Hi Nathen
We would like to start by sending our sincerest condolences to you and your family for the loss of your sweet Mittsue. We understand that this is a difficult time for you and your family and that you are hurting, but your review is simply false. Here at Chedoke Animal Hospital, such feedback is not taken lightly as this does not align with our values. We aim to provide consistent, high-quality veterinary care to all patients. However, when reviewing your concerns, Mittsue's medical records and billing history your claims are false.
Mittsue was quite ill when she presented to our clinic. She was admitted to hospital, placed on IV fluids, and had diagnostics completed within an hour and a half of presentation. She was closely monitored for the rest of the day, we worked very quickly in preformings these tests and starting treatment to the best of our ability. Based on those diagnostics we were able to provide you with a presumptive diagnosis which came with a poor prognosis. Despite this grim outlook you gave her a chance by having her hospitalized with us during the day for 2 days. We worked within your constraints and kept the bill for hospitalization, professional care, diagnostics, treatments with regular updated under $ 2000. Upon discharge, despite our recommendations to transfer her to an overnight care facility, your family decided to take her home against our medical recommendations. You were warned what could happen to her overnight, but you planned to bring her back the following day for us to continue care. Thankfully, she did improve on her second day and was discharge with the clear understanding that she was to return in 24 to 48 hours for follow up blood work and an exam as we had concerns that this improvement would only be temporary. You did not book a follow up appointment and we tried to reach out to your family 48 hours after she was discharge multiple times for an update and to schedule her in that day for her follow up blood work and examination. Our calls were not answered or returned. Sadly, we did not see Mittsue again until she was rushed in 1 week later and succumbed to her conditions.
Our doctor described all Mittsue’s alminents, prognosis and treatment options until they were fully understood, as well as kept you updated with treatment plan options and her current condition. Multiple follow up tests were required to monitor her health status.
Your claim about legal documents, we are unsure of what you are talking about, the only legal documentation you signed were the treatment plan estimate and the euthanasia consent form. These are standard in the veterinary field and are required by our governing body as to proper informed consent documentation. However, we would be happy to provide clarification as to the legality that these documents if you wish.
We all feel the loss of our patients deeply and most sincerely regret the loss of Mittsue.
We would be happy to talk about your concerns with you further. Please reach out to us at
[email protected] and we can arrange a time to dissuss this further.
