She was not given the money to her account as it should be due to human error. And they have not resolved the issue, even though they tell her they send her bank transfer. DO NOT BRING YOUR ANIMAL HERE. ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE AT COMMUNICATING WITH YOU. Our cat was walking at home fine, she went in because we noticed a change in her appetite. She was on IV fluids there for 4 days and came home worse than when we dropped her off. The poor thing had absolutely no strength to even hold her head up to eat. They said she had kidney disease never mentioned what stage she was at until the day after she came home and after 5 phone calls trying to contact someone in the facility. Turns out it was ‘early stages’ according to these idiots so WHY isn’t my cat eating? NEVER GOT AN ANSWER. I thought the point of being a vet was to help animals and try your best to find a solution. If you don’t care enough to help the animal and find the WHY then you probably shouldn’t be a vet. A grand later and they just pumped my poor cat full of drugs and sent her home to die. Last week my little dog had a really big surgery and I have to say, at first when I saw the incision, I was horrified because its hard to see a dog you love so much so bruised and swollen, but in just mere days my little dog is on the rebound. Its only been 4 days since his operation and I'm absolutely amazed. The vets gave him several post op meds and between those and their expertise and surgical skills, my little boy will make a full and cometr recovery. I can't thank them enough for what they did for my dog. Last year I had to make a painful decision to let another dog.. It was another example of the vets letting their expertise and compassion lead the way. I gave them a lower star review because there was a moment during my dogs health history where I was beginning to question the path the vets took and I truly believe that their should be much much more communication from the vet with the concerned pet owners. I had so many questions and concerns and this was a major surgery. I would have liked to have been told what to expect, exactly what they found and what kinds of things in my pets ongoing care need to be modified. Communication is so important and I would have preferred to have informed at every step of the process. A 3 minute outside chat with a vet who was shivering and eager to go back inside just couldnt quell my worries. I would have liked there to have been more diagnostics done in the process of trying to determine the cause of my dogs may symptons. If they were done sooner, when I first took my fig in, it would gave spared him weeks of suffering and for me weeks of extreme worry. My cat Harley was very sick, he had fever and he was in bad shape, I ask them to clip the nails on my cat so the one of the nurse took him in the back and freak the hill out of my cut by putting some kinda cover on his head and he hasn’t been himself since, there was no need for that if she knew what the hill she was doing, he wasn’t in state of being able to bite or attack anything. Had to take my best friend dog to be put down.. They did it with love and caring for the dog and respect for me and the dogs aunt. With me having to do the same to my own pet years ago I had an idea of what to expect. They explained every part of the procedure step by step. If your in this business with out empathy and respect for the pet and owner then your in the wrong job. I give East Moutain Animal Hospital a 5 star rating for this reason and it's clean, prices are very good, they have boarding pets if you're going away, and grooming. They need to get their computers working properly...why do I need to stand there for 20 + minutes while they try to get things to load. Dr Dixon is absolutely wonderful. My kitty needed a lot of dental work which Dr D performed at a reasonable cost and with much compassion. Last night was terrible.  I found my daughters beloved pet Baloo struggling to breath.  So I called her at work and asked her what she wanted me to do.  We agreed that he didn't need to suffer and we wanted to have him euthanized. I drove to her work so she could say good bye only to find out she left work to rush home to say goodbye.  So we met and went to the Vets together.  We were greeted with empathy and asked if we would like to be present for the procedure.  My daughter immediately said yes, knowing this would provide her some closer and she would be able to provide some comfort to Baloo.  We were escorted into the exam room and they asked to take Baloo to the back for a quick exam.  We waited 25 minutes.  When the un-named Vet Tech finally appeared she was carrying a motionless body and I asked if she had done the procedure already.  She said yes.  I was shocked and said that we were told that we could be there for the procedure.  She said she didn't like to do it in front of people because the needle goes directly into the heart.  I said that was not her decision to make.  She should have come and talk to us.  She argued and said no she decided it was best.  I said that the girl at the front told us we could be there.  She said it was a miscommunication.  I reminded her that we have had many miscommunications as she calls them.  She asked "Like What".  So I listed them.  I reminded her of when she mistreated the foster dog I brought in and my 19 year old cat.  She got very defensive and acted terribly.  She through Baloon down and said "Well, he is dead now" and walk away.  We stood there in awe for a moment. And then my daughter went to the door and yelled out to her in profanity.  She was very angry that anyone could be so inhumane and throw the body around like it didn't matter.  My daughter was heartbroken and morning and this women was just so callous and cruel.  I have never met anyone working with animals that could be so inhumane.  We stayed with Baloo a few more minutes to say our goodbyes and wrapped him in his blanket.  Not sure what to do because she left us with no direction and not sure what she would do with his body.  We walked to the front desk and my daughter started explaining what happened to the girls up front.  They were very nice and very apologetic.  She did swear out loud so the Vet Tech could hear her one more time before we left.  But when we left my daughter still felt like that evil woman needed to be reprimanded for her actions.  There has to be some kind of reprecautions for what she did to us and Baloo.  She should not be working with animals.  If she can do that to us and his dead remains, I can't imagine what she would do to our pets when we are not looking.  I have so much respect for Dr. Dave and Dr. Gupta. I think they do a great job and work with many animal rescues that are close to my heart.  I do not hold them accountable for her actions.  But they need to know who is employed at their clinic. This is by far the best animal hospital I've ever been to. The staff is extremely friendly, loving, knowledgeable and helpful. The owner of this hospital is one of the most caring and helpful person I've ever met, giving you his full time and attention. This hospital amputated my cat's tail after she would constantly bite at it, charging us their lowest rate. They are 24 hours, extremely reasonable and always available. Even on the phone they always remember us and help us out with any questions. Don't hesitate to bring your pets here, they are in the best hands! This is by far the worst vet I have taken my dog too. I called in , booked my appointment for 3 days later giving them enough time to review my dogs file (from the previous vet )who suffers from seizures. I called the day of my appointment when the receptionist answered I asked if they had received the file she sighed on the phone and said I guess I could check our email- like it was the worst thing I could have ever asked her to do. She said they didn't have it , even tho I confirmed with the other vet they said they sent the info over.. Strike#1 when I arrived the front office staff was not inviting as this was my first time there.. waited over 20 -30 mins in the waiting room when there was no one else there.. Stike#2 finally go into the room .. i wait , and wait and wait.. when the so called "vet" comes into the room he doesn't acknowledge my dog at all -Stike 3 .. he proceeds to ask why I'm there.. which surprised me as I was my dog was a new patient i would have thought they would review the file as clearly stated at the time of booking the appointment why I was coming in Nope -Strike #4 he leaves the room to see if they had the paperwork took another 20-30 mins .. then comes back again not acknowledging my dog even tho she is trying to see him .. he says he can't help me today cuz the file was to large and needed to review it .. that was the final straw.. I told him that this was not a welcoming feeling as a new client - he looked at me confused and asked me why ? I stated are you kidding me? I told him I was ready to walk out , he implied to me that I would be charged for the appointment.. I stated again are you kidding me .. you haven't even done anything you haven't touched my dog not even to say hello .. I got up and walked out and started walking to my car, turned around and walked in to request all my information be deleted from their database and make sure I wasn't sent a bill in the mail etc .. the vet and the receptionist were talking about me when I walked back in .. the receptionist gives me a dirty look with an extremely rude attitude stated "we can't do remove your info. This place is disgusting and I'm surprised they are in business at all. I honestly can not believe people take animals there. the admin staff was friendly but did not follow through. Very chaotic. My animals were there for an emergency taken in by Animal control (not my choice)and they did not do the proper checks to test the health of my animals (full blood test and uninalysis) They are more then twice the price of my normal vet (quoted $240 for something my vet did for $130) and when asked to transfer the records to my regular vet they did not until my vet had to call and request the records themselves. Some issues were caued by animal control not giving our information to the vet - which is why they got more than just a one. Asked them to properly transfer the records into our names correctly and did not do till the vet called to request our records - good thing we knew the INCORRECT information they had. one of our animals also lost an unhealthy amount of weight while there and some of her health issues were not addressed or even mentioned by the vet Read Less

Absolutely amazing clinic!! You can tell they love animals. Their service is great. They took care of our shitzu under an emergency situation when we were traveling. Just started going here recently as I just moved to Hamilton. We took our cat in for a routine checkup and consultation with a small procedure needed and the cost was quite reasonable, especially when you consider that they are open 24 hours a day 7 days a week. The vet was very nice to our cat and ourselves, the staff was very accomodating and helpful. This vet also uses TIPS as a way to donate directly to ARF in Hamilton. They do a lot of great things, including dealing with rescues in Hamilton as well. I look forward to many more visits for convenience, attitude and experience. Read Less

It is their fault my dog is dead. Brought him in for a cyst on his mouth and the doctors said that it was nothing, a few months later he was acting funny TURNS OUT THE CYST WAS CANCER it wasn't caught in time thanks to these people so he went for surgery and ultimately died. If you want to bring your pet home healthy don't visit this clinic. One of the technicians named Dianne, she's a real... something else, took gauze and muzzled my dog with it until I had to psychically stop her because my dog started bleeding. Dianne is disgusting, I don't know how she is even legally aloud to be around animals and the lack of interest in the wellbeing of animals is disgusting as well. I brought my cat here one time and this was his first time getting his nails clipped and he was scared so instead of trying to calm him they body slammed him down on the table threw a towel over his head and forcefully held him down. I REFUSED their service for my kitten because I didn't have the $600 dollars to pay up Front. This place calls the SPCA on me, and tells them my kitten has a BROKEN LEG!! The vet NEVER told me once it was broken, nor would my kitten be running if it were. Watch your wallet. I'm torn here because the vets are nice and handle my two cats well, however no matter what the reason for the visit I feel that I am always fighting to get out without having to buy a bag full of over priced prescriptions. As pet owners we want to be sure we are doing what is best for our pets but here I find it hard to sort out what is necessary and when I'm being sold a bunch of things my pet doesn't really need. Was 100% satisfied with this clinic. Switched here after having ongoing issues with my previous vet that I stuck to for years because I was afraid to switch - but so happy I did. The staff were great, women in the front were very knowledgeable and helpful, vet was awesome. He listened to what I had to say and explained the problems in a way I could understand and showed sincere concern for my cat. Something I haven't gotten for years at my previous clinic. I was in and out in less than an hour and most of that time I was in the exam room. There was no waiting for anything. Quite impressed. Will definitely be staying at this clinic for my pets care.
