I've been going here my whole life even tho I now live in Waterloo. Everyone has always been very friendly and helpful. This vet is one of the best for prices. Took advantage of the dental awareness month, as well as the half-price chip day for out aging dog, Bear. Friendly staff, attention to detail, overall very good experience. I'm not sure what to say as my vet really let me down... We have been clients for over 15 years and multiple pets and when I needed them in an emergency I was told that they were too busy with the Christmas Open house and to find another vet in the area to take my dog or try emergency. I knew this visit was going to cost me a fortune as it was and I could not figure out why I should have to pay an emergency vet extra money when my vet was in the office and could have even offered to take 5 mins after the open house to look at her, if at that point she needed a hospital I would have done so immediately.... So I called around and ended up taking her to a vet in Georgetown who spent so much time with us and Bella that we have made the decision to switch.... considering Dr. Roberts couldn't even call my cell on the following Monday while I was at this new vets waiting to see what we should do... unhook Bella and bring her to Rockwood for further treatment or leave her there.... I got my answer loud and clear. Rockwood has never called me to this day to see how Bella is, the other vet called me 5 times over the weekend she was home to see how she was doing... This office used to be amazing and now it seems we are not so important anymore....Guelph St Animal Hospital in Georgetown. The hours are amazing open till 12am during the week and 5pm on weekends, Sat and Sun.... awesome vet! So awesome that when Bella when in for her 2 week follow up she was crying to go back when she heard their voices... This is an amazing veterinary clinic, and everyone who works there truly cares about your pets. I adopted my two kittens from this vet about a year ago, and since then I've had to take them in several times for accidents and unexpected eye infections, etc., and they always manage to get me in on short notice and take such amazing care of my kitties. This has been our vet for the past three years. They have competitive pricing and friendly staff. They have a calendar that every customer can recieve free of charge that has discount days for thi gs live vaccines, dental, etc. Free fecal days and free nail trim days. They have started to up sell on their vaccines, however. I don't love this, as I would rather them only suggest what is needed so that when I do need to get my animals something I am not wondering if they are just up selling.Read Less

We switched over my parents dogs, and just started our new puppy at Rockwood Vet. It's more affordable then the Guelph vets, longer hours so getting an appt is easier, and the staff are super caring and enthusiastic about animals. They offer "discount days" where you can save 10% on major services (ex vaccines, spay/neuter) as well as "free days" where things like nail trimming or ear cleaning are free. They provide a calendar with these dates. Vets and techs are lovely with our pup, and quick to see their customers. Ladies at the front are super knowledgeable and organized! They took excellent care of my dog while he was still alive. The vets explain everything you need to know. They have kitten days, so you can save money on that. I find when I mention I got my cat at the humane society they're willing to give discounts. Plus, they have coffee and cookies! Read Less

I would not recommend this vet. My mothers dog was brought there about 6 months ago when he wasn't feeling well. They kept him overnight, charged her $900 and diagnosed him as diabetic. We took him home and three days later he passed away. The U of G hospital performed an autopsy and they believed that he had passed from an insulin overdose. The very thing he was being treated for. I will never trust them to care for my animals again and will tell my story to whoever I can. Also, the office is disgustingly dirty. Tread carefully Read Less
