We were given the unfortunate news our dog had cancer and we had to put him down. They made sure to not book anyone else before or after us so we could deal with this terrible experience privately. They allowed us to bring our dogs dog bed with us so our Rusty could have a comfort of home and they discarded it for us after. All staff were exceptionally kind and sensitive. The topper was the sympathy card they sent afterwards. For a devastating experience they were all amazing and we will never forget that. Read Less

Dr. McLean is reliably straightforward, honest in every way, and goes above and beyond as his daily mantra. I think of him as "Dr. Angel McLean". He does not 'overdo' as a way to increase revenue, but is always considerate of both the pet AND the HUMAN on the other end of the leash! An excellent surgeon and veterinarian, a kinder, gentler man than he does not exist! Read Less

I received a referral to MacKay's in Burlington when I had to switch from my previous vet due to poor diagnosis of a condition that kept coming back for my dog and a misdiagnosis of another issue. MacKay's ran proper tests and determined a course of treatment to address the issue as the diagnosis was not what I had received from the previous vet. They have been great to deal with and Dr. Tome has taken time to explain the diagnosis in detail both in person and over the phone on follow-up calls. Great staff, great clinic. Read Less

This is the first Vet that I have taken Mouse to in Ontario and I must say it was a super positive experience. Firstly the prices are reasonable. For an annual checkup it's not "a la carte" like some vets; $120 includes a very thorough checkup and all necessary/desired vaccines. Dr. Maclean was great with her he even found some potential issues that I didn't know about. He did an eye exam and  said she had a few cuts, but nothing to worry about and told me that her knees are permanently dislocated, when I thought she had hip displasia. But he didn't push anything on me, in fact, it was the opposite. He said that if she wasn't in any pain the surgery is a bad idea. He even did a fungal check on her feet for no extra charge (Mouse loves to lick her feet.) He was great at answering all my questions about the difference in potential dog issues in Ontario vs BC. He also even personally called me when my Vancouver vet finally sent in her complete paper work (I had to call the Vancouver vet 4 times for this.) If you're looking for a trustworthy vet I would definitely suggest them. Read Less
