at how inadequate the record was.  No information on the size or location of the ulcer, changes in the ulcer, process used to de-bride the eye. Only information was on what meds were prescribed. Pretty much useless information for any vet providing follow up care.  At Cobequid, records are very detailed. Any vet can read the record and carry on with a plan of care specific to my pet. After five days at Cobequid, my beloved kitty has seen the vet three times and is on the road to recovery.  I have a very good understanding of his condition and treatment plan. I feel releived..the vet at Cobequid CARES about my pet and is thorough and competent. On top of that, the care at Cobequid has cost me a fifth of what I was charged at Downsview. Decide for yourself: Which clinic would you choose for the pet you love... Read Less

This 'vet' overcharges and does not deliver. When i took my cat to this 'vet' i was told that my cat was over grooming because she was lonely due to me going back to work. This 'vet' rushed my appointment, made me feel like an anxious pet owner and left my cat in pain for two weeks until she died. No medical checks were done, just a quick look and a rub with her finger. However, two weeks later after having the metro emergency vet put my beloved cat down i was told that she had a tumor where she was licking. This emergency metro animal hospital in Burnside were very helpful however, and were very sympathetic for my loss. I will never forgive these people. Oh and they took $230 out of my pocket ontop of everything. Do not put your animal in danger with these people. Read Less
