We have gone to Big Bay for almost 20 years. It has been a welcoming and friendly business. In recent years I have been more disappointed in their services. My last 3 annual visits have all been running late. One I waited almost 3/4 of an hour for and ended up having to leave and had to rebook and come another day. Last appointment was rescheduled and then they missed doing the nail trim for my dog (was not charged for it, but still inconvenient...they offered to come back but it meant yet another visit to the office and more inefficient use of my time). They are operating under COVID friendly protocols so for appointments you need a cell phone in order to communicate with them while you wait in the parking lot. If you are interested, they have new Care Plans where you can pay monthly fees (in addition to an initial payment fee) that cover various visits depending on the plan you choose. Overall, friendly staff. Just not sure I would continue to use their services in the coming years.

Our last 5 dogs have been cared for, and 3 of them have been helped over the rainbow bridge, by the caring, amazing staff at Big Bay Animal Hospital. Every single member of the team is amazing, and treats our pets as their own. I don’t worry about needless tests or procedures, but also know that if something is recommended, it is the best course of action for our fur babies. They give lots of information to help us make informed decisions. When there is an issue, we get regular phone calls to check on how the patient is doing between appointments. Can’t say enough about them. I recommend them wholeheartedly.

This is a sign of an amazing place, with good people who really do love animals. Maurice the cat who lives there always loves a Pat and a treat. We tried another get closer to us and came back to BBAH because of the staff.

I had a hard time finding a vet service for reptiles, and the staff here are very caring and knowledgeable. They even phoned a couple days later to check how Leahh was doing. Big bay has an amazing staff with big hearts and have always treated my pups with love and kindness! The vets are very knowledgeable and polite, and the receptionist are always great when calling in. When no one else would take my very sick rabbit on short notice, Big Bay squeezed us in. Not only was the doctor thorough and knowledgeable about exotic pets, you could tell that he really cared. It was enough to bring me back with my other bunny to have her spayed by the other doctor there, who was lively, vivacious and passionate. Such a wonderful dynamic here and I highly recommend it!

Big Bay Animal Hospital never fails to deliver top notch service to not only the owners but to our beloved pets! I have been bringing my dog to Big Bay for over 2 years and among those two years I have never been anything but blown away with their attentive genuine care for my pet. Even after my dog had been attacked and injured, I never felt like they were pushing unnecessary services to make a penny. Many times I have called the hospital last minute to see if my dog can be seen in an emergency and they are always willing and happy to squeeze us in at some point during that day. I often receive a follow up call to see how my dog is doing!! Where else will you receive this level of service in Barrie? No where.
My dog like many others gets really nervous and scared when we have to come to the vet. He is a handful and not always the easiest little guy to deal with it when he has visited. However knowing this, from the moment we walk in to the moment we leave everyone from reception, the techs, and vets make you and my dog feel very comfortable and show that they understand with patience.
I live in the very north end of barrie and used to take my dog to a 24 hour hospital in letitia heights. Being disappointed after every visit left me searching for a new vet which reviews like this one lead me to Big Bay and I've never looked back. Don't let the drive to the south end deter you from your pet receiving the absolute best care possible in Barrie.
Thank you Big Bay for everything that you have done for Pretzel, I am truly grateful for everything that your clinic has done for us in the last two years! I speak directly with hundreds of clients a day at my work and whenever pets are brought up I always make sure to recommend Big Bay Animal Hospital!!

I am so grateful for the service provided by Big Bay Animal Hospital. Every member of the team is incredibly caring and compassionate - treating your pets as they would their own. The doctors are incredibly knowledgeable and thorough. I wouldn't trust my animals with anyone else. I am especially impressed by the amount of time the doctors take to explain things so that the owner can be fully aware of what's going on.
