SHOCKING. Have been a client here for 4 years. When dog-sitting my "grand-dog", the dog was exhibiting SEVERE symptoms which were described over the phone to the receptionist: body is limp, cannot stand, nor sit nor hold her head up, like a rag doll, vomiting, eyes rolling to back of head, startled and slowed breathing. At 3pm receptionist says that all of their emerg slots are filled, and redirected me to contact the pet emerg service, a one hour drive away. The vet working at the time (the owner of the clinic) tells the tech that this doesn't sound serious and we can see the dog tomorrow morning. What?! Do you mean to say that the vet cannot take 2 minutes to do a screening, or have staff properly trained to ask appropriate questions??? As a dog-owner myself, I would gladly have my own dog's appointment delayed knowing there was another dog is substantial distress - all pet owners would want immediate treatment for a serious condition. Furthermore, an initial visit 4 years ago with our own recently adopted puppy from SPCA with an unnecessary rabies shot at Chidiac. The rabies vaccine certificate was provided to the vet Dr. Doyle when we attended the first visit, but she missed seeing the documentation, and proceeded with a rabies shot without discussing with me first (in case which I would advised the rabies vaccine was ALREADY administered by the SPCA). ALL dogs adopted from the SPCA are provided rabies shots prior to adoption, this is common knowledge!! I should've sought out a new vet at that time, and regrettably did not. There is an obvious lack of concern and compassion, and no appreciation for an established client. Needless to say we will seek out a new vet. Totally unacceptable! Read Less
