Etobicoke Veterinary Hospital

I have been going to Etobicoke Veterinary Clinic for 25+ years, I've always found that the staff were courteous and caring and the prices were fair. Upon my miniature poodle getting sick, I visited and met with Dr.Summer in which she diagnosed the issue and within 2 days I had noticed a positive drastic change in my poodle. I travel from Milton to this clinic, and I would highly recommend it to family and friends! Read Less

The vets at this place do not care about your pet, all they care about is money! they over charge for everything and plus this place is dirty and run down. Ive gone to this vet for 10 years and when my dog needed surgery they over charged. I told them that i couldn't afford their over priced surgery. So I asked to pay in 2 installments, they told me to go to the Humane Society! How cruel of them!!!!! therefore i went to another vet and they showed more caring for my dog and charged me $500 less and the surgery went well! The vets at Cornwall are very knowledgable and they took their time examining my dog:) to add Cornwall animal hospital is very clean and sanitary. I will never return to etobicoke vet anymore! Back in February of 2017 I had to put my cat down. I always took her to this vet office and they are the best around. Since I couldn't afford to cremate my cat they told me I could get her paw print done and it was cheap. I take my new cat there now and the vet is so helpful with everything. I'll never switch vet offices, they are great. Read Less

Lawrence our family kitten had eaten something he shouldn't have. He needed to have surgery to save his life. They were very upfront with us about everything. They did an amazing job on him. I highly recommend Etobicoke Veterinary Hospital. I have been going there for the past four years. 1st with my cats. Now with my dog. The staff is very caring and professional. This morning I called because my dog has fleas (like he gets every single spring/summer). Every single time, we get him some advantage to treat the fleas. I called because I know what the problem is and was just needing to get the flea treatment. When I spoke with the girl I asked if it was going to cost me extra to bring him in to get advantage. She asked if we had been there before and I said no. She said the only way it would cost anything is if he has another condition that the vet would need to see him for and to bring him in at 3:30 to get weighed to ensure proper dosage. Satisfied, I agreed and sent my husband at 3:30. After the 20 minute drive, when he arrived he was told it was going to be a $65 for the vet consult. This was completely contrary to what I was advised this morning. He called to to tell me. I then called the vet hospital and explained the scenario to which I was told "nobody would say that we have to see him if he hasn't been here before". So I said, "now you're insulting me by calling me a liar". I said it's unfortunate because I chose that location based solely on their good online reviews as we are new here. She said yeah we treat our animals well. She said it's the law and the staff are well trained. I said I can respect that it's the law but you may wish to reiterate to your staff so nobody else wastes their time. Anyway I'm sure they do treat the animals well, however for something as standard as fleas where you can buy flea treatments pretty much anywhere I feel like this was simply a money grab and should not have happened. Very disappointed and will not take my dog there if heaven forbid he does need care in the future. Read Less

All the staff were so sweet and welcoming. The clinic was a nice and clean environment. My cat was seen fairly quickly without an appointment. Dr.Meghan was so incredible both with my cat and explaining all of our options to us. She had to be quite invasive as my cats ear was bleeding but she was so gentle. Her patience was greatly appreciated. Price wise I've paid a lot more for a lot worse care and they really do try to work with you. Couldn't recommend this place more. Read Less

Very happy with this place. Been bringing my cat here for many years and have always been well taken care of. Prices are very fair and I've never been pushed to do any treatment that seemed excessive. I live about 1 hour away from the hospital and do not mind the driving. Have been taking my dog Michelin there for more than 5 years and my cat Shadow (she passed two years ago) for almost 9 years. I have just come back from my first appointment with Dr. Hana! What an amazing person and vet! I am soooo very happy that I switched to the Etobicoke Vertrenary Hospital. She took her time with us and especially with our Pistachio! She was amazing and I would totally recommend her to everyone!!!!! I have known Dr. Hana Schwarz for a few years now. We met when she worked in Wookstock, ON when I brought in my new puppy Ratchet. From the moment we met, I knew she was a caring and kind person, someone who had passion for her work and loved what she did. Being a new "puppy mom" I had all kinds of concerns and some panic attacks over things I thought were real issues and Hana always approached the situation with a calm, thoughtful and methodical thinking and provided the "whys" and "whats next" solutions. EVH is such a caring and wonderfully thoughtful veterinary hospital. They have always cared for all of my kitties so well. This year was their first ever Pictures with Santa event. It was so well advertised and promoted. The day of the event we arrived a few minutes early and were really pleasantly surprised how well organized they were with hot chocolate and TimBits for all the pet parents. Santa and his elf were seated beside a lovely display near the fireplace. We were in and out very quickly thanks to all the staff and received a lovely picture of our little kitty. I would recommend EVH to anyone and everyone. The staff is fantastic even when your pet can be a little uncooperative (my dog can be a little jerk sometimes). The doctors are fantastic and knowledgeable and have such a calm demeanor. If you are in the area or don't mind a little drive, I would urge you to try them out. I live about 40 min away from Etobicoke Vet clinic but I do not mind driving an extra mile haha awesome Doctors and technicians, pleasant staff and lightning fast service, my puppy Julius just loves Dr. Hana , licks her to death and she always says the same thing " I'm not a lollipop " hahaha I would recommend this clinic to anyone and I already have !! I am changing my review from a good one to a poor one. I just had my cat spayed at your clinic. I was never informed that my cat's surgery was completed I had to call 2 times myself to find out that it was completed and she was doing alright. On her discharge I was not given the post operative pain management or her microchip registration information which I paid for and I had to request to have it given to me. Her e-collar was too large for her head/body and I had to buy a proper fitting one after I left at a pet store. Also where her IV catheter was placed, the sight was never cleaned up after its removal and her leg was covered in dried iodine and blood which I had to clean up when I arrived home. No apology was given to me by any of the staff for their lack of customer service, and poor handling of my discharge appointment. I did however receive attitude by the staff and Veterinarians for voicing my concerns about their customer service. I will never be returning to your clinic and I will never suggest you to anyone I know.Read Less

I brought my Portuguese Water Dog in to have a lump removed from her hind leg. Dr Hana handled this for me with straight forward professionalism and a little twist of her quirky sense of humour. I just had an exceptional experience at this vet. (I've had a fare use of vets in my lifetime with never not having a pet and I know what vet bills can add up to and what experiences can leave in regards to impressions). I recently moved to this area and was in search of a vet closer to home.  Especially because of the circumstances and I google everything! My little senior pug Fifa needed surgery to remove stones in her bladder. Needless to say it was a successful surgery and her recovery was fantastic!!! She had been spayed and has had her teeth cleaned but had never been returned to me in such good spirits. Dr. Hanna was wonderful to deal with. She was professional and literally went over every detail! I got a quote before the surgery! Nice! especially when I know what a friend of mine paid for somewhere else recently and a smaller dog. She even emailed me results for my records without me having to ask. I would definitely recommend this place to fellow pet owners. I will definitely influence friends and family to give this vet a try. I liked the prices and all the staff. They are easy going and personable. I also like that they have drop in hours so if you don't have an appointment you can go in and get seen regardless. I am happy to say this is my new vet! Read Less

Took our dog there for the first time tonight. Our regular vet couldn't get him in for the next couple days and we didn't want to make him wait when he was in pain. We went to Etobicoke Veterinary Hosptial as a walk in. We had to wait a couple hours but the woman at the reception offered to call us if we wanted to leave and come back when our turn was closer. We went out to have a bite and came back. The Vet who saw us was so friendly and helpful. Very reassuring and really took the time to listen. We were really happy with the service and the cost was very reasonable. They even offered to fax the record of our visit there to our regular vet. But to be honest. I like this place better than our regular one. Maybe we will switch. Read Less

I dont recommend anyone take their pet to this clinic because they are CROOKS who will LIE to you and take your MONEY! my french mastiff Remy was suffering from a swollen foot where they made us believe it was just an infection from a bite. this problem lasted over a month where we took Remy in 4 times to figure out the problem about why this swelling wasn't going down. the fourth time it was because she wasnt eating or drinking much,was dehydrated and had lost some weight. at first my mom thought it was because i had moved out and she was depressed... but that wasnt the case. my dog was slowly suffering and dying from CANCER. i had faith in this clinic since i had 2 dogs and a cat go there for about 5 years and never had a problem.. good pricing in comparison to other clinics. BUT when it comes to something major they seem to juice as much money from you as they can before putting your pet down or telling the truth.. any other vet would have taken a blood test right away just incase its cancer. not speculate what it may be. also the blonde receptionist in her 40/50's is rude and inconsiderate when it comes to peoples emotions i saw her turn away 2 people who were obviously in distress because their pets were sick just because it was "too late" to take anyone else in even though it was 30 minutes until closing time. cold hearted people who are in it for the money not the love for animals. everyone has to make a living but lets be humane and not let these 4 legged friends of ours suffer. Remy had went from 135 pounds to 98 pounds in a month, wasnt eating or drinking her last two days. and worst of all had trouble breathing. our whole family suffered to see her suffer. i went to the vet north of wilson on keele to put her down and they took her in on a saturday at 1 even though they were about to close their doors... they gave us our options on surgery and how nothing was secure.. if i had known the truth of what was wrong with her i would have had at least attempted to operate but the cancer and lumps had suddenly spread and it was too late. We had our dwarf bunny neutered there. This was a couple of years ago, so I know I am a bit late with this review. But better late, then never, eh?I can't remember the name of the vet who did the surgery, but we were really happy with this pet clinic in general.I had called quite a few veterinary hospitals for quotes and shockingly the price ranged between $250 and $500 for the surgery + the meds!For a bunny?? Come on! Of course, I wasn't willing to pay that much so I shopped around until I came across the Etobicoke Veterinary Hospital.There we ended up paying $120 which included the surgery, the meds, an overnight stay for our bunny to monitor his recovery and nail clipping.He came home with a ruff since he twas trying to bite at the threads but other than that he was great. The vet did a nice job as it healed perfectly and you can't see anything.Also the staff was really friendly too. I called them twice while our bunny was staying there to make sure he was well and both times the vet tech reacted very nice and told me to stay on the line while she took a look at him again to tell me the latest update on how he seemed to be feeling.
