Our boy has lost his eye sight and unfortunately an eye removal is not in the cards due to bad blood, but Dr. Klys is still here for us to keep him comfortable and pain-free. We will never forget that.

Dr. Klys is an incredible human being. My pets and I have not seen Dr. Klys as an ophthalmologist but I did see him with one of my kittens as an ER doctor at VEC Sheppard many years ago. I had a horrible accident with my poor kitten. I was quite upset and very short on funds and Dr. Klys showed me and my poor kitten an incredible kindness that I will remember forever. Yes he is an amazing vet, but he is also a remarkable, truly compassionate and caring person.

Our Italian greyhound had an unknown eye issue. Dr Klys has been amazing. Takes his time, through and such a nice guy. Quickly had my dog at ease and was incredibly gentle. I can't say enough positive things. The clinic is extremely professional and super organized. Considering it's a specialist clinic and service, its not in expensive BUT the quality of care makes up for it. Overall if you need a doggie eye specialist, you can can't go wrong.

Our vet referred Charlie here to address his specific eye issues. Charlie had his eye graft surgery in 2014 with Dr. Klys, whom practically saved his eye as a result. We are incredibly thankful for his experience. We continue to come for checkups and to address any other eye related issues. Dr. Klys is very experienced and knowledgable. He has incredible patience and shows lots of love for any animal he sees. We feel very safe coming to this facility for Charlie's eye issues and know we are in good hands to manage whatever comes up. The one star is not based on the efficiency of the vets but on their ethics. I used the services of this clinic and bought medication and a week later came back and found out they sell the same medication but in a different format for almost half the price. I was not told this when I bought it. I also checked into the price of medications through the pharmacy and this vet charges about double for medications. If you unfortunately need their services try to check elsewhere. As well they sell cheaply made collars and you can find better quality ones at stores like Pet Value for less.

He was realistic and honest with his findings but still positive as well, which put me at ease. Dr. Klys was very calm and it put my dog at ease when shining the bright light in her eyes. I called this morning to make an appointment for my dog because he had some eye discharge. They said they could take me at 2:20. I go there and the receptionist can't find my name in the system. She goes into another room, comes back and says "fill out this form and we'll try to get you in as soon as we can." Uhhhh what?!?!I said "but I have a 2:20 appointment, I called this morning." She curtly said that there was a mix-up and my appointment didn't get put into the system. She said they might be able to squeeze me in. After thinking about the hours wasted that I could have possibly used to see another vet, I walk outside and go to the clinic next door. I tell them what happened and ask if they could take us last minute. They say yes and we see the vet. I then get a bill for over $400!!! The vet visit itself was $225 and the rest was for some tests, eye drops, and a collar I didn't want. A vet visit at Forest Hill Clinic is only $75. So I paid a couple hundred more than I should have for an infuriating experience. No apology from Forest Hill Clinic. No heads up from the clinic I ended up going to about the fact they they're an emergency and specialist facility so it would cost more. I'm visiting from New York, and worked very hard at keeping my New Yorker mouth from going off, but maybe I should have let them have it anyway! Mistakes happen, but they could have at least apologized and gotten me in asap.

I would recommend booking an appointment if possible because it can get really busy with walk-ins some days and the wait could be over an hour.

Dr Goldstein made me feel at ease getting my 9yr old boxer the ulcer surgery for her eye. He walked me through all the steps of recovery, made sure I understood and have me his number for any questions. I've never had my dog at a better vet!! I didn't have the pleasure of meeting Dr Klys who performed the surgery, but I've heard nothing but great things about him as well. The girls at the front desk were so nice to everyone who walked in. I would recommend this place 10/10 times!!

I brought my 9-month old doberman to Dr. Goldstein @ Forest Hill Animal Clinic and the visit was beyond my expectations. The front staff were kind and friendly and made conversation with me while I waited. They also treated my dog so kindly. Dr. Goldstein has to be one of the best vets I have worked with. Not only did he take the time to fully examine my pups eyes, he then sat down with me and discussed, in a way I could actually understand, what was going on and what the solution was (which included drawing a diagram and writing out notes for me to take home). Dr. Goldstein also provided me with an after hours number which I could contact him at in case of emergencies. The technician that was with us was also incredibly kind and professional. All in all, an amazing experience. And they also do not charge as much as some of the other clinics I've been to.

We had such a great experience here!! The staff is so friendly and pleasant. Dr. Klys is an amazing opthalmologist!!! He really took the time to go over my dog's eye problems with me, including giving me a number of treatment options. What I really appreciated was not being coerced into going in one direction over another. He really made me feel as though whatever treatment option I chose to go with was a good one and he supported my choice. Additionally, Dr. Klys really seems like he loves what he does and the animals he cares for!!

I've had pets since I was 2.5yrs old. Most of them dogs so I've dealt with a lot of vet clinics. Some Vets try to over sell procedures and products, others were great and really cared for the pets. We took a 5yr break from our last dog to deal with my health issues and to mourn the loss of 15.5 yr old dog. When we decided to make the jump into fur parenting again I did a lot of research on clinics in the neighbourhood. Our old clinic was too far away and we wanted some place where we could walk to easily. FHAC was our choice for many reasons but the biggest one was how Penny our new pug cross felt as she met with Dr. Ross and the staff. She felt secure and happy to the point she pulls to go into the clinic when out for a walk. She had to have some pretty detailed dental operation along with her distchia very soon after we got her. This meant every week for 8 weeks we went there for follow up treatments to her eyes from Dr. Klys. With all the poking Penny gives the clinic 2 paws up which is why we know we made a great choice in this Clinic. Thanks to the whole staff for being so wonderful.

My husband and I were referred to Dr. Goldstein @ Forest Hill Animal Clinic by our vet, as our dog was having some serious eye issues. Dr. Goldstein is a fantastic opthamologist who blew me away with his knowledge and bedside manner for both our dog and us. Our dog can be difficult when put in situations where he feels threatened, but Dr. Goldstein knew exactly what to do and was able to perform an extremely thorough eye examination (including ultrasound) without having to sedate our dog, which is quite the feat. I would absolutely recommend Dr. Goldstein, as he has a way of putting you & your animal at ease.

We are so grateful for Dr. Klys! He has been most incredible, helpful and caring for the wellbeing of our Labrador. We had so many questions and he was always there to answer them patiently. Our boy has lost his eye sight and unfortunately an eye removal is not in the cards due to bad blood, but Dr. Klys is still here for us to keep him comfortable and pain-free. We will never forget that.

Dr. Klys is an incredible human being. My pets and I have not seen Dr. Klys as an ophthalmologist but I did see him with one of my kittens as an ER doctor at VEC Sheppard many years ago. I had a horrible accident with my poor kitten. I was quite upset and very short on funds and Dr. Klys showed me and my poor kitten an incredible kindness that I will remember forever. Yes he is an amazing vet, but he is also a remarkable, truly compassionate and caring person.

I would DEFINITELY RECOMMEND Doctor Richard Klys if your pet has some eye issue(s) that need to be looked at. Dr. Klys is knowledgeable, kind, patient and caring. He listens carefully to your concern, answer your email and phone calls on his off time and explains to you where are all the charges coming from. There is not a doubt in my mind that he is THE best vet I have met.

Our Italian greyhound had an unknown eye issue. Dr Klys has been amazing. Takes his time, through and such a nice guy. Quickly had my dog at ease and was incredibly gentle. I can't say enough positive things. The clinic is extremely professional and super organized. Considering it's a specialist clinic and service, its not in expensive BUT the quality of care makes up for it. Overall if you need a doggie eye specialist, you can can't go wrong.

Our vet referred Charlie here to address his specific eye issues. Charlie had his eye graft surgery in 2014 with Dr. Klys, whom practically saved his eye as a result. We are incredibly thankful for his experience. We continue to come for checkups and to address any other eye related issues. Dr. Klys is very experienced and knowledgable. He has incredible patience and shows lots of love for any animal he sees. We feel very safe coming to this facility for Charlie's eye issues and know we are in good hands to manage whatever comes up. I recommend this facility to anyone.

The one star is not based on the efficiency of the vets but on their ethics. I used the services of this clinic and bought medication and a week later came back and found out they sell the same medication but in a different format for almost half the price. I was not told this when I bought it. I also checked into the price of medications through the pharmacy and this vet charges about double for medications. If you unfortunately need their services try to check elsewhere. As well they sell cheaply made collars and you can find better quality ones at stores like Pet Value for less.

I was seen yesterday by Dr. Richard Klys regarding my dogs eyes. Dr. Klys was very friendly and very informative. He was realistic and honest with his findings but still positive as well, which put me at ease. Dr. Klys was very calm and it put my dog at ease when shining the bright light in her eyes. I am very happy with this clinic and i would consider switching over here as my full time clinic if they were taking new patients. Good job staff!! Great first impression. =)

I called this morning to make an appointment for my dog because he had some eye discharge. They said they could take me at 2:20. I go there and the receptionist can't find my name in the system. She goes into another room, comes back and says "fill out this form and we'll try to get you in as soon as we can." Uhhhh what?!?!I said "but I have a 2:20 appointment, I called this morning." She curtly said that there was a mix-up and my appointment didn't get put into the system. She said they might be able to squeeze me in. After thinking about the hours wasted that I could have possibly used to see another vet, I walk outside and go to the clinic next door. I tell them what happened and ask if they could take us last minute. They say yes and we see the vet. I then get a bill for over $400!!! The vet visit itself was $225 and the rest was for some tests, eye drops, and a collar I didn't want. A vet visit at Forest Hill Clinic is only $75. So I paid a couple hundred more than I should have for an infuriating experience. No apology from Forest Hill Clinic. No heads up from the clinic I ended up going to about the fact they they're an emergency and specialist facility so it would cost more. I'm visiting from New York, and worked very hard at keeping my New Yorker mouth from going off, but maybe I should have let them have it anyway! Mistakes happen, but they could have at least apologized and gotten me in asap.

Really helpful front desk staff both when I called and when I went in. I've had my cat Lola in a few times with Dr. Wong for various problems and each time she was very helpful explaining what was going on and/or needed to be done as well as treatment options and cost. I would recommend booking an appointment if possible because it can get really busy with walk-ins some days and the wait could be over an hour.

I was referred here by my vet, and every single staff member has been VERY kind and helpful in seeing that my puppy received the utmost care. I could not be happier with the results of my puppy's surgery, we could not be more thankful!!! Dr. Goldstein & Dr. Klys were amazing pre and post surgery, they are both very kind and very informative and I would recommend anyone to them, it was completely worth every penny.

Dr Goldstein made me feel at ease getting my 9yr old boxer the ulcer surgery for her eye. He walked me through all the steps of recovery, made sure I understood and have me his number for any questions. I've never had my dog at a better vet!! I didn't have the pleasure of meeting Dr Klys who performed the surgery, but I've heard nothing but great things about him as well. The girls at the front desk were so nice to everyone who walked in. I would recommend this place 10/10 times!!

I brought my 9-month old doberman to Dr. Goldstein @ Forest Hill Animal Clinic and the visit was beyond my expectations. The front staff were kind and friendly and made conversation with me while I waited. They also treated my dog so kindly. Dr. Goldstein has to be one of the best vets I have worked with. Not only did he take the time to fully examine my pups eyes, he then sat down with me and discussed, in a way I could actually understand, what was going on and what the solution was (which included drawing a diagram and writing out notes for me to take home). Dr. Goldstein also provided me with an after hours number which I could contact him at in case of emergencies. The technician that was with us was also incredibly kind and professional. All in all, an amazing experience. And they also do not charge as much as some of the other clinics I've been to.

We had such a great experience here!! The staff is so friendly and pleasant. Dr. Klys is an amazing opthalmologist!!! He really took the time to go over my dog's eye problems with me, including giving me a number of treatment options. What I really appreciated was not being coerced into going in one direction over another. He really made me feel as though whatever treatment option I chose to go with was a good one and he supported my choice. Additionally, Dr. Klys really seems like he loves what he does and the animals he cares for!!

I've had pets since I was 2.5yrs old. Most of them dogs so I've dealt with a lot of vet clinics. Some Vets try to over sell procedures and products, others were great and really cared for the pets. We took a 5yr break from our last dog to deal with my health issues and to mourn the loss of 15.5 yr old dog. When we decided to make the jump into fur parenting again I did a lot of research on clinics in the neighbourhood. Our old clinic was too far away and we wanted some place where we could walk to easily. FHAC was our choice for many reasons but the biggest one was how Penny our new pug cross felt as she met with Dr. Ross and the staff. She felt secure and happy to the point she pulls to go into the clinic when out for a walk. She had to have some pretty detailed dental operation along with her distchia very soon after we got her. This meant every week for 8 weeks we went there for follow up treatments to her eyes from Dr. Klys. With all the poking Penny gives the clinic 2 paws up which is why we know we made a great choice in this Clinic. Thanks to the whole staff for being so wonderful.

My husband and I were referred to Dr. Goldstein @ Forest Hill Animal Clinic by our vet, as our dog was having some serious eye issues. Dr. Goldstein is a fantastic opthamologist who blew me away with his knowledge and bedside manner for both our dog and us. Our dog can be difficult when put in situations where he feels threatened, but Dr. Goldstein knew exactly what to do and was able to perform an extremely thorough eye examination (including ultrasound) without having to sedate our dog, which is quite the feat. I would absolutely recommend Dr. Goldstein, as he has a way of putting you & your animal at ease.
