While I was away on vacation, my baby donkey very badly injured his foot/hoof/leg when he caught it in fencing. My friends who were caring for my donkeys found him injured and called the office immediately.
One of my friends actually poured a saline soultion on the wound while her sister held the donkeys leg until Dr arrived. Their mother set about having another friend get proper lighting set up, the stall cleaned, towels and water brought out and the fence mended. All the while, keeping my daughter calm. πππTHANK YOU to my friends for being here when my lil guy needed someone the mostπππ If you hadn't acted so quickly, none of what unfolded could have happened.
Thursday night Dr. Amy Bennett was in my barn within 15 minutes of Main St being called and literally saved my little guys life. One of my friends held baby donkeys head, the other bravely held the leg while the Dr performed her surgery.πππ THANK YOU AMYπππ OMG....NO WORDS CAN DESCRIBE HOW THANKFUL I AM TO YOUπππ
Thank you for caring about one little donkey enough to come out, in the middle of the night and save his life while carrying your own little life within you. You are INCREDIBLE and to me, you are, "Wonder Woman" to have done what you did, in a barn, in the night with the tools that you had on hand.
Friday Dr. Kerry Schutten arrived onsite, cleansed the wound, administered IV antibiotics and changed the bandage. ππTHANK YOU KERRYππBeing my, "regular equine vet," it means a lot that you came out because you know my donkeys and it was reassurring to know that you were here during my absence. There's just something "special" about having ones regular vet around when the SHTF.
Sat. Dr. Suzanne Laidlaw came to adminster IV antibiotics, check the wound and change the bandage. This woman radiates happiness and sunshine and was a godsend to one little injured creature on a Saturday.
I would give you ladies 100 stars, if I could....and I cannot find the words to express my deepest gratitude to everyone who helped put one small donkey back on his feet.
Way to go Main Street....what a truly remarkable and OVER THE TOP job you have done! You are living proof that really good people do exist on this planet.
