My family and I have been coming here since they've opened, about 3 years now. We have three dogs, and gotten all our dogs shots and basic health maintenance done through this facility. We brought a serious matter to their attention concerning our senior dog; He gave her antibiotics for possible sinus problems and we were going to see how they would help her. Our dog Ginger took a drastic turn for the worse. In four days, from looking slightly sick (nose bleed,stuffy nose) to being on deaths doorstep. (Unable to breath, eyes swollen, bleeding from multiple locations, etc) We brought her back in to see why she was doing so poorly and he said she had brain tumours and needed to be put down, that same night. ( he even was showing my parents the different urns and memorabilia you can get for your diseased dog) My dad wanted my sister and I to be able to say goodbye to our childhood pet, so he took her home and scheduled the euthanization appointment for the following day at 5pm. My sister took the day off and I left work early so we could spend time with our dog, preparing to say goodbye. My father comes home saying he would like to get a second opinion from another vet as a friend recommended it. (Since all these new problems sound like side effects/reactions to the antibiotics) As soon as we brought her there (Cambridge Animal Hospital), the vets there were so different, so professional and caring. They offered options such as, X-ray, bloodwork, gave her steroids and morphine. They have been monitoring her and she is improving, she may have underlying problems but atleast they are trying to maintain her way of life and diagnose her. We had no problem spending money on getting these tests done for her as she's never had health issues before. Yeah, we're not going to spend thousands on CT scans to clarify she has cancer which we stated to the original vet. But he didn't even offer X-ray or blood work or anything to find out any problems, prob since he doesnt offer it at his facility. It's as if he would rather make money on our dog being put down rather then actually helping us and referring us to someone who could help or provide more for us. I'm just appalled and figured I had to write an extensive explanation to why my rating is the way it is, to save you all the heart ache and torment my family had gone through. Read Less

I can't say enough good things about Townline Animal Hospital and Dr. Kevin Waddell. After a scare with our 15yr old dog they took at look at him right away, explained everything clearly and did not try to over-sell procedures, drugs or products. Kevin is very honest, prices are more than fair and I am so grateful to have found this vet after another vet's office charged us $350 for something that only turned out to be a "sore leg" and then made me feel like a criminal for not buying their special vet dog food. This is the place to go if you need a veterinarian. Dr. Waddell will take time with you and your pet. He will make sure he explains everything to you, and answers any questions you may have. I've been taking my pets there for years, and every time I go I am reminded of how lucky my pets and myself are to have such a great veterinarian nearby. We have two boxers one of which has had more then her fair share of issues! We switched to Kevin after another vets office missed something so simple that it has now affected our fur baby for the rest of her life. Kevin and his staff are always welcoming and very accommodating, his advice is honest and down to earth, pricing is WAY more then fair, but most of all I have no concerns if I have to leave my dog in his care. Love townline! They are always so helpful and kind. Our old vet wasn't as good with big dog as townline! Once again best vet in Cambridge Edit: people answering the phones needs a lesson in phone etiquette. It's not appropriate to hang up on customers WELL STILL TALKING and when someone says thank you, you say your welcome, not hang up on them. I get the feeling that they don't know that they are being rude and will bring it up with them on my visit with the dr. I feel he deserves to know they are talking down to me. Read Less

This place is great! Dr. Waddell took the time to explain any and all possible outcomes with our new Rottweiler (Good and Bad) and even explained which drug brands he preferred for vaccinations and why. He gave us plenty of information and was not biased towards the products he carried in his office. He told us what would be beneficial and what he thought would be most cost effective and helped us come up with a great schedule for our new puppy. We somehow managed to be the last appointment of the day and he did not rush us and took his time to explain and gave us more than enough time to ask questions and he did not rush his answers. Took my dog here for her TPLO in July 2015, meeting Kevin at first I thought he nice but that all changed once she had her surgery. Kevin became very cold towards her. My dog has her issues and is very afraid especially of strangers but to be further questioned as if I've done something towards her for her to be like that was unbelievable. He never asked if there were ways about handling her or coaxing her better. He just did what he wanted. He also told me that my dog was extremely stressful on him and his staff because she continued to pee on herself after the surgery and while she was resting nor did not want to leave the crate they put her in. Well I'm sorry she was probably very much afraid and confused but no one called me to inform me of this I was rudely informed the evening I picked her up. It's been 6 months and I haven't heard boo from them which is a little surprising for such a major surgery. If I could go back and spend $4000 on the surgery again I certainly would not choose Kevin's vet clinic to take my dog too.Read Less

Our family has taken our kitties to Dr. Kevin for several years now, I think since he opened. When we had to put my childhood cat down due to old age and health complications, he was so compassionate and kind through the whole process. Now that I am married and have my own 3 furr babies, Dr. Kevin has been incredibly patient with us. All three of our kittens are rescues and have had some health problems, but Dr. Kevin has been so sincere and has always helped us find the most affordable means to treat our babies from deworming to antibiotics. He takes time out of his busy day to answer phone calls with a simple question, or when he can, a quick drop in appointment. It's so obvious by the way he handles our cats that he is a caring pet parent himself, and only wants the best for all of his patients and their parents. He even checks in a few days after each visit to see how the kittens are feeling! I would recommend Townline Animal Hospital to anyone with a four legged baby. I've even convinced a few workmates in Guelph to visit Dr Kevin the next time they need medical advice! And we can't wait to support the new Global Pet Foods that Dr Kevin's wife has just opened up in the same plaza! Thanks for making my babies healthy! Kevin and his staff have always taken amazing care of our fur children. He never minds phone calls for questions or drop ins for checking our pets weight.
