This is our 4th cat with Dr Z and the crew at derrydale. Our first lived to be a happy health 19 and was with Dr Z his entire life. They are kind, caring and direct. They were able to make saying good bye to our furry friends easier, and with great compassion. They are now helping us with a rescue and she is 100 % improved from when we first brought her in a year ago. I have referred several friends and neighbours all of whom have had good solid service and support . The clinic also provides support services for seniors who may not always be in a position to afford care for a loved companion. Over the years we have grown to trust them and in the Rare case something has been out of the ordinary they have always done more than expected to correct the situation. Professional, caring and compassionate. Thx from Snappy, Oskar, Tsuji, and now Catrina.

I took my dog to Derrydale and they did absolutely nothing to help him. We paid extra to have someone "on call" for questions for his diabetes and got a brand new vet, barely out of school. The one that we originally should have had went on mat leave. We paid so much money to try and help him that last time we brought him in after he spent the day getting tests and at the end all they wanted to do was give him back because it was the weekend. When they brought him out to me they put him on the floor like he was a bag of trash. I picked him up and he died in my arms in the waiting room. I would never EVER recommend this place to anyone. I have never seen such a bunch of uncaring individuals in my life. I am so angry about the way my best friend was treated, I will never get over that. Derrydale staff you should be ashamed.

I would not recommend this clinic to anyone. Unprofessional vet, refused to give me a refund for medication that I prepaid for, along with causing a scene in main office that made everyone uncomfortable.
Misdiagnosed my dog, he thought it was an infection whereas another clinic said it was a food allergy. I changed the food and my puppy if fine.
I'm sure I'm not the first that this has happened too and I'm sure I won't be the last...

A few years back I took my two little budgies here. Only thing was my vet I'm going to now is down the street vs 15km away. Dr. Z and his staff were amazing couldn't ask for anything more. I should have done more research. My bunnies were booked for a spay on a Friday morning. I got a call to pick them up around 4. After consulting other vets that specialize in bunnies I was told they should have been kept overnight. This office is closed over the weekend so I had to travel to Guelph when there was complications. My bunny died as a result of the procedure. Please don't bring your pet to this clinic. I would never bring another pet to this clinic, and neither will anyone I've spoken to.

I took my dog here about a month ago as she was not feeling well at all. The vet spent no more than 5 minutes with her told me that she was okay and nothing to worry about then I left. Things got worse and so I visited a different vet 2 weeks later. This vet said she had a huge tumor and that if it had been detected only 2 WEEKS EARLIER that she could have been in a much better position. My dog died just a week after. All because this doctor was TOO LAZY TO DO THEIR JOB! Money was way more important to them than my dogs life. Please if you care about your animals life do not take them here!

My dog Fionnula loves to visit sherri at the front desk and loves to see Dr.Z and Dr.Kupper! the entire staff are so friendly and I know my girl is in great hands always! It's a place filled with Animal love and you can feel it when you are in there.

I'm truly shocked that this place hasn't received a review but more so that I haven't reviewed it before! When it comes to vet's you need to find the right fit for you and your pet but when it comes to small animals, like rabbits it can be a bit challenging even finding places that see them little own live up to our expectations.Derrydale is located a fair distance from my house but its the only place I trust to take my four rabbits to and they have not let me down since I started taking them about 3 yrs ago. The clinic is quaint and clean conveniently located right off Main st with an extremely large parking lot and no stairs for easy access. The examination rooms are also clean, neat and adorned with stories of recovery and appreciation from animal lovers and their pets. The staff is pleasant, knowledgeable and friendly who handle all the animals I have seen with care and consideration. I believe they see animals of all kinds from cats, dogs, bunnies, birds, guinea pigs and more I'm sure.Out of my four rabbits, my biggest bunny has always been my most timid and the way they handled him with such gentle care was truly what kept me coming back. They have since proved themselves with each one of them and always provided truthful and thorough diagnosis. My latest trips could have been much more expensive but instead of charging us for the usual visitation fees, they simply charged for the medication administered, that in my experience is a rarity when it comes to vets who are very often unnecessarily expensive. This clinic is well worth the drive for me and my babes are happy and healthy under the care of Derrydale

This vet said she had a huge tumor and that if it had been detected only 2 WEEKS EARLIER that she could have been in a much better position. My dog died just a week after. All because this doctor was TOO LAZY TO DO THEIR JOB! Money was way more important to them than my dogs life. Please if you care about your animals life do not take them here!

I went to this place to get a checkup for my bird. He said nothing was wrong and did no tests or anything. Then, just two days later the bird died from an infection. I don't get why I paid so much when he did no tests and said my bird was fine. I highly don't recommend this place if you have a bird. I always regret to this day that my bird could have been alive.

I have taken all of my pets here for over 10 years. I recommend this vet to everybody that I talk to at the dog parks. My dog Fionnula loves to visit sherri at the front desk and loves to see Dr.Z and Dr.Kupper! the entire staff are so friendly and I know my girl is in great hands always! It's a place filled with Animal love and you can feel it when you are in there.

Took my pet here. Was told it may be $1000 to save him and it would be better to just put him down. Seemed like a very suspicious place. My pet got worse after the doctor privately performed a procedure on him in the back. Went to a different vet where they fixed him up for only about $110.

As soon as you walk through the door, you are greeted by a smiling and friendly Sheri at reception. This pleasant experience continues throughout the entire visit, with all staff being very knowledgeable, courteous, understanding and caring, concluding with options available for my pet and an HONEST professional opinion.
All of this along with very reasonable rates, I will definitely be back!

My chinchilla was very ill and possibly broke something. And of course this happened on the day, saturday, where you closed. Of all days? Saturday, one of the busiest days of the week... Hospitals should stay opened every week.

I'm truly shocked that this place hasn't received a review but more so that I haven't reviewed it before! When it comes to vet's you need to find the right fit for you and your pet but when it comes to small animals, like rabbits it can be a bit challenging even finding places that see them little own live up to our expectations.Derrydale is located a fair distance from my house but its the only place I trust to take my four rabbits to and they have not let me down since I started taking them about 3 yrs ago. The clinic is quaint and clean conveniently located right off Main st with an extremely large parking lot and no stairs for easy access. The examination rooms are also clean, neat and adorned with stories of recovery and appreciation from animal lovers and their pets. The staff is pleasant, knowledgeable and friendly who handle all the animals I have seen with care and consideration. I believe they see animals of all kinds from cats, dogs, bunnies, birds, guinea pigs and more I'm sure.Out of my four rabbits, my biggest bunny has always been my most timid and the way they handled him with such gentle care was truly what kept me coming back. They have since proved themselves with each one of them and always provided truthful and thorough diagnosis. My latest trips could have been much more expensive but instead of charging us for the usual visitation fees, they simply charged for the medication administered, that in my experience is a rarity when it comes to vets who are very often unnecessarily expensive. This clinic is well worth the drive for me and my babes are happy and healthy under the care of Derrydale
