Switched to Bayview Wellington vets because during COVID, could not get our regular vet at all, her partners and staff were, sadly, not interested in our cat being sick.
First experience: Dr. Morris - my cat was fitted in on emergency basis, we were very worried about leaving him for the day, as he is very anxious. Got a call an hour after dropping cat off, Dr. must have spent 30 minutes getting detailed history, understanding the animal. After examining him, she called again and again spent a lot of time discussing possible diagnosis, investigations. Later on, called back to update of examination findings. I asked about doing some extra tests - she discussed the pros and cons with me honestly, genuinely didn't want me to spend unnecessary money on unnecessary investigations. I've never had an experience like this in an emergency situation, previously was manipulated and purposefully scared by emergency vet personnel trying to get me to spend money on unnecessary testing (luckily, I am a physician, so knew they were trying to swindle me!). After encounter with Dr. Morris, I nearly cried, I was so touched by her care. When picked cat up, he was totally relaxed and happy.
Second experience (same cat) - peeing blood. Again, fitted in as emergency, this time with Dr. Wong. Again, detailed, not rushed, personal care, attention to detail, excellent discussion of options, no pressure to spend money at all, appropriate and effective care. Cat's doing great!
What wonderful truly caring vets! I really can't say enough (and I have had about 35 years of frequently unfortunate experiences with various emergency vet treatments, as we always have multiple cats).
