My experience with Chartwell has been nothing less than HORRIFIC. My dog had itchy paws. Dr Fung prescribed him a very serious drug and presented it as an anti-inflammatory (a full bottle at 50 mg). After 2 months on this drug, in a span of 1 week, he was in and out of the hospital. They reported he had a torn ligament in his left hind leg, a very high white blood cell count indicating an unknown infection causing a fever. They confirmed it wasn’t lime disease.
In that week, he spiralled quickly and eventually stopped eating completely, couldn’t walk anymore even after the painkillers. I had to keep him in a wagon if I had to move him. He became sorely depressed. I then wondered why he was ever prescribed this drug in the first place for something as minor as itchy paws. Both Dr Fung and Dr Newberry were well aware of his critical condition and never bothered to pick up the phone to follow up after the 2 urgent appointments that week which led to inconclusive results in terms of figuring out the root cause.
All the while, I’d be calling them in desperate need of their help each time his state worsened and received many ‘I don’t knows’ from Dr Fung and Dr Newberry is hardly ever around.
3 days after Dr Fung had examined him and reassured me he could be nursed back to health, I had to rush him to the ER again after the vomiting became consistent each time I tried to feed him some food. The hospital asked how long he’d been on this drug for as it weakens the liver and he was dying of liver failure, was suffering and way beyond what medical treatment can provide. It also weakens the immune system and muscle tissue.
After my boy died, Dr Newberry reappeared and called me, mentioning I was wrong about the drug being at 50 mg and that it was only at 5 mg for the first bottle Dr Fung prescribed. I have the prescriptions and the paperwork that confirms 50 mg for both bottles. Was my dog overdosed? Is this misconduct? Either way, the left hand doesn’t know what the right hand is doing and sadly the right hand happens to be his most inexperienced underling, Dr Fung.
Dr Newberry seems to reappear to clean up her mess while she cowers and goes into hiding.
I am now left with the trauma of knowing how badly my boy suffered and only the memory of him

I'm so glad I found this place! The vets are very nice and they don't try to up-sell like other clinics do. The other staff members in the clinic are just as nice as the vets and actually take the time to talk to you on the phone and help with the different options they have if you are worried about your four legged family member! Linda has been so kind and always provides the best service, she really shows that she cares about the animals!

I previously had an amazing review here but all was changed when I went to bring my dog yesterday to Dr. Athena Fung since my dog was vomiting and having diarrhea.
Dr. Fung did her bloodwork and said everything looked normal, however, when I came home the bloodwork showed one of the results on the LOW side. We took our dog to the ER the same night and it turned out the LOW on the bloodwork was due to having CRUCIALLY low blood platelets that she was bleeding internally.
I am so shocked why Dr. Fung had misinformed me and said everything was normal in her bloodwork, instead, she prescribed all these medications that weren't even necessary. We went back to speak to her at the clinic a week later and she hid in the back room, making Dr. Newbury speak to us on her behalf which made the situation worse as he had no clue what he was talking about and was defending her unprofessionalism and malpractice.
Being a loyal customer for 4 years, I will now never return to this clinic no matter how much I love their front desk staff (Linda).

I love everyone at Chartwell Vet. From front desk to the vets are amazingly welcoming and sweet. The Vets are all so gentle handed and friendly. I love to compliment Linda, she remembers my dog's name, and our furiends referrals! It is so nice to have someone so welcoming at the front desk. Very reasonable price, clean, and FRIENDLY. Before I made a decision to switch to Chartwell, Linda probably spent a good 30 mins on the phone with me answering all my questions, not once I felt pressured. I definitely recommend coming here.

I would highly recommend brining your vet here. My dog Peaches has had 2 surgeries here and both went super smoothly. Receptionists are extremely friendly as well. Your pet will be in very good hands ...

I was so lucky to find this clinic via a holistic website over 2 years ago. Dr.Benson's name came up and I decided to I give the clinic a call. Everyone here is very nice and helpful. My cat met almost every vet there is in the clinic after he got into a cat altercation and fight, which he may have lost, and he came home with a bruised eye and scratched cornea. I rushed my little guy to the vet as soon as I could and they were very accommodating to squeeze me in on top of their regular schedule.If you are looking for a holistic or natural path for your pet, Dr. Benson is the way to go.What would I do without you? Thank you for keeping my cat healthy!

I love the way the vets in this clinic prioritize my dog's needs and explain everything so patiently to me. There are 3 vets in the clinic, and I'm most familiar with Dr. Newbery and Dr. Benson as they have been there a long time. They always take time to make my dog feel comfortable and don't just get to work. The rest of the staff is like this too. When follow up is needed, they dedicate quite a bit of time on the phone explaining options. I have been at other clinics and never felt this well served.

My experience with Chartwell has been nothing less than HORRIFIC. My dog had itchy paws. Dr Fung prescribed him a very serious drug and presented it as an anti-inflammatory (a full bottle at 50 mg). After 2 months on this drug, in a span of 1 week, he was in and out of the hospital. I would highly recommend brining your vet here. My dog Peaches has had 2 surgeries here and both went super smoothly. Receptionists are extremely friendly as well. Your pet will be in very good hands ...

Best vet service anywhere. Have been with them for over 20 years. Four cats later, I still go. Awesome service and very compassionate people.

I was so lucky to find this clinic via a holistic website over 2 years ago. Dr.Benson's name came up and I decided to I give the clinic a call. Everyone here is very nice and helpful. My cat met almost every vet there is in the clinic after he got into a cat altercation and fight, which he may have lost, and he came home with a bruised eye and scratched cornea. I rushed my little guy to the vet as soon as I could and they were very accommodating to squeeze me in on top of their regular schedule.If you are looking for a holistic or natural path for your pet, Dr. Benson is the way to go.What would I do without you? Thank you for keeping my cat healthy!

I love the way the vets in this clinic prioritize my dog's needs and explain everything so patiently to me. There are 3 vets in the clinic, and I'm most familiar with Dr. Newbery and Dr. Benson as they have been there a long time. They always take time to make my dog feel comfortable and don't just get to work. The rest of the staff is like this too. When follow up is needed, they dedicate quite a bit of time on the phone explaining options. I have been at other clinics and never felt this well served.
