Dr Mudde has cared for Missy since she was 8 weeks old and she is now over 14 years. So thankful that he recently found out that pain from compressed discs in her spine was causing her to stop eating almost completely. The shot he gave her was like a miracle. That night she ate two meals! She is well worth the dollars spent researching to find her problem.Thank you so much for taking such good care of my precious 9 pound fur baby.

We've been being our dogs here for 35+ years. Wonderful care especially from Dr Fisher (retired now I believe) and Dr Mudde. So very happy with our care and will keep coming. We have been here for check ups, surgeries, and to put down our fur babies when that time came. A very fair, ethical, and compassionate Veterinary hospital.

I have dealt with them for the care of my dog but also for check-ups and treatment of foster dogs.
Booking routine follow-up appointments with them is easy and they seem to take great care to keep dogs' medical records updated.
When my dog seemed to have a minor skin condition, I was encouraged to monitor it for a few days instead of being pressured to pay for a treatment that was ultimately not required.

Been with this clinic for a few years now and am grateful to the staff at the facility for the help and care they give my fur-babies. I recommend this place to everyone for reasonable pricing and to care, well and thoroughly, for their pets. At end of life they are exceptionally compassionate and loving and during emergency they really care about the wellbeing of my pets.

Stay away from this place! I took my Dobie here on the 13th of February because he was experiencing shaking, head bobbing, lethargy, loss of appetite, and frequent urination. Upon a check-up, I wasn't given any possible explanation as to probable causes as to why he's going through this - I actually found more info online as to what the cause could be than what I was told. I was subsequently given pills to feed him (one weeks worth), and he was administered a shot. A week had passed, and there was no improvement. I realized that he needed some blood and urine tests to make a more accurate diagnosis as to what the problem was. I had called the clinic just to ask for an estimate for the tests in question, and they required another check-up just to give me a quote. Seriously?!? All I had asked for was an estimate price, and not a direct quote. So, considering the lack of information given upon the initial visit by Dr. Maconitch (sp??), the assistant trying to sell me a needless treat, and the pressuring of another paid visit just to give me a ball-park price for the tests to determine what the ailment with my dog is, this clinic has left a very bad taste with me. I have since taken my dog to another clinic - Allandale Vet, and even before any tests were taken, the information that I was given by Dr. Poon was more than helpful. It turns out that his kidneys are not functioning, as now he's on an IV drip to flush them out. This 'clinic' is only out for your money, and I recommend that if you truly care about your pet's well being, stay far away from this place!

Great staff - very friendly, knowledgeable, and reassuring. They took the time to see my sick dog as a walk in and promptly gave her all the help she needed and brought her through a successful operation the next day. The Dr took the time to explain things to me fully and then meet with my boyfriend and I later to explain things to him. Highly recommend this vet office!

The staff and Doctors are wonderful, caring and supportive. We recently had to say goodbye to our little one, Raven. They made sure they not only took care of and comforted her (as was done since she was a pup), but also provided great comfort to my wife and myself.
Dr Lawrence is tenacious researcher; a pragmatic and caring care giver; and a skilled diagnostician. Dr Mudde couldn't have been any more effective and supportive at a troubling time for us. The whole staff couldn't have been any better.
The DRs work as a team; the whole staff works as a team; and all have earned the 5 stars. (They have been our Vets for all of our dogs since 1988).

Unfortunately, my old ferret who had been struggling due to a prior infection passed away last night at home. As he was an important member of our family, we decided we would get him cremated and spread his ashes in the spring. I called a number of vets in town this morning to inquire about rates for this service, and found them to be the most reasonably priced (we weren't looking for a fancy urn, just a small container to hold the ashes until spring - something other clinics seemed unwilling to do).
None of my own pets have ever been treated here before, though I did remember the compassionate service they provided when some of my family pets had fallen ill or needed to be euthanized when I lived in my parents' home.
Losing a beloved pet is always a hard thing for someone to go through, but the staff were very kind. They took things slowly, comforted me, talked about Reaper with me, and gave me some time alone with him before ultimately saying goodbye. The vet (I didn't ask her name, I was kind of a mess) even arranged for someone to bring a portable debit machine into the private exam room.
It's never an easy thing saying goodbye to a pet, but staff at the Barrie Veterinary Hospital helped more than I can say.
I hope they have a vet who has experience with ferrets, because after today I would absolutely bring my young ones here for their care.

I have been going to this Vet Hospital for over 30 years and always had Dr. Fisher as my vet so when he retired and i decided to get another dog i wasn't sure how i would feel going back there. I have an 11 month old jack Russell and she has been seeing Dr. Mudde since she was 10 weeks old and i couldn't be more happy. He is a very caring man and very thorough. I am very pleased with the care she has received from both him and all of the other staff.

These guys are amazing! I have all four of my pets registered here and they are great when I bring my whole gang in! They give them lots of love so they are not scared and have taken wonderful care of my kittens when they came in for a neuter and spay! One of the techs even had a hard time saying goodbye to my little kitten Kaluha and it was so touching! It made me cry to know that they are always in great loving and caring hands when in for extended stays! Dr. Martin is absolutely amazing and I special request visit him every time we come in! The staff and Doctors are wonderful, caring and supportive. We recently had to say goodbye to our little one, Raven. They made sure they not only took care of and comforted her (as was done since she was a pup), but also provided great comfort to my wife and myself.
Dr Lawrence is tenacious researcher; a pragmatic and caring care giver; and a skilled diagnostician. Dr Mudde couldn't have been any more effective and supportive at a troubling time for us. The whole staff couldn't have been any better.
The DRs work as a team; the whole staff works as a team; and all have earned the 5 stars. (They have been our Vets for all of our dogs since 1988).

Unfortunately, my old ferret who had been struggling due to a prior infection passed away last night at home. As he was an important member of our family, we decided we would get him cremated and spread his ashes in the spring. I called a number of vets in town this morning to inquire about rates for this service, and found them to be the most reasonably priced (we weren't looking for a fancy urn, just a small container to hold the ashes until spring - something other clinics seemed unwilling to do).
None of my own pets have ever been treated here before, though I did remember the compassionate service they provided when some of my family pets had fallen ill or needed to be euthanized when I lived in my parents' home.
Losing a beloved pet is always a hard thing for someone to go through, but the staff were very kind. They took things slowly, comforted me, talked about Reaper with me, and gave me some time alone with him before ultimately saying goodbye. The vet (I didn't ask her name, I was kind of a mess) even arranged for someone to bring a portable debit machine into the private exam room.
It's never an easy thing saying goodbye to a pet, but staff at the Barrie Veterinary Hospital helped more than I can say.
I hope they have a vet who has experience with ferrets, because after today I would absolutely bring my young ones here for their care.

I have been going to this Vet Hospital for over 30 years and always had Dr. Fisher as my vet so when he retired and i decided to get another dog i wasn't sure how i would feel going back there. I have an 11 month old jack Russell and she has been seeing Dr. Mudde since she was 10 weeks old and i couldn't be more happy. He is a very caring man and very thorough. I am very pleased with the care she has received from both him and all of the other staff.

These guys are amazing! I have all four of my pets registered here and they are great when I bring my whole gang in! They give them lots of love so they are not scared and have taken wonderful care of my kittens when they came in for a neuter and spay! One of the techs even had a hard time saying goodbye to my little kitten Kaluha and it was so touching! It made me cry to know that they are always in great loving and caring hands when in for extended stays! Dr. Martin is absolutely amazing and I special request visit him every time we come in! Above and beyond!

Nothing bad to say about the clinic or the staff. My family has been bringing our pets to the Barrie Veterinary Hospital for close to 40 years. I would recommend this animal hospital to anyone.

When it was our beloved Meeko's time I was truly broken hearted and I don't think we could have found a more loyal compassionate, heart felt team than the ones at the Barrie Veterinary Hospital.
