They overdosed a medication (the label said to give it every 12 hours instead of every 24 hours so it was a double dose, confirmed by Cavan Hills Emergency Vet because Bowmanville was closed when I realized the mistake) and my rat almost died. Less than 2 weeks earlier, they underdosed another medication (prescribed 10mg/ml instead of 100 mg/ml). A few months prior, they mixed up the expiration dates on another medication by reversing the months and years. They also returned a different pet's ashes to me divided into 3 separate urns (an error that made a the loss of my pet that much worse). Rather than apologizing and taking responsibility for their many and sometimes life-threatening errors, they banned me when I confronted them about it, with false accusations to try and shift the blame (they said I was rude; I was upset, of course, but remained calm and polite and didn't raise my voice (and I'm in the process of getting transcripts from my phone provider for legal proof); Sandra McBride the operations manager, on the other hand, was awful to deal with (she showed no compassion whatsoever and was EXTREMELY rude, talking over me and not showing even the tiniest bit of concern that my pets were overdosed). They're so unprofessional that I don't understand how they're still allowed to operate. Their vets can't make a diagnosis (I literally consulted with ALL of them, one by one, but NEITHER had any clue (spoiler: it was an upper respiratory infection that just needed proper dosages of antibiotics): Brigette Rudolf, Helen Koseck, Stephanie Spencer, and Josh Tollman) but they will take (too much of) your money anyway, only to say that they have no idea. Their technicians can't do basic math and threaten the lives of the animals in their care with frequent dosage errors. They are a danger to animals. They almost killed my pet rats twice in only two short weeks. They have no business offering care to exotic animals (which they advertise on their website) and I strongly recommend going elsewhere. Literally, anywhere. Worst vet experience I've had and I shudder to think of these people being trusted with the actual lives of animals. Read Less
