Had done previous review that although vet Dr. Bail is cheap she definitely does not have a holistic view of treatment but simply recommends operations. To substantiate this, one issue my pooch had was a growth on her eye lid that was continuing to enlarge. Dr. Bail said it had to be cut off and I was shocked as figured some treatment should be tried first before pursuing such an extreme course. She called it some kind of tumor despite my pointing out it had puss like a pimple under the lid. After leaving and using my own intuition on how to address, I started putting some antibiotic creme on it that I was prescribed by my doctor for a fungus that appeared on my face one day. Low and behold, it has almost totally diminished at this point, and the infected red area under the eyelid has disappeared. Do not just go with what a vet recommends if it is extreme. Do your research as I will now be doing for her other issue. Don't let vets cut at your dogs unless it is determined to be absolutely necessary. Just because it's cheap, doesn't mean its right. Prices quoted are "phenomenally" cheaper than other vets who really try and milk you. It's great to find such affordable care (a rarity) for your pet so that you can give them your best. Only criticism though is that she is not a holistic vet but relies on traditional veterinary care with surgery recommends only (like comparing naturopath care vs regular doctors). The woman who answered the phone when I called was the rudest person I have ever come across in my life! I asked to speak to Dr. Baille but the receptionist refused to let me speak to her n refused to give her my info. This company lost out on a very good customer that would've made them thousands of dollars just bc of their rude receptionist who won't even give their boses their msgs. I wanted to work with Dr.Baille bc she came very recommended from multiple ppl but she would make things better for her customers if she would get rid of that receptionist. Read Less

Dr Bail is very genuine, caring and understands, that animals are our family and treats them as her own. They do not cost an arm and a leg to care for you animals, your not treated as though you should not own an animal because you have or are not as financial fortunate as others, that you should or do not deserve to have a pet. Amazing, helpful and truly caring Vet! Dr. Bale is truly an angel. She helped my kitty through his illness and kept him in there for a few days and only charged me about $40!. She called me on her own time and had very informative information on how to care for him properly. She also recommend a wonderful book on cats that is a real eye opener!Read Less

Pretty much the best veterinarian hospital you could ask for. Dr, Bail is practically a saint when it comes to the work she does with animals. She's in it for the animals, not for the money, which is evidenced by her propensity for allowing free visits for minor issues and generally charging customers for far less than other vets. She's been practicing since the 1970s and is still going strong. Rest assured, she knows her stuff.The rest of the staff is pretty good, too! The receptionists are friendly animal lovers and the technician in the back is as wonderful of a person as Dr. Bail and you can see the genuine love for animals in her from how she interacts with the pets who have to stay overnight in the back. There are two other vets besides the amazing Dr. Bail at this animal hospital, Dr. Foster and Dr. Grasse, Dr. Foster seems super friendly and knowledgeable, but I've never had an appointment with her as of yet. Dr. Grasse seems a little aloof towards his patients and their owners, but he at least knows what he is talking about rather well.Wait times can be very, very long and you may be on hold for up to half an hour (!) when you call in, but this is simply because they get so busy here. As a result of word of mouth, everyone knows that this is THE place to take their sick pets and Dr. Bail's becoming a bit of a legend in the area. Because of this, long waits are expected and you can't really fault staff for it. Trust me, the wait times are more than worth it, especially if you're able to set an appointment up with Dr. Bail. Dr. Bale is AMAZING! She is compassionate, caring and really loves animals and what she does. She takes her time and truly cares for her patients and their owners. She saved my cat Henry and gave him excellent care. She also has troubleshooted several issues from my mom, including handling paralysis, allergies and skin issues. IF YOU want an amazing caring vet go here, if you want a FANCY vet that is super quick - save yourself and everyone else in the waiting rooms time and go somewhere else. Those of us who know how special this vet is, know she is worth the wait. Her and her staff try very hard to accommodate everyone. I have been using this vet since 1999.  I will not use any other vet is at all possible.  Dr Bail has always always always given our pets the best care.  I can not even express how good she is with both people and animals.  She is very fair.  She is not the type of vet to try to sell you expensive treatments, food, or services.  You do not walk out of there gasping for air over the bill.  The only complaint I have is that many times I end up waiting an hour for my appointment.  If you have the patience, and the time, she is definitely WORTH IT.  Call ahead and see where they are with respect to their schedule. I am a big fan of the St. Margaret's Bay Animal Hospital. The owner is truly an animal lover. She has a lot of compassion and a true heart for all types of furry pets. Whenever I go there, the shop is always packed! Her prices are reasonable and perhaps even a beat less expensive than other places around metro. I've also had a situation where I had to put an animal down and she was incredibly accommodating and understanding. She allowed me to pay my large vet bills over 2 instalments and cut me a great deal!The only objection I have is that I think it could be cleaner.
