Took our 7 year old male Newfoundland to Rice Lake Animal Hospital for an appointment with Dr. Alison Sutton. His breathing had become laboured of late, but his energy and appetite are normal. She asked all the right questions and put our minds at ease as she laid out the first steps in identifying and managing the issue. Excellent and experienced vet who loves her work, and it shows. We have been patients (2 Newfs) here since 2015, and Dr. Gambling is phenomenal as well. I can't say enough about this clinic. I have owned dogs all my life and never have had a more caring and compassionate group of humans that care for our pets, I just wished we lived in the area all year. Our Golden "Molson" just recently passed away, and our hearts are broken, the hospital called us and sent us a lovely card. Dr. Gambling and her staff go above and beyond. I travel an hour and a half to visit her with my dogs! She has the best handling skills of any veterinarian we have met, and takes the time to explain and work with the individual dog's needs. I have a very difficult cat.... He is very strong and VERY aggressive. The team handled him very well though, and with minimal stress to my cat. It took 3 people but they were able to clip his nails and remove the ingrown nail. They also helped me get him back out to my van. They were amazing. I highly recommend them! Read Less

I would highly recommend Rice Lake Animal Hospital! From beginning to end their main concern is your pet and what your wishes are for your pet. They are there for your pets medical needs. There is no rushing you out. Their time is your time. I went in with my sick dog not knowing what to do. We left with the necessary tests as well as a plan. We did not leave not knowing what do to. We took Mila our miniature pinscher to Rice Lake Animal Hospital after she hurt her leg. We got an appointment quickly and were very pleased with Mila's care. Dr. Gambling did a very thorough examination and Mila was very calm and happy there. I highly recommend Dr. Gambling, her staff and Rice Lake Animal Hospital. We've had problems with our girl Winnie's muzzle swelling lately and ongoing allergic reactions with Winnie itching and breaking out in red spots. We took Winnie to see Dr. Gambling at Rice Lake Animal Hospital. Winnie had a very thorough examination and blood work done to determine food sensitivities. Dr. Gambling called me with the results. Winnie is very sensitive to kelp which was in some of the raw food that she had been eating! Kelp is also in a food supplement that Winnie received lately and she had a very bad reaction. She is also sensitive to oatmeal which Bill shared a little with her every morning (obviously he won't be doing that anymore!) Wheat and venison are other issues but she doesn't get wheat and has not had venison for a very long time. Winnie is a little sensitive to turkey as well.
