Terrible. Fancy new office. Disinterested service. Sadly poor. 1 1/2 hour waiting before I gave up. Waited two weeks for this appointment. Rearranged my schedule to make this appointment. Arrived 1/2 early. Told to wait in our car. No problem. Came in told only one person per dog.So my husband waited in the car in February. Had to point out by 3 p.n. that my appointment was at 2:20 and would it be much longer? Meanwhile they saw 3 people in the same group with a 3 p.m. appointment No interest. Explanation being that they are an emergency hospital. Then why book an appointment? Read Less

Honestly we would give Cavan Hills vets 10 stars if we could. We had to take our 4 year old Newfoundland Boxer there for an emergency, and ended up having to go three days in a row, and the last day he had to stay over night. The care he got, and the care we got was just beyond incredible. They took his blanket so he could smell home, even got it back to us and we noticed they labeled it "Gothams Blanket" so it wouldn't get lost. The receptions brought happy tears to our eyes when we called late at night for an update, she took her time putting us on hold to actually get an update on him. Took my Chevy in today, thinking we were going to have to say goodbye. I called while we were on our way. We got there and pulled up to the front door. They were waiting for us..stretcher in place. The team of 3 got him out of my truck & carried him to the stretcher and took him right in for assessment… lucky for us, he was ok and Dr Yim was amazing, explaining everything to us. The care, the treatment we received from the second we got there was beyond words. We highly recommend this emergency clinic 100%. This review is a must read... we own Steele Croft Kennels in Fenelon Falls and breed American Bullies ( pockets) and had a scheduled c section booked for Friday ( two days from now ) at a Vetranary Hospital in the GTA but they miscalculated the days and left short 2 days and our dog was going into her first labour and needless to say our vet was booked up and couldn’t accommodate our Dodd emergency needs. We had used Cavan once in the past when something similar happened so we called them at 08:00 am. They asked a few necessary questions and told us as soon as our dogs water breaks to bring her in and they would be ready for her. About and hour or so later sure enough her water broke so we phoned Cavan again to advise that we were on our way and once again they welcomed us and said that they would have a team ready. We arrived and were met at the door (COVID Regulations) where we were mat they took our dog and the surgeon was back on the phone with me within a few minutes to ask a few further questions and giving us detailed information on what he was going to do for us including pricing etc. and was so wonderful, he even called us back after surgery and went over ever last detail with us making us feel relaxed and valued. Ok so now comes the money 💰 right ... they were 300.00 cheaper then quoted and about 500.00 cheaper then the veteran hospital in Toronto that was supposed to have scheduled this surgery and then left us out in the cold and our dog at serious risk ! In short Cavan will now be our regular Vetranary Hospital for our Bully program & I don’t know how to thank them enough, they are wonderful loving professional and care about every animal and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them as a first choice to any animal owner. I have been a customer of Dr Mazers since he started his practice on Syer Line. But I like many other long time customers have found that it appears as the practice grew the quality of care and service has been replaced by the greed of money. When I arrived for my cats appointment for 3pm the staff first told me I had no appointment. I repeated my date and time so the staff went and looked about 10 minutes later the staff member came out and said the had found it and everything was OK. I then sat my truck with my cat for close to30 minutes watch numerous dogs and cats coming and going, yet no call or even someone coming and taking my cat in happen. So I left as my cat knowing I was upset became upset himself so I left. I emailed DR. Mazer and he stated my phone was not working yet when I sent him my cell phone # it worked I told him strait his staff just forgot about us because far as they were concerned we were supposed to be there. Let me say we have always gone there with 2 of our dogs. Very disappointed in them with our Tucker he was diagnosed on Tues with congestive heart failure. The vet recommended some tests we were so vulnerable that day. He was given meds and I kept asking how long tucker has and he said lets not go there yet. He followed up with 2 phone calls and kept saying lets not go there as Tucker was not getting better I asked if we decide to put him down can we be with him and the answer was no cause of covid. So 840 dollars later we found a vet that would help us out. He told us Tucker was very ill and he told us we were doing the right thing as he was suffering and in bad shape. I just wish The vet had been very upfront with us and tell us his quality life was not good so now were stuck with meds that never helped and 840 dollars later. RIP Tucker till we meet again. Our dear Gracie lab pointer mix was hit by a car on Jan 1st, she went for surgery on Jan 3rd and surgery went well. The surgeon called us at 7 pm and apparently she went into cardiac arrest on the way to recovery. Not much of an explanation of what went wrong. I had so many questions and in the end received a compassionate discount after her passing unexpectedly. Communication was horrible except for one I could talk to, her name was krista and she was amazing with me. We then got the call today to pick up the plaque we ordered and paw print and her ashes. Only to find out no ashes at all! Of course I called the vet right away and my response was they are very sorry they made a mistake in her cremation!! Horrible service!!! I’m not done with them yet! Where to start. I took my dog there because she was sick. It took 2 years and THOUSANDS of dollars for them to come up with a diagnosis. She even had an exploratory surgery to see what was wrong with her and they missed cancer. By the time they finally figured out what was wrong with my dog it was too late and there was nothing they could do. When you wait on the phone for 30mins they talk about how they specialize in cancer treatment. Interesting. When my dog was going in to liver failure, I called for euthanasia as they said she would be a priority. She was not. They were so busy that it would’ve taken 12 HOURS for her to be seen to end her suffering. What vet clinic does that. Thankfully the Kawartha animal emergency services was available to make my dog a priority as Cavan could care less about her. Read Less

I cannot say enough positive things about this clinic. I have had 3 emergencies i’ve the last little while and everyone there has been so professional and kind. I had to put a furry family member down and although I had never met vet before, he was so very compassionate. Ha as down this is the vet that I will use for all my fur babies moving forward. Literally could not be happier with this clinic. Brought my dog in today and unfortunately my appt had to be pushed back a bit due to an emergency. I just love this team's dedication to the animals that really need it. They were so kind and compassionate with the owners of the animal in distress and understanding of the people(like me), who then had to wait for our "routine" appts. We took our dog Minnie here for the first time we were treated awesome by the staff and the doctor, our dog was given medicine for her issue and was back to her happy bouncy self in a few days. The vet was clean and very inviting beautiful building lots of beautiful pictures on display as well as pet beds etc. We will definitely be making this our vet for our pets excellent customer service goes a long way and we felt at ease when we got there and the staff took our Minnie out back right away. Had to wait over a week for a veterinarian to inform me of my cats blood work results and still waiting to hear on the urine sample! Long time client of Cavan and will NEVER go back. Had my 2 boys In with the puppy plan. All was well, they liked the vet and went in for nail clipping, ear cleaning and routine visits just fine (except the needles, my one boy didn’t like them at all) Put the 2 boys in for neuter and they came out COMPLETELY different dogs. They were overly sedated and muzzled. They now have to be sedated completely to be seen by a vet and are terrified of nail clipping, which they may need to be sedated for as well, we are working on this. The way they left a message to pick up my boys after the neuter was “come and get your dogs, they hate us” From this experience is has cost me over $2000.00 on training for my one boy and a world of anguish with both. I believe they have just made themselves so busy to pay for their new construction that they do not take the time with their clients and rush every dog into their time slot. It’s turned into a MEAT market. We also had issues before with our previous dog who passed, this is not the first strike as I do understand life is not always perfect. Very disappointed. Had an appointment for 340 , May28 , 20 . Had to wait until 6pm to get my dog to see the vet.the reasons for the delay are there's to manage . That wait is rediculous. My dog had surgery done in their clinic (cost of $4000) . My dog was released from the clinic with the assurance that it was in stable condition. My dog was still bleeding fresh blood as well as having respiratory distress. I called the clinic and they kept telling me everything was normal. I wanted to speak to the vet but was constantly told that he was busy and would return my call which he never did. My dog continued to deteriorate and I brought him to the emergency clinic. The emergency clinic vet was very surprised that my dog was released in such poor condition. I cannot recommend this clinic as I feel that their main concern is money and the care of my dog is definitely secondary. Read Less

THIS PLACE SHOULD BE TOTALLY ASHAMED OF THEMSELVES. WAS IN YESTERDAY WITH MY VERY SICK CAT. IT TOOK THE 2 RECEPTIONISTS ON STAFF 15 MINS TO ACKNOWLEDGE MY ARRIVAL. I WAS TOLD IT WOULD BE A 4 HOUR WAIT FOR AN EMERGENCY. THEY HAD BOOKED APPOINTMENTS AHEAD OF MY CAT THAT WAS DYING. ( I THOUGHT THIS WAS AN EMERGENCY CLINIC ) THEY TOLD ME I COULD COME BACK IN 4 HOURS AND A VET WOULD BE AVAILABLE TO SEE MY CAT. I RETURNED TO THE THE CLINIC 4 HOURS LATER THE VET LOOKED AT MY CAT AND IT TOOK HER LESS THEN A MINUTE TO EXPLAIN WHAT TESTS THEY WERE GOING TO DO AND ALMOST 5 MINUTES TO GO THROUGH THE FEES THAT WOULD BE ASSOCIATED FOR THEM. OF COURSE I HAD TO AGREE. I LEFT MY CAT WITH THEM THEY SAID THEY WOULD CALL ME BACK IN AN HOUR WITH THE RESULTS. 3 HOURS LATER I CALLED THEM TO INQUIRE ABOUT MY CAT. THE VET CALLED ME BACK WITH BLOOD WORK RESULTS. KIDNEY AND LIVER INFECTION. SHE ONCE AGAIN WAS VERY QUICK TO SUGGEST WHAT THEY CAN DO AND THE COST ASSOCIATED WITH DOING SO. MY CAT RECEIVED AN EXAMINATION, BLOOD WORK, A 1 HOUR OF INTRAVENOUS. FORGOT TO MENTION THAT I HAD TO LEAVE ALMOST A $600.00 DEPOSIT BEFORE I LEFT. I DECIDED THAT IT WAS BEST TO PUT MY CAT DOWN. ONCE AGAIN VERY QUICKLY THEY ADVISED ME OF THE COST IN DOING SO AND OFFERED MANY DIFFERENT OPTIONS FOR CREMATIONS AND THE COSTS IN DOING SO. $900.00 FOR A BLOOD TEST, INTRAVENOUS AND TO PUT HIM DOWN! LESS THEN AN HOUR OF CARE! THIS VET IS A MONEY MAKING RACKET AND CARES MORE ABOUT THE MONEY THEN THE PERSONAL CARE OF YOU BELOVED PET. If I could leave a 0 star I would. Dr Maser was great when he was involved, now that he is not, I would NEVER recommend this place to anyone. I have never had such BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE, ERRORS BY VETS, MISINFORMATION FROM TECHS/VETS, LACK OF PLAN FOR TREATMENT/TESTING/COURSE OF ACTION IN A TIMELY MANOR as they were so busy a vet told me, no update calls from vet/tech unless I initiated it and requested a return call. Never take your loved pet to this place, you can do better anywhere else and for less money and if not for less money at least you can be sure your beloved pet is getting the care and attention they deserve and need. I took my sick pug from an emergency vet with IV still in her arm to Cavan Hills for their 24 hour care, as I believed she would receive better care there and less expensive then an emergency vet practice. While she was admitted, I called and asked many questions only to get told different contradicting stories each time we spoke. One time I was told she was fine and beginning to eat and the next time they would tell me she took a turn and no had not been eating and continuing to regurgitate. For 12 hours they let her lie doing nothing but administering IV. When Sunday night rolled around and she was still there, I was told by one vet "that day, they were really busy and must not have had time". Late Sunday a vet tech told me they were going to get a second opinion...on what I asked and why had this not been done earlier as she was a vet tech and unsure she would have a vet call me back. Around 2am Sunday after speaking to another vet explained a second opinion to see if they should do a barium test to see if something was blocked that was not showing up on the xray...I said just do it, no need to consult and pay someone else to do what should have been done 12 hours ago, if you had not forgotten about her all day Sunday as she lay so quietly in her crate. After the barium test was done it showed nothing blocked and she started to become herself again and I picked her up Monday night full of life. I was then presented with the $3,000.00 bill, to be told it's right. I had been quoted 2k. After speaking with the arrogant Vet Dominic Li, he finally realized the invoice was not mine but for someone else. Yet another mistake. I paid my 2k bill so I could get my dog back but wanted to speak to Nathalie the office manager about the 12 hours of no care while she was there and also the charge for the IV they put in and billed me $164.00 for. I thought it was funny that the emergency vet charged me $64.00 for the IV catheter and Cavan a regular vet with no emergency fees ever charged me $164.00 and it was already in place. I guess they forgot my dog arrived with with the IV catheter in her arm from the emergency vet. I called almost daily for Nathalie, she was busy, in meetings but I was told she was getting my messages by reception. I left a note for the owner Richard Maser to please call me. I never received any calls back. I called yesterday as my dog was regurgitating again and asked for Natalie or a vet to call me back as something was wrong and I needed advice. Not one call from anyone. I called today to speak to Nathalie and she was just arriving and would call me back, I said too late my baby died, no point calling me back now. The receptionist Marybeth (?) said oh sorry you should have brought her in, I said I was waiting for someone to call me as I was not sure what was wrong and needed advice. My next steps are to file a complaint to the OMVA and I encourage everyone else who experiences poor service and inaccurate information to do the same. Writing on this website is good but it will not hold them accountable for their actions or lack thereof. I'm giving one star because they helped my dog. HOWEVER, this is the WORST customer service I've ever dealt with. Have talked to multiple women being receptionists and accountants. We were blatantly lied to about the cost of treating our dog saying that if they had to do a specific treatment it would cost a certain amount. They never ended up having to do the treatment yet tried to charge us over the highest estimate they gave us. We have been asking for someone to explain the bill and they keep ignoring our requests saying "this is the bill you have to pay it". The fact that they won't even explain our bill or how they got to that number is raising all the red flags. If you can find somewhere else to take your animal I highly recommend it. Read Less

Sadly this office has gone downhill over the last year or so. Worse since Dr Shan left. They have provided me so much misinformation on my animals healing process. After having a large lump removed from his side he was sent home with no antibiotics even though we had questioned needing them. Though it's not always required, we did request them. The area began to swell and grow larger than before, we took took him in immediately and they instructed us to put heat on it and wrap it in a bandage. We stated we think it's infected but we were told by two of the vets (separate visit same issue) that is was normal.  after using the bandage wrap and hot compress, one night the lump exploded. We brought him in at 1am, and the new vet questioned why we were never given antibiotics, as his side clearly swelled up. We informed her we requested them on several occasions but was told it wasn't infected. She assured us it was and expressed her sympathy for the previous vets error. We were given antibiotics and thankfully he healed. Same happened with an ear infection, which was the last straw. We kept bringing him in for the same ear infection, the last time they did an ear swab and informed us there was no infection- later it was determined he did in fact have an infection and when I called to report their error and I was given attitude by their receptionist (Brittany) whom I have witnessed on numerous occasions be rude to other customers in person and on the phone, then heard her trash talk those same customers to other receptionists after they had left. I have never had an issue since the attitude was not directed at me, this time however it was- and I wasn't having it. Considering I was dealing with a sick dog that SHOULD HAVE BEEN TAKEN CARE OF ON HIS FIRST VISIT. If someone reports an issue, whether you as a RECEPTIONIST (not a vet) agree with it or not, listen to the customer and don't give your attitude in return. After this interaction with Brittany I decided this was our last visit to Cavan Hills. They'd given an abundance of misinformation, misdiagnosis, and now talking to me with disrespect. No thanks. Even worse. When switching to a new vet it took 3 months and numerous attempts to get my dogs file. Even when they stated it was sent, all that my new vet received was old information from 2016 when we had ongoing issues leading right up to my last visit end of 2018. So unprofessional. I didn't want to write a review like this I simply wanted to brush it off- but the other week Cavan Hills called to ask about medicine we had on hold and when I stated we have a new vet and mentioned the issues why, the receptionist still didn't care to listen about my concerns. Please don't waste your time or money with these people. They are poorly educated, give horrible advice, and their vets and receptionists feel they can talk rudely to you when you're dealing with a sick pet. Read Less

Cavan Hills used to always be held in such high regard but some of our recent experiences have led us to seek our veterinary care elsewhere. I am not sure what has changed with that facility but it is not for the good. Our dog had recent surgery and the level of care is not what it once was. One gets the sense that their key objective is to squeeze as much cash as they can out of you and providing the bare minimum of service while they are doing it. Lab results that we paid good money for were sub-standard only because Cavan Hills failed to provide proper charting to the lab. Cavan Hills cross-contaminated samples, mis-identified the bread of dog, and provided minimal details on their submission paperwork. Read Less

Cavan is MISDIAGNOSED AND OVERCHARGING EVERYONE. Brought my cat in very sick, looked in her mouth, blood work, lots of tests, medications, must be enimic, come back in 2 weeks to contribute to our new building so we can further prey on the uniformed. Drove to Brimley vet FIRST VISIT bad teeth my horror story over, found a vet that charges a FAIR PRICE and more importantly the correct diagnosis. Cavan this is to remind you that this life is short, my FATHER sees everything, we will all be judged. We took a chance on Cavan Hills a few years back when we moved in to the area and have never been disappointed! The staff and vets are friendly and knowledgeable and the pricing more than reasonable,especially for emergencies. We have brought guinea pigs, rabbits and dogs there and each were treated with care with thorough exams. I always feel that the vets there listen to me, take my knowledge and concerns seriously and we can maturely discuss the best course of treatment. When we were losing our golden retriever Murray to cancer the staff was so sympathetic, compassionate and understanding as we helped him start his eternal slumber. I especially love that they have a separate door so you can leave without having to walk through the waiting room after. When we've had animals pass they never fail to call and send sympathy cards in the mail. After emergencies they ALWAYS check up to see how our furbaby is doing. Most recently, our elder dog had an incident at the park and a tooth ripped out from impact with another dog. Being a late Saturday afternoon, we flew up to Cavan Hills where Genevieve was quickly brought in to the back to help the bleeding before we saw the vet. She ended up staying overnight where she had a full dental and reconstructive surgery on the damaged spot. This was our first experience with their surgical skills and they did a wonderful job - no complications, area looked great and Gen healed up quickly. And of course a few days after taking her home we received a phone call from them just checking in. I truly can't recommend this place enough. Absolutely shameful place!! Tried denying that they spayed my dog in 2007, wanted me to pay $2,000 for a surgery I am certain she would not have survived. She came home that day & looked for somewhere to hide, to pass away. Cold, dishonest, unsympathetic, money hungry place. This place does not even deserve 1 star. Do NOT take you animal here. They have had 2 chances with my dog, Mackenzie. 2 years ago, I took her there for what ended up being a skin tag on her paw. They told me it was cancer! I wrestled with putting her down, but luckily got a 2nd opinion, and after the other veterinarian removed it, she was like a puppy again. Last week, she had been throwing up and I thought had an infection. They did blood work and said some of her organs were going. They asked if she had been spayed (due to the infection) and when I said they (Cavan) did the spay in 2007, they back peddled saying they did not do the surgery, probably worried about liability from a surgery from 11 years ago!!!!!! Whatever. They then proceeded to present an estimate for surgery for her to me, it was approximately $2,000. When I said I needed to speak to my kids about her condition, they had me sign something saying I was taking her against medical advice. We went home from that appointment, she had 1 antibiotic, which she threw up and proceeded to look for somewhere to hide as she knew how ill she was. NEVER was euthanasia discussed and they were very cold, unsympathetic and all they want is your money. Not once have they followed up to ask how she is. For the record, I found a very caring vet in Oshawa, who was genuine and sympathetic. If I had paid the $2,000 for the surgery, she would have died in surgery. I am sure of it, as I had her put down the next night and she was so weak they couldn't put the IV in her paw. These people misdiagnose animals, they do not care, about the animal or the owner. All they want is your money and they don't care how they get it. Do NOT take your animal here, they are disgusting people. Read Less

I recently put my 15 week old Rottweiler down there but before i made this decision they tried everything to save her and they were absolutely amazing. They truly care about your fury companion there. They are also so understanding with your financial abilities. Highly recommend them. ❤ Read Less

Today was my first time bringing my ball python in. My snake is currently sick with a respiratory infection and I've been worried sick about him. I mixed my dates up and came a day early, but they accomdated us and saw him. He was checked out by Sabrina Cirone who really knew what she was doing. She taught me how to inject him with his antibiotics. She was very thorough and made sure to go over his husbandry, temps and humidity. We recently switched over to a snake rack and have been having issues keeping up the humidity - which in turn caused him to get sick 😫 Now all has been rectified with a lot of tweaking, but It was super nice that Sabrina was very knowledgeable on reptiles. I will definitely be going back to see her again if something should arise with my reptiles in the future. Thank you Cavan Hills and especially, Sabrina for taking the time to see us. Read Less

I would not take my dogs anywhere else!! It's an 24/7 energency care, yet the prices are very reasonable. Cheaper than most vets. We took our 10 week old pup there just in time as he had parvo. Ended up 4 of the pups from the same litter all had it. Dr Richard & staff saved our Bentley & the other 3 pups. They treat all the animals there as if they were there own. There amazing people. This is a place that genuinely cares for our furry friends. they are compassionate for what they do. I drive an hour away just for their service I even have to wait sometimes but at the end of it all my dog is happy, we are happy and the vet is always there for us. I brought my beloved Quincy in because he was in pain. I had numerous visits and after anti inflammatory, pain pills, antibiotics and X-ray's and $1000, I don't have, my precious baby died on Sunday. I am heartbroken and feel the cavan veterinary clinic let my dog die. Read Less

They are incredibly knowledgeable and caring when it comes to pets, and their prices are the best around. My only caveat is that you'll likely be seeing a different vet each time if you need long term care, which in my case resulted in a multitude of different diagnoses for my ill cat. If you need long term care and a single committed vet, I would recommend you go elsewhere just for consistency. But for absolutely anything else Cavan Hills is fantastic. Read Less

We had an emergency, and rushed our Dog in. The experience we had at Cavan Hills was fantastic (reasonable rates, didn't have to wait long). Dr. Cirone was our vet, and was really excellent (knowledgeable, empathetic), and worked very hard to put us and our pet at ease. The ACA's were also great! Read Less

We are incredibly disappointed and quite frankly, disgusted, with our most recent experience @ Cavan Hills. I found Dr.Good to be seriously lacking in bedside manner and compassion towards my sick dog. In addition, he seemed to struggle to properly administer and read an ultrasound that he performed on my pet, which really had me questioning his skills set. He prescribed medication that ultimately caused our dog to develop a bleeding ulcer. Despite repeated phone calls looking for assistance before, this unfortunate, situation ultimately occurred - he basically ignored our pleas for advice on the symptoms our dog was presenting, from the medication he prescribed- hence, the bleeding ulcer! As it turns out, he neglected to review with us the potential side effects of the medication that he was prescribing for our pet - complete incompetence in my opinion. I felt like the only thing he was interested in was adding more charges to our vet bill. He even tried to charge me twice for the same ultrasound. Lastly, I have always had pleasant interactions with their reception staff and am particularly fond of Meredith. However, during my last visit, I was very unimpressed with a newer member of their reception staff by the name of Kate. She would be well served to take a course in customer service! I had requested a copy of Dr. Good's ultrasound report - they could not find one! They assured me several times that they would look into it and email it to me - this never happened. We have had a pretty unfortunate experience dealing with Cavan Hills. However.. I would like to note that there are multiple vets @ their office so it is very possible others would have a more pleasant experience than we did. Our dog had a very enlarged prostate & was bleeding so we chose to go to Cavan Hills for ultrasounds due for the cost factor compared to our family vet. We stayed 4 hours for results but were told we could leave after 2 hours & we would get a call about the results. We refused to leave without answers. After 4 hours the vet said he didn't understand the report so told us he would treat it with antibiotics before surgery in 2 weeks .. then call me the next day with proper explanations of the report. 3 days later and 6-8 phone calls later & I finally got an answer from a different vet explaining the report. There were no records of my multiple calls to them on his file so every time I called it was a new explanation. Also, his surgery is scheduled to be done by a vet we have never met (nor do I know their name) which I am uncomfortable with as I want to be sure my dog is in the best care while undergoing surgery. I have read some reviews that depending on emergency surgeries that come in, even with pre-scheduled surgery appt's, your pet will be delayed if other animals need to be seen first. I want my dog to be seen promptly and know that when I drop him off he won't be in a crate/cage for 4 hours. Needless to say we decided to not go ahead with surgery at this clinic (we don't care that we're paying more @ his regular vet b/c we trust them & know who is performing it & trust him greatly). I hope others will read this review & understand that this was just OUR experience & there are other doctors that may be much more reliable at this clinic but we did not get lucky that's for sure. I also had to follow-up 3 times to ensure his results were e-mailed to our family vet & eventually just dealt with the supervisor of their front staff since nothing was getting accomplished. Been bringing my reptiles and fur babies to Cavan hills for almost 4 years. Hands down the best. Dr. Bartlett is by far amazing and takes the time to answer all questions. Never felt rushed. We lost a long time family pet last week and the Docs and staff were so supportive during the whole process. Kind and caring. I have a dragon under regular care and Dr. B also ensures all my questions are answered, i can even call in and i always get a response. This vet hospital clinic is busy and deals with emergencies. They are open 24/7. Hands down a 5 star rating from me and my scaley and fur babies!! Read Less

Cavan Hills has saved my dog twice in the 8 years I have had her. They were always compassionate, thorough and took the time to explain things fully to me as well as make adjustments to the final cost. They treated my dog absolutely amazingly and gave her so much loving, not to mention they always called to check on her after! Cavan hills has always been and will always be my vet. I cannot say enough about the care we have received - mosly in the last few months. We have had 2 emergency visits in a short time. Both of these visits we have been struck with uncertainty, and of course overwhelming fear. Cavan Hills only responded quicky, they took every single measure possible to help our dogs. They reassured us, and were available anytime of day - or night to answer questions. I remember calling very early in the morning hours because I could not sleep. I would like to thank all of the vets and vet techs that made my experience at Cavan Hills as comfortable as possible. We where kept well aware of the situation throughout and in the end had to make a difficult decision to have little Tangos life end. Cavan Hills got him at his most critical and if it wasn't for the vet previous to them he may have had a chance. I can't thank Cavan Hills enough for all that they tried to do for him. Our big baby Murray, harlequin Great Dane, recently was neutered and given the royal treatment. He has been healing extremely well. It was his first night away from me but he didn't seem to care, the staff treated him so great. Very accommodating and compassionate. I would highly recommend Cavan for the care of your pet. My rabbit was very sick over Christmas and Cavan Hills Veterinary took excellent care of my Albus and brought him back to health. Albus was there for about a week and a half, each of the Doctors looked after him. Each day they took the time to explain to me how he was doing and the next steps of the treatment plan. Although I was willing to do anything to make Albus better I really appreciated that they called me each step of the way to update me with cost and options for treatment. One night in last August I walked into your building with hope that my sweet girl was going to get the help she needed. I left hours later with my 130lbs baby girl in tow, barely able to walk, and with no answers. She was prescribed multiple medications, for various symptoms, and she never got a chance to take any. The next night in a desperate attempt to save my dogs life I took her to a Toronto emergency veterinarian clinic where she later died in my arms. She was two years old and the glue that held my family together. She died of an obstructed bowel that burst and made her septic. She died in so much pain that I was relieved to watch her pass away. Even though your team ran multiple diagnostic tests and took many images via x-ray, and ultrasound you somehow missed the mass in her bowel. I don't know if she would have lived through surgery if you had of caught the mass that night, but what I do know is that you took away her only fighting chance at life. I have a strong belief that if I had taken Tallah to any other emergency clinic that night, she would be alive and healthy today. It's a shame I have to write this review, and it took me months to do so, but I don't want anyone else to go through the experience I had with your services.Read Less

Very happy with the continued service I have had from Cavan Hills. We had a very sick kitten and they went above and beyond to help us with her. Never sounding annoyed at my continuous phone calls to get updates and they were very good at understanding the financial side of things. I've always been able to euthanize my animals on the farm and this was my first in clinic experience and they were very kind and compassionate throughout the process. They saved my dog's life last night! After eating a ton of chocolate had to rush him to Cavan Hills Veterinary since nothing is open past 7 in my town. The staff were friendly and sympathetic and understanding even after the 3rd and 4th times I called for an update on my little guy. Prices are competitive too. They gave me a quote for dental care that was $300 less than the quote I got from our regular vet. Very happy with the care my baby received, their customer service and value for money. Read Less

Always excellent service! I can tell they really care about my pets. They are open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and are always available for pet emergency's. I took my 5 year-old Bernese Mountain dogs here for the first time when she had a really really bad eye infection. They were able to fit me in for an appointment that day! The prices are good, as they do not charge an emergency fee if you have to take your pet there without notifying them first. When my dog had her eye infection I called another get clinic closer to me and they wanted to charge me $350+ to bring her in to look at. I always heard good things about the Cavan vet clinic, so I called them. I ended up paying about $150 (maybe a little more) for the eye appointment and drops, which way extremely better than the other get clinic I called. When I got there is was quite busy,as it always is. But they move very efficiently and I did not have to wait long at all. We saw Dr.Good, he was super friendly and explained my dogs eye situation very well. (the infection cleared up in 2 day).I also took my other dog here to get spayed, and as usual excellent service, kind workers and prices that cant be beat anywhere else. Dr. Maser and Dr. Good are amazing! They put up with me calling every day for a week until my dog had her surgery and talking to me directly. My dog needed a vaginal tumour removed, mammary gland tumours removed and to be spayed. She was under for 2 1/2 hours and had a total of 8 incisions- pretty complex surgery. The vet techs were awesome, they let me go in the back and stay with my dog for an hour while she was waking up from anesthesia and let me visit with her the following day. It was extremely comforting when Dr. Maser, Dr. Bahlmann and Dr. Cirone all said they were happy that I decided to do this surgery because it was a very successful outcome. I am extremely Thankful for all the staff at Cavan for providing Sable with the best love and care!! Read Less

I recently moved to the area and thought I would try Cavan Hills Vet. I booked to have a couple of my dogs to get fixed. My one dog needed to get vaccines first, so I had that done and paid for it when I brought them in for the surgery I was told there was an additional charge for part 2 of the 1 vaccine that was not included in the original price (which I was not told). Ok a bit annoyed. I was originally quoted a price for the 2 surgeries, when I dropped them off I paid 50% of the total they gave me on paper, when I went to pick them up, the price was 50% more than what I was expecting. I was told it was miscommunication on their part. Ten days later I brought my 2 fur babies in to get the staples out, a few days later I had to bring one of them back as they missed a staple, not good. Three days after that as my other lay in the sun I noticed that he too had a staple left in, Very annoyed and again not good. I spoke to the them at the vet and I called to let them know what had happened as I found these things to be unacceptable! They said they would work on the communication from within. So I though I would try again because people sometimes make mistakes. I phoned for a consultation to get a price for another surgery for one of my other pups. Upon leaving I was told the cost for my 5 min visit was $97, which is only $3 less than if my pup had vaccines. When I asked about it was told that's the price. Now I wasn't expecting it to be free but I certainly wasn't expecting a 5 min visit where nothing was given except a quote to spend more $$ to be as much as something where my pup would have gotten something out of it. Again I called and again no one called back. Very poor customer service and expect lots of hidden costs. Very disappointed. On the up side the veterinarians all seemed great too bad the rest of didn't.Read Less

We recently had a beloved bunny who was neglected by another vet. We called Cavan Hills Veterinary Clinic, and the receptionist was so kind and sympathetic to our situation. She pulled some strings in order to get us an emergency appointment that evening. Unfortunately, our bun was too sick and we had to make the tough decision to put him down. The surgeon were amazing about giving us an informed decision about his situation; on top of so much attentive care for our bun, staff were also considerate of our family who was sad to see our beloved friend go. We even recently received a sympathy card from them, which was really above and beyond what we could have asked. The appointment was affordable, especially considering they could have easily charged extra for an emergency evening appointment.
