EUTHANASIA DURING COVID 19 and BEING TOLD THAT YOU WOULD NOT BE ALLOWED TO BE PRESENT AND HOLD YOUR PRECIOUS PET IN YOUR ARMS WHEN SHE PASSED. THAT, EVEN THOUGH YOU HAVE BEEN DOUBLE VACCINATED AND WEARING A 😷 MASK!!!
On October 7/21, I had to bring my precious Shadow in to this Veterinarian Clinic to be euthanized. My appointment was for 4:00 pm - their time selection, not mine. Upon arrival I was distraught and already in tears. The door had a notice instructing clients to stand back 6’, which I did after knocking and I had my mask on. A staff member opened the door; I introduced myself (which was not reciprocated by the staff member ) and gave the reason I was there; I was told to wait in my car which I did; she came out with a clipboard and her first question was “is she fixed”?
Excuse me? Shadow was there to be euthanized, why in God’s name was that important? I guess the look on my face prompted her to say “we don’t have anything on file about her”.
After a couple of more questions - I can’t even remember their relevance because I was so upset by then - the staff member went back into the clinic; she returned with a lead to bring Shadow in to give her a shot to make her drowsy; with her was a vet (not introduced to me by name) who asked me if my decision was to put Shadow to sleep - that was it! Away they went inside.
I no sooner got Shadow curled up on my lap, when another staff member (also never introduced herself) with paperwork in her hand AND A DEBIT MACHINE. SHE SAID (VERBATUM) - “WE MAY AS WELL GET THIS OVER WITH NOW” AND PRESENTED ME WITH THE MACHINE. Thank God I had my friend Heather with me and witnessing to how I was being dealt with - she was stunned and speechless. Could they not wait until my precious little Shadow passed away before asking me to process payment for same? When time, the first staff member returned and carried Shadow inside. I was so distraught because never had one of my pets not been in my arms when they passed. Not once did any of the three individuals say anything to me such as “we’re so sorry that we can’t permit you to be with Shadow” or “we know this has to be so difficult for you” - NOT ONE WORD OF EMPATHY!!
Before telling me Shadow had passed, the Vet (Barbara Good, I guess, as that was the name on the invoice) was out the side entrance, into her vehicle and leaves; another is out opening up the rear door of an SUV. It was now clear - THEY WANTED TO GET OUT OF THERE AND GO HOME - LOOKING AFTER MY SHADOW WAS KEEPING THEM!! I did not ask to have my appointment for 4:00 pm - they chose that time. Now, having that debit machine put in my face at a most inappropriate time, said it all. We drove home in total disbelief of what had transpired during the previous half hour.
Please don’t EVER do to another pet owner what you did to me. Read Less

Insisted on giving unnecessary and not recommended inoculation to a 13 week old puppy. The CVMA and OVC core vaccines do not include Leptospirosis. The vet failed to take my dogs temperature, which is normal procedure to ensure animal is not ill before vaccination. Sent me a registered letter saying my standards of practice did not mesh with theirs. This is fine after 30 plus years farming and breeding pure bred dogs, breeding registered dairy goats, and studying animal behaviour I found the knowledge base to be lacking. It is unfortunate that they take advantage of people and push unnecessary vaccinations. Read Less

Horrible customer service. Called with a question about flea treatment for my vaccinated and neutered cats. From the moment the call was answered the tone was angry and confrontational. One woman talked to me on the phone while another screamed at the 1st lady and I in the background of the call. I was told, "In order to get flea treatments for my cats, I needed to bring in my cats and proof of all shots", which seemed normal. Then came the kicker...They then told me that if they decided my cats weren't up to date on their shots, I would have to immediately buy the missing shots off them or they would report me to the SPCA!!". When I tried to find out what shots were needed to be up to date, I was told I would have to bring my cats in for a $65 exam to find out!! This is extortion and my family will not support a business run/staffed by loudmouth bullies. Read Less
