In my opinion this practice puts profit before principles. Charging $64 for Enalapril, a commonly prescribed med, when the cost from a pharmacy is $30! a 100% profit mark-up. Disgusting. To get this business to give me the prescription so I may get the meds for my dog elsewhere was nothing short of an ordeal!!! A battle I eventually won but at a cost of $30 charged by them before they would fax the prescription to my pharmacy. Just had to get that last dime. Also, I was charged $35 for them to trim my dog's nails during a routine visit (after spending thousands of $s with them). This was the first time in my 40+ years of pet ownership that I've been charged for nail trimming during a regularly scheduled visit. Well, they squeezed the last dime out of me as I shall not be taking my dog to them again. There are better veterinary practices with higher moral principles.

Amazing veterinary clinic! Very knowledgable and experienced, by far the most competent vet clinic I have every been to. Huntsville animal hospital performed emergency surgery to save my dog scout after every other vet declined. They made me feel relaxed and reassured at a very stressful time, and always walked me through every step of the way. Because of Huntsville animal hospital Scout is doing amazing, and we have found a new vet for life!

Our cats have received the best care, compassion and love at this clinic. The entire staff has always been supportive to us in good times and bad. They take there time to investigate any issues thoroughly, explain everything to us and never push about treatment decisions. This team is lead by a passionate animal lover who clearly takes the time to hire like minded, quality professionals.

My cat was seriously injured tonight with a serious hip fracture or dislocation and the answering service was extremely empathetic. The Dr so accommodating and concerned about our cat. She met us at the clinic is ten minutes. You get what you pay for folks! Muskoka Animal hospital had all our cat and dog records and a scheduled appointment and they STILL refused to see my cat because we are new to the area and had not seen the Dr yet ! Caring about animals is better than cheaper prices. Quality care. I can't thank Huntsville Animal hospital enough for.seeing our Chester because he was in so much pain tonight. I can't wait to hear what's wrong and to treat it. Thank you again Dr Ann

First and foremost the prices charged for service are outrageous. Even the the vet Dominique Solecki agreed when I stated that fact.
It cost $86.00 for the initial exam, which was a very basic and non-informative to the reason why I was there. This this is almost 50% more then the average rate.
Next came the extremely overpriced antibiotics, Cephalexin 500mg. comparing the $1.53 per tablet they charged to the average market cost of $0.90 is just more evidence that this hospital cares more about money then dogs.
They also tried to over prescribe the drugs and prescribe other unneeded medications.
next came the up selling and fear mongering. From the attempts to over prescribe and sell more in house products this place will pray on the uninformed and fearful.
So if you would like to visit an over extravagant building with nice architecture then this place is for you.
If you would like to get great care at an affordable cost please visit somewhere else.
Also I do believe both hospitals Huntsville Animal Hospital and Muskoka Animal Hospital are affiliated so you will have to travel out of Huntsville to find other services that will not OVERCHARGE you.

A huge thank-you to the staff at the Algonquin Animal Hospital for their incredibly stellar work in the middle of the night this Thanksgiving Weekend. Yesterday, our 180 lb great dane, aged 8 1/2, came down with a sudden case of bloat. If not treated right away, it is usually fatal. We called around 1130pm on the Friday of Thanksgiving weekend in desperation. We were put right thru to Leslie. Dr. Hayley met us there at midnight, examined and x-rayed Max, then called in Dr. Jason who was there almost instantly. By 1am he was scrubbed and he, Hayley and Leslie had Max into surgery and saved his life! We are feeling especially thankful this Thanksgiving weekend for our friends at the Algonquin Animal Hospital! Jason and John

Huntsville animal hospital performed emergency surgery to save my dog scout after every other vet declined. A huge thank-you to the staff at the Algonquin Animal Hospital for their incredibly stellar work in the middle of the night this Thanksgiving Weekend. Yesterday, our 180 lb great dane, aged 8 1/2, came down with a sudden case of bloat. If not treated right away, it is usually fatal. We called around 1130pm on the Friday of Thanksgiving weekend in desperation. We were put right thru to Leslie.
