I would have given him negative stars if that was possible but it's not. Where do I start? First of all run as fast as you can if you're with this clinic or planning on going there or any of his other four clinics that he now owns (listed at the end). I thought I had hit the jackpot when I first went to South Etobicoke animal hospital, owned by Tej Dhaliwal. I'd been to so many vets and left because I was not happy with them. I have never been so wrong in my life. My dog died on March 7th 2021, due to his negligence. My dog was in his "care" for two entire days, Friday and Saturday, and required a very basic surgery to remove a bleeding lump. Instead of doing that he took care of all his client appointments and left my dog in the back bleeding, although they insisted he had stopped bleeding which he had not. Sent him home with me Friday, bleeding and bandaged. I took him back first thing Saturday morning. Had a call from Dhaliwal at 10:30 that morning saying they needed to remove the lump or he would require a blood transfusion. I told him immediately to go ahead and remove the lump, thinking they would do it right away. But no, I get a call at 2:30 that afternoon, which was closing time, telling me not to come and pick him up yet as they were just about to start the surgery, what?! Dhaliwal called me after the surgery and acted like all was good. Went to pick up my boy, he was still under anesthesia, he never woke up. He passed away on Sunday. Tej Dhaliwal is in this business for one reason only and that is the money. He does not give a shit about the animals in his "care". I'm also in contact with another clients who's dog also died in his "care" in August 2021. Due to a basic bandage change. Dhaliwal insisted they had to put the dog under anesthesia to do a bandage change...what? What kind of vet are you that you can't do a bandage change without putting a dog under?? Anyhow, they apparently gave the 8 month old puppy too much anesthesia and the puppy never work up. We both have cases against him with the College of Veterinarians of Ontario. Dhaliwal and his lawyer are refusing to cooperate in my case. Why? Because he knows he's guilty. Stay away from him and beware if you're going to change clinics, he now owns five clinics in the GTA. South Etobicoke Animal Hospital, Dixie Animal Hospital (Mississauga), O'Connor Vet Clinic (North York, Toronto), Fletchers Creek Animal Hospital (Brampton), Lacoste Animal Hospital (Brampton) and Countryside Veterinary Mobile Services.
He also pleaded guilty to (sexual) assault in 2010 and had his license suspended for 5 months by the CVO.
BRIEF SYNOPSIS OF FACTS • Dr. Dhaliwal attended a farm on a professional call. • On arrival there was some confusion about the animals to be dealt with. Dr. Dhaliwal called his supervisor and, while awaiting the return call, he encountered a female employee of the farm (Ms. X) and a conversation ensued concerning a lameness problem with the employee’s dog. • Dr. Dhaliwal informed Ms. X that he was experienced in acupuncture and massage therapy for animals, and proceeded to demonstrate treatment on the dog. • On the pretext of further demonstrating how massage therapy would work on the dog, Dr. Dhaliwal and Ms. X went into a nearby room where Dr. Dhaliwal began to demonstrate the massage on Ms. X’s body. • Ms. X moved away and questioned what that had to do with the dog. • Ms. X returned to the dog. • Dr. Dhaliwal began again to show her how to massage the dog by putting his hand down her pants and touching her groin area while she was bent over the dog.
License was again suspended for 6 months in 2012 by the CVO, although not clear why.
Is this a vet anyone wants tending their beloved pets...I don't think so. He's a monster.
I was waiting for the hearing to come to an end and Dhaliwal found guilty before I posted but because he is not cooperating a year and a half later I'm not waiting any longer.
